Is your plan to get a certain number of steps each day? Do you have workout videos you can plan to do at least x days this week? Is there a fur baby in your life who is your partner in fitness for daily walks? What classes, routines, or the like do you want to do this week?
Bottom line: The first trimester brings with it a myriad of funky symptoms that can make it difficult to "get up and go" when we want to stay active. What activities do you plan to do this week that you know will help you stay moving? How do you plan to stick to it? Let's share some ideas before the weekend!
Re: Fitness Friday Check-in 7/7
I was trying to remember when I quit running last time. I hate that it's triple digits right now and my daughter is starting to transition to one nap. I was using her 10am nap to workout at home since we have a treadmill, but I think I'm about to lose that hour. I don't mind running with her outside, but it's way too hot. I hope to continue to do 5-6 miles 3xweek into my second tri. We'll see on that one.

As for arm exercises, pushups are great (as @missnc77 mentioned) because they are a multi-joint exercise. You can work a lot of your upper body+core with that one move! There are also a lot of variations with pushups. You can stagger your hands differently, you can twist up and reach one hand up to the sky (alternating sides) between each push up, etc. Beyond that, having a set of dumbbells that you can use can be a nice way to get in some shoulder and back work, too. If you check out YouTube, there are a ton of demo videos that could be a good place to start!

She's a mother of 2 and worked out through her pregnancies, so she has some great prenatal workouts, too!
Monday: run 5 miles in the morning, swim workout in the evening
Tuesday: back/chest/bis resistance training
Wednesday: leg day + swim workout in the evening
Thursday: shoulder/tris resistance training
Friday: run 5 miles
Saturday: moderate bike and/or swim
Sunday: TRIATHLON DAY!!! Whoop whoop! I'm super excited that I think this triathlon will still go well even though I'll need to take it easier than I had planned. I kind of want to "announce" to the women I'm competing with at the race for the fun of it. I have my second beta HCG draw on Monday this week, so if those numbers are looking good, I probably will do something like a "baby on board" sticker on the back of my tank
I went to my workout group this morning and killed it! I got box jumps for the first time since pre-first-baby! And I wasn't light headed or nauseous at all so I kept at my normal pace. I'm really hoping I can keep this up. Last time I gave up right about now because I was bone crushingly tired, had headaches, was light headed and got winded so fast. Maybe my body is now used to working out on crazy hormones and I can keep up!
Keep it up ladies! Only 8 more months to go

This week I did well, but I don't feel anything yet. I ran and did yoga and light weights. I hope to run until my cerclage goes in. After that I will stop and just do yoga, bike, and light weights.
