Why My Pregnant Self is Crying - 7/7

We haven't had one of these in a long time! Here's hoping we're all crying about silly, frivolous, hormonal things.

  • @kyrwyn Ahhh that's great!

Right as I was pulling up to work this morning, Forever by Chris Brown came on. If you watch The Office, you'll understand why that made me cry. (That episode always makes me ugly cry sob, but I've never cried just hearing that song. Yay hormones!)

  • Mine is legit. This back pain has me in tears. Nothing hormonal.

I had a big legitimate cry this week. I am a new teacher and I found out that my year-round pay option didn't get processed correctly and that I won't be getting any paychecks during the summer. It's only 5 more weeks until I report back and we will survive...I just would have done things differently if I'd known.
  • I too am legit crying over back pain. I work 12 hour shifts and all night at work last night I was in pain. As soon as I walked out of the building I started crying out of pain and frustration!! I couldn't take it anymore... So far tonight has been as bad

  • I haven't been crying as much since 2nd trimester started but I cried today cuz I was watching Megyn Kelly and they did this segment about girls thinking they weren't as smart as boys. And I started crying cuz I don't want my daughter (if I have one) to think she's dumb. Lol

  • A friend posted this on my FB wall and I just did an ugly cry. My "baby" is turning 7 next month and I get so emotional about him not being my baby anymore.

  • I watched Dirty Dancing and the end gave me all the feels
  • I cried watching re-runs of Scandal the other day. The similarities between the events in that show and some of the things that have happened within our government in reality make me really sad.

  • Ugh... the "Hostile Intruder training" video I just had to watch has me in tears at my desk. I've taken this training every year and been fine with it.... this time, I'm inconsolable.

Because TIL that snissing is a thing that happens to me.  Which apparently requires tears. Because, why shouldn't I leak out of multiple places at once?

  • Mostly I like my job but I cried this morning cause I had to go to work. DH was all "what's wrong babe?" In between sniffles,  I'm like, "I don't know." Things were pretty good early but now with anything, waterworks.

  • @djd0404 I live in CT and we had to watch one of those videos at my last job shortly after we had a potential active shooter at the university where I worked (thankfully the suspect was apprehended before anything bad happened) and only a year or two after the Sandy Hook shooting. Even though I wasn't pregnant at the time, it was really difficult to watch. I don't blame you for being upset, I'm actually tearing up now just thinking about it.
  • @cait5413 @flowerpower5838 @NME44 I cry at most family movies even when I'm not pregnant. No shame! Moana was awesome.

  • @peachy13 Lego Batman also made me tear up the other day. It's not unheard of for me to tear up at an animated movie, but the ones lately seem like they wouldn't make me cry if I weren't preggo

  • Crying because my hands and feet are horribly itchy as I'm getting into bed tonight. I have a history of cholestasis with both of my previous pregnancies. The itching has never started this early before. I am in tears both because it gives me horrible anxiety and the itching is miserable.
  • @djd0404 I just had to go look up that video and now it's raining on my face too!

@speach13 Ive been having really itchy hands too!  What does that mean?

NVM - I just did some reading on it. It's only been at night the last 2 days for about 5 minutes, but I'll talk to my doc about it at my Appt this Wednesday. Oy.
  • Three words:: The Giving Tree.

  • -I ate the last mini Milky Way bar and didn't know it was the last one.
-My water cup is empty and I'm too comfortable to go fill it and DH is outside grilling.
-DD is throwing a tantrum because I won't let her eat a waffle she found under the couch. I don't even remember the last time I gave her waffles... which leads to
-My house is a mess, but I'm so exhausted from DD's tantrums and constantly picking up after her, that I legit want to sleep for the next 3 days.
-I want fresh ramen from my favorite place but we live seriously 3.6 miles outside their delivery zone, and I'm not paying nearly 3 times the cost of my meal to have GrubHub deliver it to me.

All reasons I've cried in the last few weeks. Hah

  • @moonlady-2 I feel you - when I first found out I was pregnant I honest to god asked my husband if he was going to love me less after the baby came because he won't care about me as much. Yeah, I'm rolling my eyes REALLY hard at myself.

  • @ktcakes87 @moonlady-2 My husband still makes comments that he is no longer my favorite and he's second best to DD (half-joking). I try to explain to him that she is a baby and she needs me to stay alive, so sometimes I have to prioritize her over him, an adult, but it doesn't mean I love him any less than I used to. What was really hard for him was that he is an only child and the center of his parents' universe--until DD came along. Now she is the apple of her grandparents' eyes and he had to adjust to being second fiddle.

  • We just got back from visiting the in laws, and MIL gave us four classic children's books. One of them was the ugly duckling and the cover has the little duckling looking SO sad and crying and I was telling everyone in the room (MIL, FIL, DH, my mom) how sad it was and I started to cry. Hahaha.

Note to self: do not read stories about the horrible maternal death rate In this country  :'(
  • atackatack member
I cried about names yesterday when DH and stepdad was teasing me.  I got so upset.

I also watched Cher the movie Lion and cried my eyes out.  Sooooo good!

  • @sjis I was just reading all these stories NPR/ProPublica put out about the maternal death rate yesterday and I had to stop.

  • sjissjis member
@leilagphillips that was the article I was reading.  :s
  • @sjis @leilagphillips  YES!!! I don't know if NPR is doing some sort of series on childbirth right now but it seems like every time I get in my car they're talking about it.  Either the horrible maternal mortality rate stories, or yesterday it was interviews with people who are (a) choosing not to have kids because of the environmental impact, or (b) have a whole fannyload of kids because religion.  It's all depressing.
  • @elcd458 I think they must be doing some form of series because they've also done a couple of good (far less depressing) ones recently about breastfeeding.
