Living with in-laws until we find a place ( I just wrapped up a grad program out of state). They're great, but I don't really want to tell them we're pregnant until I have a job and we move out. I just really value my independence, and this is a weird time to not have it.
@Everycol0r: We had to live with my parents twice last year - once for 2 months between closings on old/new house and once for 3 months while our new house was being repaired from storm damage. Even with the best parents on the planet, I couldn't wait to get into our own space again. You have all my sympathies. Hope you close soon!
@Everycol0r Ohhh, you poor thing. When do you close?
We don't have a firm closing date yet, our contract is "on or before July 19th". Movers are scheduled for July 22nd, praying we might could close this week.

Well we love coming to my FILs on the river but getting my 11 month old to sleep here is brutal. Just finally got him down for a nap after 2.5 hours of trying. My other bitchfest is that I'm pissed my MIL is skipping out on my son's first birthday party. She doesn't want to see me FIL (they got divorced a few years ago) and "he won't remember anyway". I think it's complete crap.
I'm so annoyed that I'm working right now! I'm a dental hygienist and my 9 and 10am patients no showed so I've been bored out of my mind for the last 2 hours! Only silver lining is that I'm off for 3 days starting at 3PM.
@Everycol0r we are putting our house on the market in 2 weeks and the housing market is insane in Denver so we are pretty sure we will have to live with my inlaws until we can find the right house. I am so so so nervous! I am pretty sure I'll go crazy after just a few days. Fingers crossed you guys close soon!
@heatherdubrow our neighbors did fireworks at 2:50 this morning!! We have two littles who didn't appreciate that, but I'm pretty sure my DH and I appreciated it even less than they did...
@Everycol0r may the odds be ever in your favor...! We lived with my ILs when we were closing on our house. We were engaged, and I really didn't know them very well, but my MIL is the type that wants to keep her house in pristine condition at all times. (Like how dare you not squeegee the shower walls after you showered??) She went into our room and grabbed our laundry while we were at work, washed it (I'm sure her heart was in the right place), and then proceeded to hang my lace thongs all around their main bathroom to dry. We weren't married, I hardly knew my ILs, and my soon-to-be BIL and soon-to-be FIL had an up close and personal show of what I was wearing...ugh!! I don't know if it was that or just the proximity in general, but just the THOUGHT of doing it again gives me the hebejeebees. I hope you get to close this week!!!
Oh, the fireworks. I understand the 4th, but don't test me anytime before or after past about 10:30. Wake my daughter, you get to put her back to bed! The last two nights our neighbors have decided to START their big boomers around 11:30. Seriously? Stop.
Also, I don't know how I feel about people saving seats on the curb the day before the parade. A couple hours before, fine, but a full 24 hours? What about those that work and can't get down there to set chairs out? I say whoever gets their first the morning of the parade gets the spot. Maybe I'm no fun. And maybe this is a UO.
Mine is that I've given DH a bunch of fun things to do this whole long weekend while he is off before LO and I leave for a month and he hasn't followed through on doing anything. Day 3 of laying around the house.
@chasingroygbiv there is a small town we drive through for DH's family's cabin, and there was a parade this morning--blankets, chairs, "police tape", etc. were all set up yesterday morning, too! DH and I thought there may be a parade yesterday evening or something, but NOPE, just some serious parade goers around here--WOW. And to think, DH, DD, DS, and I just roll in twenty minutes before a parade and always seem to find a spot
My husband and I lived in ATL for just under two years. When we moved back to TX, his back window on his jeep's hard tip was destroyed. They are stupidly expensive so since he has a soft top too, we weren't in a rush.
Then last week while he's putting his soft top up, (because it's going to rain) it breaks. AWESOME. We have a garage, we'll figure this out later. A few days later the rain has passed and he decides that he's just going to put the hard top on, without the back window because it's Texas, it's effing hot, the breeze will be nice! We're still planning on ordering the replacement back window but since we're moving in two weeks, it hasn't been at the top of our to do list and we keep forgetting.
TODAY I take it in to get the annual inspection done and the guy points out a nail sticking out of the side of his tire. It's going to have to be replaced. And it is quite likely that my husband will want to just go ahead and replace all four.
So if you're keeping track, that means we need to order:
- new windshield - new rear window - tires (definitely two but more than likely four) - and EVENTUALLY a new soft top. He's just going to have to deal with the hard top for a while.
My mom and sister brought my nephew(2) and two teen cousins over and called me on the hour drive over to tell me they were coming. They brought lunch but left a mess of wet towels from using my pool and I only got a quarter of what I wanted to get done done because they stayed for 5 hours. my sister also informed me that I am watching my nephew Wednesday and Thursday this week when I only agreed to Thursday she never asked about Wednesday. I am tired and the thought of three kids instead of my 2 for two days is exhausting me but I can't tell them why.
Re: Monday B*tchfest 7/3
Also my brothers set off fireworks at midnight last night, waking up my toddler. And now they're sleeping in. I'm feeling ragey!
I'm still frustrated that my Dr's office is closed today.

Tell DH he has time to lay around once you and LO are gone! @mdfarmchick

This stupid jeep is not my friend right now.
LEAVE ME ALONE PIMPLE.
