Tonight while watching TV I felt a flutter almost like muscle twitch. After googling I think it may have been the baby. Hoping it happens again! Anyone else?!
I'm pretty sure it's too early to feel any movement. Most FTM's moms don't feel it until around 16 weeks at the earliest. And STMs may be able to recognize it a tiny bit sooner than that.

I felt flutters pretty early with subsequent pregnancies. I was 16 weeks with my first. I could tell the difference between gas and flutters. Lol. At 11-12 weeks, it wan't gas. I was around 11 weeks when I felt flutters with my fifth baby. It was around that time with my other three, too.

OP is a FTM, and I am also all about science. I am not really into the "whatever you feel is right" stuff when it comes to facts because I think it's misleading. Sorry OP, but you will feel your LO soon enough.

"Whatever you feel is right" is not the philosophy of the Bump. We do science here. I feel my baby is playing bongos in my ute and already creating a bump, but that doesn't make it true.*
*Note: this is not actually what I feel. My tadpole has neither the limbs nor the hand-eye coordination to play the bongos. Yet.

According to WebMD and the American Pregnancy Association you won't feel baby movements until 16-25 weeks. I don't have time to do a PubMed search but I've read at least 1 scientific article that says baby movement you can feel doesn't start until mid-second tri.
Does pretending it's my baby make my gas cuter? H likely wouldn't buy it, but I can try.

With my first I didn't feelnger until almost 22 or 23 weeks. But the placenta was in the front and that blocked a lot of movement. But I agree that I wouldn't expect to feel anything until 16 weeks or so. Anything before that is probably gas. I have felt a movement that reminded me of baby movements but I'm sure it was gas. Especially since I felt those when I wasn't pregnant too!
In my third pregnancy I didn't even feel her until 18 weeks. What others said, it's either gas or just a twinge happening. Your baby is SO tiny right now it's not even possible.
I actually wasn't able to get on yesterday. So this was not a "drive by" I have been on the bump for weeks now. I was excited about something and thought I would share. Maybe it was gas but it was something I have never felt before so I was wondering. I am a FTM and some of the comments were not as supportive as I had hoped for. I have come here for support and looking at those comments makes me not want to participate. Thank you to those who thought maybe the same as me.

"Supportive" doesn't mean blowing smoke and squeeing blindly. You said you thought you felt baby movement and we pointed out it wasn't scientifically possible. The truth =\= unsupportive.

I didn't feel like the memes and GIFs were nesecesarry.
If you've been hanging around for weeks now, then you should know that's the kind of sense of humor these boards have. Join in on the introductions and daily threads and get to know us a little better and I bet you'll like it here.
I mean I personally love gifs and use them all the time. I'm sorry if you don't find them funny. You should be able to laugh things off on the internet. I mean I love gifs. Sorrynotsorry. They keep things interesting. But if you can laugh this off please feel free to stick around. I mean you could gif back if it makes you feel better.
Thank you I normally love them to and think they are funny. I wasn't expecting all of that by asking a question and being my first post. This is my first and hadn't felt anything like that before.

When you really, really feel baby move you will know it. And it is definitely one of the best feelings in the world.
(PS I don't think all of the sarcasm was directed toward you)
Just FYI, the uterus doesn't start to rise beyond the pubic bone until around 12 weeks gestation, this might be the earliest a mom can feel movements. Some STM+ mom's report movements this early. Most moms, including FTMs don't start feeling movements until the uterus is halfway between the pubic bone and belly button, which is around 16 weeks gestation. At this point, the uterus has moved the bowels upward, and the baby is large enough for movements to be felt. This is usually the time when I say "nope, that's no longer gas, it's baby!"
I know it's really exciting when you're a ftm, but the bump doesn't take too kindly when people don't do their own research first. Next time, you should google your symptoms first. I have gotten a lot of that fluttering in the last two weeks, but it's just muscle spasms or gas moving around (the bloat is just awful with this pregnancy!).
To validate this Mama, we are all here for different reasons. She voiced wanting support and that's valid. Being disagreed with respectfully without any (if even slight) air of making someone feel stupid for asking a question is support. We can't control how other perceive our words but we can voice support even in a disagreement.
We have all been excited, worried, vulnerable and the like. Let us all extend grace to each other. We don't have to agree but we can say things with shared excitement and that's ok.
Nothing bad ever came from encouraging someone too much and isn't that what we aim to do with our sweet babies?

OP wasn't asking for support. She was asking if anyone else felt movement. There is a HUGE difference. You need to go check out the support threads (losses, fitness groups, etc) and compare and contrast. And I don't believe in "encouraging someone too much" when it scientifically isn't possible.
Were some of the memes unnecessary? Possibly. But some were also funny. I personally love the simpsons one the best.
Should we lie to the OP and tell her she totes felt the baby? No.
