Interacting with and keeping our LOs entertained

Let's get a good list of what everyone's doing now that our LOs are awake and alert for longer periods during the day.

Re: Interacting with and keeping our LOs entertained

  • Following because I struggle with this. Claire's almost 4 weeks old so right now there's not much to do and not many awake periods where she's happy but for now we do tummy time 2-3 times and sitting on my lap against my thighs just talking and focusing on head/neck control. I'm looking for other ideas as she grows older!

  • Daughter is almost 7 weeks. We do tummy time on my chest. I sing songs to her, usually making up the words to a tune or repeating the chorus. I walk around the house or outside. I play with her hands, having her grab my thumb. Make silly faces and voices. I like to brush her hair. She spends time in the boppy lounger looking at different things.
  • Hayes is 5 weeks. We do tummy time and back time on various playmats, we have rattles and sensory toys (I hold them in front if him or run different textures in his hands), we go on stroller walks or walks around the house. We've started combating his witching hour with a full on dance party, with music and singing and dancing (DH does a lot if singing throughout the day.)
