My friends keep trying to guess if baby is a boy or girl before our gender reveal and most of them are team blue and it's making me irrationally angry that they are guessing right. I WANT THE WOW FACTOR, STOP IT. BE WRONG.
@kwaldy On my first BMB, people kept randomly typing BBB and I had NO IDEA what it meant. I googled, I looked at the newbie guide and nothing. I finally asked. It was people abbreviating my (then) TB screen name. I went for months without realizing people were taking to/referencing me. Such a face palm moment.
@DuchessOfCambridge I would start casually dropping "she" when referencing baby with them. They'll think you slipped up and it'll get you the surprise back!
I am overly excited to see the Minions movie this weekend. We told our 3y/o son this morning that if he had another good day at school that we could go see it this weekend. His response- I don't want to. Ummmm child this is for ME not you. I want all the Minions and all the popcorn!
I wanted a bowl of Captain Crunch last night but I didn't want to share with my son so I waited until he fell asleep and sat down and had a nice big bowl all to myself. My fiance got home right as I was making it and said didn't you have dinner already. I just glared at him and said yes but I'm hungry again, do you have a problem with that?
I want to take my son to that movie but he's never been to the movies because he can't sit still very long and I'm worried he will insist on going to the bathroom every 10 minutes and I will miss the movie I over paid for. Theaters are so expensive now!
Now I see why boy moms are crazy about who they marry. If you can't buy bows, you spend your time looking for suitable wives for your son. Hahahaha #joking #kindof
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@amber0529 I just started taking my 3 y/o to the movies. This will be his 3rd movie. We just have to make sure it is something he is REALLY interested in. We go to a theater that has the big recliner seats and bring a blanket for him so he is nice and comfy. Then load him up with snacks (that I sneak in my bag) and he is good to go! He definitely talks a little bit here and there, but he actually sits still AND HE NEVER DOES THAT AT HOME!
Today is the fourth day I haven't washed my hair. It doesn't get "dirty" so I don't need to...but it makes me feel gross.
I also had two milkshakes yesterday. Not one, but two.
Confession #2: 3-4 days is my pre-pregnancy normal and at this point I am past that if it makes you feel better... It's just not dirty! But it does feel weird and wrong, I agree.
I still shower every day though, guys, don't worry.
Same - my hair has been great! Not only is it not getting greasy but it's easy to style between washes. I think related though - my facial skin has been SO dry and flakey. It's been humid here but I'm having to oil my face, and the last two times I washed it with a very gentle cleanser it was red all day (like chemical burn). Anyone else??
Because I'm a photographer I've seen every "creative" gender reveal five million times and I feel all this pressure to make ours unique but I have absolutely no unique ideas. My husband is like do it with a cake, that's cool and unique, but I'm like...I've seen at least a thousand cake reveals. And smoke bomb reveals. And paint reveals. And exploding ball reveals. And balloon reveals. I have no idea what to do. I'm making myself crazy over a tiny detail that ultimately doesn't matter all that much!
Real talk FFFC: I worry I'll be too lazy to pump on time and will end up with all kinds of unpleasant consequences. It seems like such a process. I have to go to an entirely different floor to a mother's room which seems to be a closet with no windows and I am sad about it.
I expect you just kind of get used to it and know you have to do it so you do, but I still worry.
Wearing these shorts for the 4th time this week. No shame. They are super stretchy denim and a size up from my normal so they actually fit as long as I don't dry them
@kaitieb14 that would be the most amazing reveal ever! The shock factor would be excellent!

Real talk, the reason I quit pumping with my first was because I would get too caught up with work. I forget to eat lunch some days for the same reason...
@DuchessOfCambridge Pumping at work is SUCH a hassle for me. Our mothers room isn't far but it's tiny with no windows and one tiny dim light. Plus people are gross and make the room dirty. I especially hate it because I work on piece rate so the longer I pump the less I make, and I lose out on OT (which we always work).
I wonder if it's the difference between having a boy and a girl. I don't remember my hair being like this when I was pregnant with DS. This is new for me.

I set an alarm on my phone in the beginning so I would remember. My boobs started hurting really bad if I didn't and you'll worry about having enough milk. If you don't pump on time, your supply can go down. Honestly, I enjoyed my pumping time because I had a quick break to catch up on social media. It also reminded me that I was a mom in a place that didn't really care that I was a new mom (as weird as that sounds because not pumping doesn't make you less of a mom)
@DuchessOfCambridge I used the pumping sessions as a break from work. I'm a programmer so it was nice to get away from staring at code all day long. Also,
@kwaldy@baby3forme@mariposa_767s thanks for the different perspectives! I do really want to pump to keep supply up and also because I want DH to be able to feed baby sometimes. I hope to have a good stockpile going, but that requires me to not be lazy about it, so I'm hoping I won't be.
@DuchessOfCambridge my boobs wouldn't let me not pump. They'd get super sore and engorged. I'd have to pump in my car since we don't get breaks and didn't have somewhere to go which was loads of fun so I used it as a chance to eat and pray that no one walked close by lol
My FFFC: DS is going swimming with his cousins this afternoon and I never get kid free time. I know I need to mow our yard but it's so hot and I'd rather just do some computer work I've been putting off and nap.
@kaitieb14 Gender reveal fireworks? That's what we did but only set one off at a time! My fiance got buy 1 get 1 free and decided to set them both off at the same time but the few second difference in lighting them messed it up so bad!
@DuchessOfCambridge I had the problem at work that my manager would conveniently 'forget' to come relieve me from the register so I could pump. It was so painful and when I did go pump it was in the stockroom where any employee had access to. I would hide in a corner so if I heard anyone walk up I could be like hey, don't come back here.

This makes me so sad and now I feel ridiculous for complaining about having to go to another floor. At least there is a mother's room and at least it is private. I am so sorry you had to do this.
@DuchessOfCambridge Do you have a laptop at work? That helped. At my last job I just caught up on social media or applied for new jobs. I'd put times on my calendar too so no one could book anything then. I tried to be so consistent with it.

Hey at least it was better than the bathroom! And I would use the boxes of stuff to make a chair and a table to set my pump on, haha.
@ElizabethSchuyler I do not have a laptop, they are not very flex/WFH friendly here so almost everyone has a desktop. It would be really wonderful if I could have a curtain covering the window of my office that looks out into the hallway so I could just stay here but I don't think that will be approved. Won't know til I ask though. At least I have a private space with a lock on it no matter what.
ETA @amber0529 I am very happy you don't work there anymore and I hope you have a much easier time next go around.
We all have these stories. Know your rights and don't be afraid to stick up for them. I pitched a fit when I went back. I got what should have been provided to me.
Re: FFFC
FFFC: I had to google what "GTKY" meant this morning. In all my years of using TB, I had no clue it meant "getting to know you."
*facepalm*
I pretended to be asleep last night so when DHs boss and kids showed up to look at a vehicle we are selling I didn't have to be social.
