Thought of some more randoms. I am effing dying to watch the PLL finale (I started it before work this morning and watched a little more on my lunch break). Also, we got rid of cable!!! I didn't think we'd ever be able to do it because sports (for DH) but we switched to Playstation Vue!
@MJDsquared congrats on "cutting the cord," as they say! It's apropos here, haha. DH and I got rid of cable about 3 years ago, and I don't miss it at all. The only major con is that I never know what movies are coming out because I don't see commercials!
Ahh, I need to start lurking the BMB's for the good stuff. Back in the day, the 1st tri board was like the freaking wild west. Entertainment for days! I really miss the nonsense, I hate getting involved with drama but it sure is fun to watch from a safe distance!!

We gave up cable about 6 years ago and I honestly don't miss it at all. We have Netflix and Hulu and I occasionally mooch off my parent's HBOgo account. We also have a Chromecast, but I hardly ever use it. I have no interest in sports or reality TV and I just get my news online so it works really well for me. My husband doesn't watch sports too much, but when he does want to he'll usually just go to a bar or a friend's house.
I'm a bit late on the March BMB drama, but I was following it as it unfolded. I can vouch that LoveInDC ABSOLUTELY said nothing wrong or out of line to that girl, especially considering how hurtful she had been to the women of TTGP (including Love before she got her BFP). After others pointed out the drama that went down on TTGP, Love pointed out that many, including herself, were hurt by the girl's comments. She later explained exactly what happened when another member questioned why people were being mean. In that second post, she specifically stated "That doesn't mean she's not welcome here" and went on about how The Bump is essentially a community of give and take and that the girl could be a contributing member. Yet both her comments were removed and she was banned. It was incredibly unfair, considering Love has been such a positive, supportive member of TTGP and the community.
Now for the other important thing in this thread....have you finished watching PLL yet, @MJDSquared? I'm a little sad the show is over; I've watched it for SO LONG. What did you think of the ending?

@Tennis11785 I wasn't a huge fan. Also, PLL has made my head hurt for a while now because I can't keep straight all the crap that has happened over seven seasons. Once it's all on Netflix I totally want to rewatch from the beginning. But I'm pretty glad it's over now, I think.
@MJDSquared - oh it's totally ridiculous. I know some people really didn't like the ending. I kinda like that it found a way to stay kinda true to the books, without letting the books give away the ending (even though I never read the books).

@speach13 we also have an antenna for the local channels and Netflix/Amazon prime. The quality of the signal the antenna gets can really depend on positioning. If you get one of the flat ones, it's sometimes better to mount it on a (preferably exterior) wall than to set it on a table/bookshelf. You can google some tips about getting a better signal (some people even figure out what direction the broadcast signals are coming from and get an extra long cord to put the antenna on a wall in that direction). But, some areas do get better signal (fewer trees, closer to the broadcasting stations). We get some channels better than others. We rarely watch shows in real time (other than football games), so the on-demand stuff usually works for us.

My judgy OB was accidentally out of office for our appointment this morning so we got to see the super awesome NP instead who a) did not nag me about my weight (It's been hot, she said, I don't want to exercise either. Just keep an eye on it next month and don't make it a trend.) and b) gave us some advice on parenting classes not through our medical group.
She also gave us the heads up that all the physicians are taking PTO in August (scheduling WTF Paul?!) and to schedule our August appt before the entire month is booked. She already had a week with 17 appts / day thanks to vacationmageddon.
Thanks @cait5413! I tried to fix the antenna we have by myself and I made it worse haha. I'm just going to let DH take this one over.
@kyrwyn That's great that the NP was awesome! I'm using a midwife this time around who is an APN and she seems so much more interested than my last OB. I know he's a very busy guy but it's still nice to feel like I actually matter.

they had a few members who were due early July and they were constantly being picked on for their legit questions and concerns, so they decided to come join June, as our atmosphere was more inviting apparently. So July peeps ended up coming and blowing up our threads, saying that these moms were stupid, blah blah, and that they never contributed and that's why they got flamed. But who TF cares if they contribute? If you have a problem and you're truly concerned, you should NOT feel like you can't ask your BMB.
Anyways, they started causing drama on our board and started arguments with our people who were literally trying to get them to stop and go back to July. A couple of us got banned (then they made new profiles haha!!) while the Bump Gods went on a banning spree in July for whatever reason.
THEN!!! There was the Tot Invasion!! Tater tots happened to be a thing for June (I think it started with tater tot hot dish), and instead of going on July and using words, we posted tons of gifs and pictures of tots. Apparently they still think that any random who shows up is a Juner.
But in the end, they did it to themselves lol. We got slack for being the White Knights (I got called out a lot for that because I think online drama is stupid, but it sure is entertaining to an extent), but we just didn't want unnecessary drama. This ain't high school no mo!!! Hah
Was just looking at Credit Karma and they helpfully informed me I've only paid off 11% of my student loan debt (I graduated four years ago). I'm not crying, you're crying!
Also our dogs had a $700 vet bill the other day and in August will have $1,200 worth of dental cleanings (and they'd better not need any extractions because I know that will be $$$$). We're also boarding them for a few days in July.
Why does this all have to happen once we get pregnant?! Oy.
I was actively part of A14 under a different username, that BMB was the shit. Everyone was so opinionated and snarky, it was awesome. We were dubbed the A14 Mean Girls early on and it was a common theme throughout the months... then SHTF and the bump imploded about 6 months after we all delivered our babies. We all migrated to FB and a huge group of us deleted our accounts and contacted admins to erase our posts/content from the interwebs. I was cautious coming back... from the sounds of things, admins haven't changed much since the implosion.
@MJDsquared@Tennis11785 I was a huge PLL fan, loved that show, stopped watching at the season finale when they revealed A and RedCoat were one in the same and it was Allison's older transgender brother Cece Drake. And that she dated her own brother for a while before anyone knew who she really was. I felt like it was horribly explained and the execution of that reveal was poorly written. I have no idea what happens after that because I stopped watching. Would it be worth going back and finishing it?
@easybreezy225 - I think so. I didn't love that whole storyline. Looking back on the whole series, I think it went on waaaay longer than Marlene ever expected. And after giving us "fake" A's for so many seasons in a row, she felt like she needed to create a character that had some real skin in the game (pun intended) and was a real villian (and not another fake out). But it couldn't be the real villian, because the show wasn't over and she couldn't reveal who it really was. Marlene has known since Day 1 what the final episode was going to be. She just needed to create all the stuff in the middle to get us there.

Now I can't remember where people were talking about this and I meant to comment but forgot. But my maternity leave to-watch list is huge. DH is pretty much always around and we don't agree on a lot of shows, so I stockpile my own shows to watch whenever I can.
I think the 'Articles of Interest' thread is a perfect example of how we can have a respectful discussion from differing perspectives without getting nasty. This board is just redeeming itself all over the place today!
I just wanna say that everyone should go make a backup account so you don't have to wait to start posting again if the good ol' ban hammer comes down in full force for some stupid reason. (I already have one, hehe!) Almost every single one of my close friends in Jan16 got banned repeatedly and one even had to start using a proxy because her IP was eventually banned.

I was A14 and it was crazy snarky and mean girl... It was amazing and fun. Lots of VERY different personalities but we all made it out alive and everyone found their little groups to continue on with. I talk to them daily and girl's trip with a small group each year-we are planning our fall trip now and I'll be pregnant and miss all the drinking...
There is zero chance all the different personalities will vibe on a board but if you can find your small group you'll love it. Also, now that it's been so long the ladies that I didn't click with or really like before I now love and respect because they are real people to me. Even if I don't agree, I'll listen and have a real convo with them instead of snark because I value them.
Me again. Definately here for the randomness with this one BUT you know who is mega uber talented? Bruno Mars. He is singing on Jane the Virgin and I'm like whoa, I need this song in my life. This also happened when he was on carpool karaoke, which also caused me to love many celebrities I felt indifferent about before watching (I'm looking at you Harry Styles).
In a nutshell, if you are bored look up carpool karaokes and get ready to die laughing. If you need a show to watch, whether it's now with the insomnia or once you are awake with a new baby all night, Jane the Virgin is perfect. It's funny, totally campy and Rafael is hot as hell.
@tamaraaaa He is always apparently amazing live! I'm not super into pop but I love a good performer and live show - he's on my list of concerts to see if/when the stars align for childcare the next time he rolls though town haha.
So I'm really excited to find out the sex of the baby tonight! I originally planned to have a small party, just my parents, my in-laws and our two close friends (who are handling the surprise aspect!). However last weekend my husband mentioned the party to his Uncle, and it all snowballed from there. Then his Aunt was texting me asking what to bring, and I was like - bring to what? So then of course we had to invite his other Aunt and Uncle and their children, his Grandma, my Aunt and Uncle....now my cousin and his wife are coming with her nephew, my brothers-in-law are driving down with 2 friends who are staying with them this weekend ...... it's a mess!
