You know, the mild virus that causes a rash in kids? Kinda a big deal to get it while pregnant.
I'm currently waiting for what will be the first of several u/s. Complications from the virus can take 8-12 weeks to show in the fetus.
I am so effing pissed that I'm in this place again, with some random issue that doesn't cause an issue for most pregnancies, but can be serious. I have an u/s in a half hour and I'm terrified. Total ptsd.
Sending you lots of positive vibes. So glad that you figured out what it is and are getting monitored. Hope that in the end it just means extra USs and everything is just fine.
Get well soon and hoping the best for the baby. I am pretty sure I had this about a year ago and passed it to my toddler. I was super sick for about a day. When the fever came on my bones hurt so bad, I could barely drive myself home from work. Best wishes for you!
Lurking from dec 17. I have my first ultrasound tomorrow bc of fifths disease. About a month ago my daughter had it and the OB's nurse continually put me off about it. They did blood work two weeks ago and it showed that I did have it at that time. Not sure what to expect tomorrow, but hoping that it didn't spread to the fetus. Thoughts and prayers to you. I completely understand the irritation and fear that goes along with this.
Thinking of you! A goof friend of mine from my previous BMB went through this and everything turned out fine. Positive vibes to both @eighmeyf and @BelhurstBride and your babies.
@BelhurstBride thank you for the update, I'm glad to hear that so far, so good. How often will they monitor you over the next 12 weeks? I can't imagine how nerve wracking this must be for you, I'll be keeping you in my prayers.

Glad everything looked good today. Did they say how often you will have to have ultrasounds?
@eighmeyf, the recommendation is every or every other week.
With my pregnancy prior to this one I had a SCH that required bi weekly u/s. That didn't end well and quite honestly, I'd be okay with never having another u/s again. So between that experience and the fact that should hydrops or other complications form there's nothing that can be done anyway, my OB and I decided to do the one I had yesterday, one around 12-13 weeks and then decide from there.
I found this while lost in a research rabbit hole, and found it slightly reassuring:
I'm so sorry you are going through this but so glad to hear yesterday checked out okay... sending prayers that there are no complications down the road.

Thank God one of DD1's classmate's mothers mentioned having it and the joint pain or I probably never would have realized I had it.

As of today the placenta has not yet formed, so that's a plus. Less of a pathway for the virus to get passed onto fetus.
@eighmeyf, so sorry you're also dealing with this.
