Re: WTF Wednesday 6/28

  • I started for selfish reasons...wtf to being at work at 6am and wtf to the jerk who hit my mailbox last night and left it for me to find in pieces scattered across my yard this morning at 5am. Wtf man?!

  • Did they hit it or use a bat on it? I would be angry as well!
  • Grrr @jess0211 That happened with our garbage can several times. Our mailbox bracket was also broken and now it spins. Can't wait to sell our house and move to a less busy street. PS let the cops know.

  • My WTF is my dog. Yesterday morning I woke up to find he had shredded a catalog and my notebook all over the living room that he had taken off of a table now this morning I get up to find he had pooped on the livingroom floor sometime before he woke me up at 3:30 to let him outside. Why do animals insist on using the bathroom or throwing up in the one room in the house with carpet!
  • @NYTino24 i loved that show
  • I have to pee but my nails aren't dry yet.

  • @bcashaw Well, that sucks! But I'm sure she learned her lesson! I already teared up several times at this show.

We have all hard flooring in our house and any time one of the dogs gets sick they manage to find a rug. It blows my mind.

I've heard that it's because it reminds them the most of grass. Zero idea if this is actually true or not. But seems at least sort of plausible?

  • @ArtificialRed That's probably true.
  • My neighbor is my WFT. She is usually a very nice, reasonable woman the same age as my mother. I went to school with her oldest son, my DH went to school with her middle son. She is getting the fence between our yards rebuilt. Great, the old one is very old and falling apart and she wants a nice wooden 6ft privacy fence to match the rest around her yard. Perfect! Love it! She's going to pay for it all even though we offered to split it. Cool.

The guy building it told he he needs to move it 6 inches into our yard. Wait, what? He says in order to build the fence in a straight line he needs to clear vegetation in our yard (our edge garden) and move it 6 inches into our yard to avoid an apple tree on her property. We personally hate that apple tree. It hangs completely over into our yard and drops tiny rotten crab apples all over the place that the dog and children try to eat. This would also make the gate on that side completely unusable. It is a tight space as it is, 6 inches would mean we would have to get rid of the gate. Umm... no? None of this was discussed with us, we haven't seen or talked to this guy, and suddenly you want us to give up 15 sq ft of our already small yard?

My wtf is this random cold/stuffy&sniffly nose that came up out of nowhere. I sound ridiculous and my head feels like it may explode. Only 3 more hours til I can go home.
  • WTF to my abdomen right now. I've got a gas pain and a Braxton-hicks fighting it out in there and it's all kinds of painful.

Absolutely not. She is the one who initiated this, she can get rid of her tree or figure out a solution. Or they could move the fence 6 inches closer on her side to go around the tree that way. I would 100% not let them take 6 inches on an entire side of my yard. That's a lot of space!
    +1

  • @BayCamp yuck that sounds miserable!

  • My feet are already swelling...wtf

@bcashaw not gonna lie...I laughed.  I hope she learned her lesson.

  • We have family who had a similar argument with neighbors about a fence. Although they were the ones who wanted to place the fence on property that was rightfully theirs, even though the neighbor had taken it over/planted trees/created a little stream on it prior to my family members having bought it.  They eventually basically said, "We're happy to arrange a purchase agreement for that section of property if you don't want us to put the fence there" and the neighbors conceded.  Hope you can find a solution.  I would sure hope the fence company wouldn't dig into someone else's land!?

  • I think I might be developing a lactose intolerance during this pregnancy. Here for the past 3 days, every time I eat I feel nauseous.  But I have had some form of dairy at almost every meal and I have a feeling that's it.

  • My wtf is taking DHs car to get inspected today and coming out with a $425 bill for new rotors and pads along with an oil change. I understand it was needed but come on man. I work for an aftermarket auto parts company I know you just gouged me on parts. Had I known DH needed these I could have used my nice discount and purchased the parts prior to taking it to get inspected. UGH not the time to get a bill like that.
  • 2nd wtf is DH is a Physician Assistant. He's contracted with his company 144 hours a month they just informed all midlevels today that the company's new contract only allows them 60hrs a week for all midlevels combined. There are 2 each week so essentially they are forcing them to sign a new contract for 10hours less a week 30-40 hours less a month or they fire them because VA is at will employment. Are you kidding me? Also they are bouncing them around from one area to another because the hospital started a residency July 1st. Needless to say DH is looking for a new job immediately.
  • Glad to know we aren't out of line for being upset about this!

@MississippiCatfish If she had contracted a fencing company I'm sure they wouldn't, but she found a guy who does fences on the weekends, so.... *shrug*

@NYTino24 We told her we were uncomfortable with losing the function of the gate and she seemed ok with it, but I didn't talk to her, DH did and he frequently leaves any unpleasantness out of retellings. I hope she's ok with it since she is our neighbor and I see and interact with her regularly.

@bcashaw I admit, I laughed my head off too. Maybe she will learn not to snoop around where she shouldn't.

I'm like the opposite. I had issues with a lot of foods (like dairy) and reflux (I was on 5 different medications and sometimes choked on bile at night), but now I can have them and don't have reflux. Weird what pregnancy does to bodies.

My husband does that too! Drives me insane. Then he asks the next morning why I am sooooo tired and I want to kill him! haha

My WTF is--- WHHHHHYYYYY can I not find a pair of maternity bermuda shorts that aren't jeans and are full belly! I hate short shorts but I cannot wear full pants when it is 100 degrees outside!
  • My WTF is why is it so damn hard to refill my anti nausea prescription ?! First insurance will only cover 12 pills at a time, even though you can take up to 4 a day (so, 3 days of pills at a time) then they won't cover refills until 15 days have passed from the last fill. WTF?!

Have you asked your doc to call in a prior authorization? I was having the same exact issue with my generic  Zofran. The clinic called and insurance agreed to give me the max pills/refills allowed which was like 99,999 doses in a year. Lol. But now I get a 10 day prescription (with 3 refills per script). I'm sure I could get a longer script if I requested from the doc. But no more insurance issues!
  • @mymulligan I've been trying to get my doc to call in all day and they told me they shouldn't need to so I called my insurance folks and they said they DO need it so now I'm waiting for my doc to call back AGAIN, I feel like I've been sent in circles all day long and all I want is my rx so I don't have to go back to throwing up constantly ugghhh!
  • @mparm91 I'm sorry to hear that! Super frustrating! I hope your doc gets on the line with insurance asap. If you talk to the doc's office, make sure to ask the to make a rush or priority request so you don't have to wait the standard 48 hours or whatever it is for the insurance company to process.

my husband will also say the next morning- well you should just close your eyes and relax and you will fall asleep. Wow, never thought of that!
Oooooh, that would be so annoying!!! "DO YOU NOT THINK I'VE TRIED EVERYTHING?!?!?!" Lol. That would be my response  :D I ended up getting up and doing some online shopping... sadly I couldn't find anything I wanted to buy.
