I got the menstrual cramp feeling again last night but otherwise my body is business as usual.
What's getting rather irritating is that normally I toss and turn quite a bit at night. Now, I can tell it's not happening. I'll wake up in the middle of the night to pee, or wake up in the morning, and my entire side aches from being on it too long. It's just uncomfortable.
Dealing with such swollen feet. Yesterday it got to the point where my feet couldn't slide all the way into my flip flops. Dealing with some headaches too but primarily at work when I'm stuck in a room with a lot of fluorescent lights.
Annoyed that I tested positive for group b strep which means IV antibiotics during labor. Was hoping to not have to drag around that pole again this time. Last time I had to have them due to prolonged rupture of membranes.
@brookedeyo I'm in the same boat as you and will need to be hooked up to the antibiotics during delivery. With DS, I tested negative for GBS at 36 weeks, but somehow developed it in the last two weeks before delivery and he contracted sepsis as a result. This pregnancy, despite what the results end up being, I'm automatically on the meds. Just praying I get to the hospital quick enough, bc supposedly you need to be on the IV for four hours for them to take effect.
This baby has moved up and off my badder- hallelujah! Early last week he spent a few days riding really low and my bladder folded faster than a $2 suitcase.
He won't move at all from the transverse position, I briefly wondered if maybe the placenta was in the way or there was a cord issue but then remembered for week 29 he was solidly vertex, so now I just think he's comfy laying sideways (like my H said, who wants to hang out upside down anyway?). I'm starting to research ways to help encourage him to get himself set up vertex before it gets too late.

@mango517 There's still time for him to move. 2 weeks ago at 2 separate ultrasounds my boy was breech and transverse. Then at both ultrasounds last week my baby was head down.
I totally overdid it yesterday. I took my son and dog for a walk that turned out to be double the length than originally intended.
Hips and lower back were killing me last night.
My my son ended up being sent home with the stomach bug today- so we are sitting on the couch watching cars. So much better than sitting through meetings all day. (Even though I hate that he is feeling sick)
The last few nights Ive woken up about to throw up becuase of acid! I have never had this happen before, and although I do get some heartburn, its not bad, and nothing I have needed to medicate. Its super annoying though, and my throat hurts now becuase of it!

Mommy to a super cute havanesse puppy and baby boy!
@kristenk727 I remember reading about the four hour rule at some point. So I assume as soon as labor starts I will need to get to hospital. I'm just worried that I won't realize labor is happening and there won't be enough time. I want my water to break like last time, but actually be noticeable this time, so I know it's baby time.
How scary about your last baby having sepsis!! Glad everything turned out fine. I hate the risks of GBS.
@Mango517 Agree with what Kathryn said. I think I heard that by 36 weeks baby should be in position. Not saying they can't turn after that, but it apparently becomes less likely. You have lots of time!
Feeling less hungry and more tired lately. Because of my high BP, my OB said I should be "taking it easy". Such a vague term. Can I walk the dog? Go to the grocery store? To me, that's taking it easy. Going to ask her to clarify at my appointment tomorrow. @Kathryn0903 What'd they say to you about the next few weeks? Any restrictions for you?
@secicc12 when I was in the hospital for monitoring, my discharge paper said no exercise and the nurse said I should take it easy at work. Basically, I'm not filling my days with a ton to do or I notice lots of swelling. At work I sit most of the day, but I've totally had a chair set up to elevate my feet too. As far as exercise goes, I've given up my prenatal exercise class, but I'll still do a lap or two around the block.
@littlebug2010 If I don't take a bunch of Tums before bed, I wake up like that. It is awful . My LO lives on my right side- half the time I have a smushy left side of my belly and this tight pushed out right side. Luckily I feel it far more than it is seen, but my DH had his hand on my belly this weekend and was amazed she hadn't punched a hole through my right side.

@secicc12@Kathryn0903 Thanks for the info! That's good to hear. I started reading through spinning babies just to start to get ideas of what I had to do and they had me all freaked out that he was still favoring transverse the majority of the time at 31 weeks.

@Kathryn0903 That's helpful, thanks! One of the nurses made it sound like I should be laying on the couch all day only getting up to use the bathroom and eat. That would drive me nuts.
Baby has been moving a ton the last couple days. We went to a wrestling show last night and the loud theme music for the wrestlers seemed to pump him up. I bet he could feel the bass.
My hips have been really achy the last few days and I've even had sciatica pain. Today seems better so far.
@PinkPrincessPiper I'm on the same boat as you - INSOMNIA! It may have been thanks to the constant peeing, but Insomnia sucks!
One day last week I was awake for 3.5 hours and when I finally fell asleep I had to get up and pee, then 30 mins later the alarm clock went off for work. I made my DH drop of our DS to grandma's house and I slept till 1130am then went in to work after lunch.
Lower back pains still stink right now but I've been going to the chiropractor once/week and a 30 min massage once/week too.
@secicc12 I kinda got made to feel similar by one of the nurses at the hospital, but I'm not going to make too drastic changes unless my doctor specifies so.
+1 for all the things. Stretch marks are expanding to my thighs. Still none on my belly, but my poor boobs are covered and my hips each have what looks like a sun rising on the horizon except they're purple stretch marks
Heartburn at night + Restless legs at night (HELP this is the worst!!) = Insomnia = Super emotional & crying = Terrified of having an infant = Feeling bad for feeling bad since we wanted to get pregnant so badly.
My biggest complaint currently is the pelvic/crotch pain. I feel like I walk like an elderly woman! I'm hoping it goes away again like it did earlier in this pregnancy. I just don't remember ever having this with DD. I'm right there with some of you and the nightly heartburn too.
@Kathryn0903 have you mentioned your headaches to your doc? I know you're being watched for pre-e and I've heard headaches can also be part of that (not meaning to scare you).

@bumpybump I have mentioned the headaches, but they think they're ok for now since they go away and don't persist. I was told to watch out if they don't go away with Tylenol and especially if they're accompanied with vision changes. For now, they go away with Tylenol or if I lay down to rest for awhile.
@bumpybump I have that same pain here and there, brought it up at my appt a few weeks ago. Are you a STM (or 2+ kids)? Apparently I didn't feel that pelvic pain w/ DS in 2014 bec he was my 1st baby, potential subsequent births after the 1st it can be felt due to the previous births and stretching of the ligaments. How wonderful right? She told me to wear those maternity belly bands - which also helps my low back pain from the weight of the belly. So far so good and haven't had that sharp pain as much. Also consult w/your doctor too, to be sure.
@littlebug2010 and everyone else dealing with at night heartburn try eating a red apple before bed they were a life saver last pregnancy. fortunately this time it's not as bad for me at night just random bouts during the day.
@dma0389 yes, I'm a STM. I've talked to the OBs about a few of my "pains" and basically got the response of yep, STM+ feels things earlier or for the first time compared to a first pregnancy. One said they basically pay the mom on the back and say you're doing great (like the cartoon above).

@mrsmatt1212 papaya enzymes help me with heartburn and magnesium oil helps with the insomnia and leg cramps at night. Maybe it would help with restless legs too! Both are on Amazon. Hope you find relief.
@Kathryn0903 When I had high BP and severe swelling with my first, I was told to keep my feet elevated above my heart. I'd also use ice packs at night to get some relief although I'm not sure how much that helped with the actual swelling. It helped a little with the discomfort from swelling though.
My feet were so swollen that I had to go up a whole size in sneakers. I couldn't wear anything else because my feet didn't fit into any type of shoe. When they were elevated overnight, the swelling definitely went down and my feet almost looked normal. Of course as soon as I was on my feet even just to shower, they puffed up again. The swelling eventually went all the way up my legs and I needed compression stockings just to be able to walk around without much discomfort. Definitely take it easy, stay off your feet as much as possible and drink tons of water. Hopefully your swelling won't get too bad.
Has anyone dealt with really bad hip pain when sleeping? I legit got up in the middle of the night and was in so much pain that I couldn't get myself back into the bed.
@Kathryn0903 omg, the hip pain! It's on both sides, hip to leg. I can't sleep. Add in the back pain and crotch pain, I want to cry. DS doesn't understand why I can't pick him up all the time.
@Kathryn0903 yes on the hip pain! I wake up multiple times in the night just to roll over and give each hip a break. I've always been a side sleeper but my hips arent used to holding up all this new added weight. I've sometimes tried propping my back with pillows to try and sleep at an angle when it's really bad.
@Kathryn0903 I had hip pain early on in the 2nd tri and that's when I got my pregnancy pillow. I've had hip pain maybe twice since so I credit the pillow (basically positioned as @SouthernMama15 said). Hang In there! There's a light at the end of your tunnel.

I agree the pillow between your legs and under belly doesn't always work, plus it makes switching sides in the middle of the night that much harder. If you try to angle yourself so you can lean back on some pillows it can help because you are not laying directly on your hip.
Agree on the heartburn. I thought it had gotten better there for a while but the last few days it has come back with a vengeance. Now starting to get it after lunch that lasts through the night. Taking advice from @breanna428 and currently eating an apple to see if it will help. Tums sometimes work but only for a little while. What's the other stronger stuff that you can still take while pregnant, Zantac?
Also agree on the hip pain. Even with a pregnancy pillow I still get it. A lot of times (unknowingly) I'll switch to my back to take the pain away and fall back asleep. I'll wake up hours later still like that and freak out that I've been on my back that long. I wish my sleepy self would stop doing that.
@mrsjqg1024 my doctor approves of Zantac 150. Ive found it works best if I take it a half hour before dinner, especially if it is something I know will give me heartburn (even though that seems like everything nowadays...).
TMI, but I don't remember this happening with my first, but my vagina is so swollen. I noticed it was hurting last night and this afternoon I realized it's super swollen. I'm assuming this is normal given extra blood flow, but owww. I'm already having a ton of pressure and still 5.5 weeks to go
