    Hello ladies!

i see the bean again next Wednesday and I can't wait. My inlaws keep saying it's twins which is getting me mad because there is only one in there. Hopefully this next ultrasound will make them understand. Works been really supportive even though I haven't told them and every time I go to tell them, I chicken out. I'm all but certain they know. I'm also in maternity pants already. So I'm depressed about that lol on a good note I came home from closing the bar Saturday night and DH surprised me with a pregnancy pillow on the bed. He knew I couldn't wait to get one. Just when I was thinking he doesn't understand this whole pregnancy thing he goes and makes me cry lol

QOTW: I have no summer plans but I want to plan a romantic quiet babymoon in the mountains. I live in New England so hoping to rent a cabin in Vermont or something. He's a city boy but loves camping and I hate camping and grew up in the country so go figure lol but I know a few days in a cabin at peace would be amazing for him before we have a preschooler and a newborn to handle.

  • Good morning ladies!  I am 6w today, and felt a bunch of cramping last night that woke me up feeling worried.  Then a wave of morning nausea mad early me feel reassured again.  Funny how MS is sometimes a good thing  :s im really looking forward to our first sono on Monday.

QOTW:  we are planning on taking DS to Disney in California in August. Not really a babymoon, but a funny, much needed, family vacay!  I honestly can't wait.  I've nevertheless been to Disney as an adult, and I hear ignorant is truly magical!! Any advice for a preggo mama to enjoy her time in Disney???

  • Hello All,
I had one frozen embryo transfered on 5/26, we decided to wait until the OB does the gender US to find out the sex of the baby. I have PCOS. My DH and I had tried for over 10 years, with several OBGYNs, 3 fertility specialists, and lots of meds; and this is the first time that we've gotten this far!!!
@mamajenna_cnm I have obsessed over my cramps, but keep telling myself that it is normal in so many circumstances: growing uterus, round ligament, slow bowel, even the progesterone.
I am 6w4d and went for my "heartbeat" ultrasound today! And what a relief! The size is great and the heartbeat was strong! Such an exciting day!

QOTW: No Babymoon plans yet, but we definitely will be planning one. As for the summer, lots of beach trips are in order (we are 10 mins away from my favorite beach) and hopefully I won't have too much nausea so that I can enjoy going out on our little boat. We'll see! ;-)
  • @heatherdubrow I peed on a wondfo every morning until my first US, FX for awesome numbers tomorrow!
@eggplantface I feel the same way, I didn't really let myself do anything because it was too sad and I also felt like it was bad luck and now I am freaking out trying to find an OB and worrying about how small our apt is. We have some time though! (except for OB of course)
@SunflowerMama428 a cabin in VT would be so nice, we are probably going to do something similar. If you go on the VT state parks website, some of the state parks have cabins and even cottages to rent in their camping areas and they are pretty inexpensive and you get all of the park's amenities as well! Both my parents and my inlaws asked about twins, I think people of that generation hear IVF or fertility treatments and just assume multiples, still annoying though!

I am 7w1d, feeling ok. I get really nervous if I feel too good, but then get hit with some symptom and feel more reassured. Been having a lot of cramping and twinges but its all pretty mild and I assume is stretching/rlp/etc. I have an US on Monday, and then one the following week and then released to OB!

We are planning on vacation in August, probably Vermont, and we have a wedding in Vermont in September that we will probably extend for another few days of mini vacation. IDK if we will do a proper babymoon but maybe a night or two in a more luxurious place than usual ( usual being camping )

@eggplantface OH MY GOD! I hear you, I forgot about all the actual pregnant preparation, or really we chose to not think about it because it felt so far away. I was an idiot and waited to call OBGYNs until I was discharged from my RE at 7 weeks and couldn't get in with anyone really. Even the one I went to as a GYN couldn't get me in until 12 weeks (which made my IF brain freak the F out). I found another office that is about 30 minutes away to see me next week, and then I will probably make the move back to my original office, not sure yet. I am so pissed they made me wait until 12 weeks, and I dropped that I just finished IVF....she could care less! Also, thanks for reminding me about daycare, forgot about that too...

@jensjourney I am the same way, I enjoy my food aversions and random gagging, it makes me feel like stuff is going on in there.

@heatherdubrow good luck at your beta! I wish I could say it gets better, but even after the first ultrasound I still find myself doubting it...I wish I could be more positive. All we can do is take one step at a time.

@SunflowerMama428 What a sweet thing for your H to do  Also, a bunch of people kept saying the twins thing to me too, everyone assumes IVF = twins...annoying!

I am 8 weeks today! It feels like such a big milestone. Today on my Ovia app a little hand and foot popped up and I just about died. So sweet. I have my first OBGYN appointment next Tuesday and have absolutely no idea what they do at this appointment, I actually find that I know nothing at all about pregnancy, I have tried to ignore it for so long because of the pain. I guess I should start reading.

What do you guys think about this, should I go to the hospital that is close by with the MDs I really dislike, or a hospital about 35-40 minutes away with a midwife/obgyn group that I like a lot more! Please tell me, I can't make decisions myself....

Heading to Maine for July 4th weekend, excited about that, no excited about flying :scream: Other than that nothing big planned for the rest of it.

  • @Zoey1019 Yes, I'm right there with you, I know nothing about pregnancy, hence I have three books now. My RE hasn't told me when I'd be released to an OB so now you have me nervous I'll have to wait a while to get an appointment, but I don't even know when that appointment should be! Re: your question, I am driving about 30-45 minutes to go to a hospital/OB practice that I like because where I live there are crappy options. **TW death** And by crappy I mean the closest hospital to my house had an outbreak of some bacteria in the NICU that killed some babies so I'll be damned if I'm going anywhere near that hospital!!! **end TW I have to have a c-section because of previous surgeries on my uterus, so I'm not worried about going into labor and needing to get there in a hurry, which I'm guessing is one of your concerns about the distance.

@heatherdubrow I can't wait to hear your beta!! Good luck!

  • @Zoey1019 BC I'm a midwife and I'm quite biased...I would go with the midwife/OBGYN group.  You'll have a much better experience having prenatal care with a group that you are already open to and happy to see rather than someone you feel like you have to see.  Your provider will help you with planning when it comes to you distance from the hospital in preparation for your birth.  I see numerous patients who live as far as one hour away, but come to our practice just for the midwives, and end up saying they wouldn't have changed it for any reason at all!
  • @eggplantface Wow! That is a really scary story (about the hospital)! Thank you for sharing your opinion! I am feeling better and better about going with the group I like rather than the closer hospital. Also, I know us IF folk hate "jinxing" ourselves, but I would call and just make your first OB appointment just in case. Over my dead body was I waiting until week 12, I am a very high maintenance patient...they don't even know what is coming to them! That office that was making me wait was the ones I don't want to see, so thankfully I won't deal with them again most likely.

@mamajenna_cnm Thank you for your response!!! I am glad we have our own midwife here for questions!

I always feel like I get so behind on this thread because of work. I usually lurk through the board at 3 am when I'm out of work and can't sleep so just know I'm silently supporting lol

    @heatherdubrow congrats on your beta!

@jensjourney this nice weather has been killing our business. We hope for rain lol. Our main competition is an outside beer garden and really who can blame people for wanting to be outside in this nice weather! We had a random rain storm and everyone ran into our bar like soaked cats. It was quiet comical.

Eta: it cut off half my post.

Hi ladies, I woke up with some dark brown bleeding and cramping last night and now I'm a nervous wreck.  I contacted my RE this am and she seems optimistic still. My US is still schedule for Monday unless the bleeding becomes bright red or heavy.  I hope everything is ok!  Praying for strong pregnancy symptoms today just to give me peace if mind!

  • @mamajenna_cnm FWIW Ive had brown spotting with every one of my IVF pregnancies. My nurse said the progesterone can make your cervix more vascular. Hope your RE is able to reassure you. Mine says most IVF pregnancies have some kind of early bleeding.

  • @mamajenna_cnm I had some pink/brown spotting last weekend with a bit of red thrown in, mild cramps for a few minutes every day, and all is well. It's hard not to think the worst, but remember you're pregnant today!

  • hey ladies! this was my first pregnancy struggling with IF. in 2014 we spontaneously conceived twins, they were stillborn at 20 weeks and me second pregnancy we conceived pretty quick. this time around was a different story. my cycle was so wonky and all over so I went to a specialist who gave me a dx of pcos. we did 3 cycles of Clomid then switched to famara with the trigger shot. I go Monday morning for my first beta test 2 days ago that came back positive!
    good luck ladies!
