Re: 7 Month Check-in
when did your LO turn 7 months?
May 23rd
height/weight/clothing size?
I'm guessing almost 15 lbs and about 26 inches. Clothing varies 3-6, 6-9 months
milestones?
Sits unassisted and does not stay still, Pulls herself up to stand, eating solids, able to crawl a few paces. Crawling was completely unexpected because she has not been doing the rocking thing at all, and I really thought she'd be one of those babies that pretty much skipped crawling and went straight to walking.
what are LO's favourite things (toys, activities, etc)?
Giving kisses, the bouncer, going outside, going for walks, wrestling with Daddy, standing
what is your biggest challenge?
Sleep, but that has improved a lot. She's been waking only once in the MOTN and has been doing well at putting herself to sleep for bed. Naps are probably the biggest challenge. They take more work getting her to sleep and H has a really hard time being able to lay her down. So he basically lays with her every time but I told him he is going to have to figure out a way to break that.
GTKY: what was favourite vacation? And if you could vacation anywhere now where would it be?
Favorite was Cancun, Mexico. It was probably the cheapest trip we've been on, but it was SO fun! If I could go anywhere now it would be Italy. I want to take a long trip and visit Rome, Venice, and Florence.

TTC#2 April 2019@kristah2 my cousin got married on the Amalfi coast. It was one of the top 3 weddings I've ever attended.
Saturday May 27th
height/weight/clothing size?
26.75in, 16lb, a mix of 3-6mo and 6-9mo clothes and 6-9mo or 9-12mo sleepers. We have to usually size up the sleepers because he is long.
milestones?
Crawling like crazy. Pulling up on the couch and "cruising" he can't quite stand on his own yet because balance but he's really trying. Bottom front 2 teeth are in.
what are LO's favourite things (toys, activities, etc)?
He lives the little monkey that's in his car seat. It plays a little snip from Fur Elise about he lights up. He also lives splashing in the pool and chasing after big brothers.
what is your biggest challenge? Getting him to eat purees instead of just nursing. He loves his milkies but we need to be eating more solid food soon. Also, sleep! Getting this kid to sleep in his crib is like torture!
GTKY: what was favourite vacation? And if you could vacation anywhere now where would it be?
Favorite so far would be my honeymoon to Vegas. It was really special for many reasons.
I want to go to Australia. It will happen someday.
when did your LO turn 6 months?
may 26!
height/weight/clothing size?
still mostly 3-6 month clothing though some is getting tight! Roughly 16.5 lbs and 66.5 cm
milestones?
sitting unassisted. Closer to crawling.
what are LO's favourite things (toys, activities, etc)?
loves anything oball! Loves bathtime! Eating! And putting everything in his mouth.
what is your biggest challenge?
to get him to stop pulling the dogs fur. Stop eating everything like dust bunnies.
GTKY: what was favourite vacation? And if you could vacation anywhere now where would it be?
probably our honeymoon in Italy! We basically ate our way around and just enjoyed time together! A close second would be our wedding cruise. if I could go anywhere now it would be to Turks and Caicos! Or Paris!
Today, June 1!
height/weight/clothing size?
No idea, but she is in 9-12 month clothes.
milestones?
2 teeth. Putting herself to sleep for most naps and bed time. STTN last night!!! Starting to crawl (inching forward in combo with rolling and pushing off with her feet). Kind of getting herself to a sitting position? It's like a model pose with her on her elbow
what are LO's favourite things (toys, activities, etc)?
Moving! She is all over the house. Whatever big brother is playing with. Swimming!
what is your biggest challenge?
Still, juggling two. Feeling like I'm constantly failing someone. Not losing my patience/temper because someone is always crying, whining, demanding, crawling on me, needing something, etc. Finding time for self-care.
GTKY: what was favourite vacation? And if you could vacation anywhere now where would it be?
Not really a vacation, but in college I spent a month in Ireland and LOVED it! I want to go back sooooooo bad. If I could vacation anywhere now, I would probably choose somewhere tropical ... The Maldives maybe?
Yesterday 1st June
height/weight/clothing size?
No idea, we have a check up on the 8th.
Clothes vary from 62 to 74, so 3 different sizes.
milestones?
We've got two bottom teeth. Besides that it feels like we are standing still.
Guess as she started rolling and moving so early on she decided to take a break.
what are LO's favourite things (toys, activities, etc)?
All her toys, she moves from one to another when she's on the floor. Randomly picking as she moves backwards and never ends up where she was planning.
Loves reading too.
what is your biggest challenge?
Her drinking enough as she hasn't got time. Also her frustration as she moves the 'wrong' way.
GTKY: what was favourite vacation? And if you could vacation anywhere now where would it be?
I've travelled to a few places meeting up with friends, each place has been wonderful because of the company. I'd love to visit Australia once though. My next trip will be San Francisco in August.
**********************************************************************************************************************************
height/weight/clothing size? No idea (probably still between 14 and 15 lbs), 3-6 month clothes
milestones? Working on sitting and crawling - not quite there on either one, but she is an expert at scooting backwards and rolling around.
what are LO's favourite things (toys, activities, etc)? Watching her Aba play the hand drum (or others at Synagogue), her walker, Flynn our cat, books, singing, the monkey on her carseat
what is your biggest challenge? I think she's just finishing up leap 5 (since she was 4 weeks early, she tends to be behind on some of those things), so patience with her sudden increased fussiness. Also, patience with solids because I just want her to dig in, and she's a bit more cautious. Self-care.
GTKY: what was favourite vacation? And if you could vacation anywhere now where would it be? Favourite vacation was South Carolina with DH 8 years ago. Warm beach and water, charming bookshop complete with cat, too much sweet tea, and no obligations. Second favourite was France after HS, especially the days spent in Chamonix. I have so many places I want to go, but if I had to choose, probably Spain. I'm so intrigued by tapas (free food with drink order!).
(@kristah2 - I love that you spelled favourite the non-American way - I've always prefered the "u" in there!)
Height/weight/clothing size?: No height and weight recently (13 lbs at 6 months) but we're nearly out of 6 month clothes and headed to 9 month
Milestones: Cruising! Girlfran is a mobile maniac and crawling everywhere! Just like her big sister did, she learned to crawl and started pulling up on anything she could get her hands on within days. I can see her think about standing without assist too...I'm so not ready for that!
What are LO's favorite things?: Can I say me? Ha! Other than me (and my boobs) she loves paper and anything crinkly. Her Little Einstein's Take Along Tunes is a big hit, as are big sister's Little People and small princess dolls (all are bigger than her palm, we had to hide the tiny toys!).
What is your biggest challenge?: Sleep, probably. Although, that's getting better. We're finally not waking 7+ times a night and it's 1-2, which is doable. Other than sleep, when Evelyn cries, she does so with a fierce determination and with everything within her, and that is hard, especially since I deal with it on my own a lot because hubby works so much.
GTKY: What was your favorite vacation? Oh my goodness, ladies! My husband and I just went on a vacation to Maui JUST THE TWO OF US!! It was heavenly! We celebrated our 10 year anniversary there and we had never done a "real" vacation in our marriage and it was such a wonderful chance for us to reconnect and have fun as two individuals who still really, really like each other!
Welcomed baby girl: 06.10.14
Second pregnancy EDD: 06.16.16 MC: 10.29.15
Welcomed baby boy: 11.25.16
height/weight/clothing size? 26", 15lbs, 6 month or 6-9 month clothing.
milestones? She is such a mover! She does not stay still. She will crawl over whatever is in her way. Almost STTN (7:30pm-5:00am)
what are LO's favourite things (toys, activities, etc)? She loves the water.
what is your biggest challenge? Still trying to keep up with all the housework/cooking/finances. Basically I am our household manager and its a lot to keep up with.
GTKY: what was favourite vacation? And if you could vacation anywhere now where would it be? Well I enjoyed our honeymoon in the Dominican Republic but I would say my favorite was Arizona. We tagged along with my parents. We did a lot of hiking, saw the Grand Canyon, walked around Jerome, and so much more. Also it was football season so we found a bar that was airing the game and met some fellow GB Packer fans! I'm not huge on traveling so I don't even know, maybe out to Colorado to snowboard!

TTC#2 April 2019Saturday, June 17th
height/weight/clothing size?
not sure on the height/weight but in onesies and rompers, she still fits in 3-6 months. Pants or dresses, she's in at least 6-9.
milestones?
A is obsessed with crawling. She can't stop moving.
what are LO's favourite things (toys, activities, etc)?
Her thumb mainly. She loves her jumparoo and loves the dog and the cat. She also has started screeching, particularly first thing in the morning.
Juggling my mom, the baby, my husband. We're looking at homes on Thursday for my mom so that should ease some of it.
GTKY: what was favourite vacation? And if you could vacation anywhere now where would it be?
We went to Chile, Argentina and Uruguay for our honeymoon and it was probably the best 3 weeks of my life. We're seeing friends we met from that trip get married in September in Vancouver so I'm excited for that. My husband and I were actually singing the Chile song this morning on our way to work. But if I could be anywhere at this moment, I'd be in england with my family.
milestones? Sits up completely on his own, on the verge of crawling, two little teeth!
what are LO's favourite things (toys, activities, etc)? Loves going to the grocery store and talking to all the old ladies, loves the pool, anything he can chew on
what is your biggest challenge? Keeping him entertained all day
GTKY: what was favourite vacation? And if you could vacation anywhere now where would it be? We went to Greece for our honeymoon and it was awesome! The Greeks are the most hospitable people I've ever met. If I could go anywhere now I'd probably go to the Maldives. No baby allowed.
I'm guessing he's over 20lbs but not sure. He's in 18 month clothes now
He sits up on his own now, sleeps through the night and can put himself back to sleep if he wakes up.
Favorite things include his sister, sweet potatoes, bouncing and me (yay!)
Biggest challenge is pumping at this point. I hate it but don't want to give up yet either.
Favorite vacation was to Belieze, sea kayaking and river kayaking. It was quite an adventure. If I could go anywhere right now I'd like to go to Thailand.
height/weight/clothing size? Around 17lbs and 6 month clothes. Not sure on height but he's been short all but at his 1 week visit haha
milestones? Sits up now for a long period of time though he'll fall over reaching for stuff; army crawls and I can tell he wants to do more; has 1 tooth just starting to come through
what are LO's favourite things (toys, activities, etc)? He really likes going for walks/being outside; he likes toys that spin or things he can hit.
what is your biggest challenge? His sleep is still a bit inconsistent so that is tough. Otherwise just balancing working full-time and taking care of him, I can't seem to get in a workout anymore bc of work being too busy
GTKY: what was favourite vacation? And if you could vacation anywhere now where would it be? Our first trip to Mexico was awesome although Hawaii last year was cool too, so I'm not sure which I choose. If I could go anywhere it would be a beach somewhere new, and far away, oh and kid free (sorry B!), maybe Australia or one of those over water things in Bora Bora
height/weight/clothing size? Approximately 29 inches, 24 lbs 13 oz. Squeeeezing into some 9 mo, but mostly 12 mo.
milestones? She claps on command when we say "yaaay" or "clap clap clap" - DH sent me a video while I was at work the other day and I cried. This was the month we put her in the crib, I think, and she's slept through the night from the first time (poor girl was ready to be rid of us hahah). We've been doing puree at least once a day. Not a good milestone, IMO, but she definitely digs the Sprout channel/watching some of the shows
what are LO's favourite things (toys, activities, etc)? She loves water - swimming, bathing, drinking - rifling through and dumping out her little toy bin, reading, playing her drum.
what is your biggest challenge? I feel like the days and weeks are just getting busier. And lately, pumping.
GTKY: what was favourite vacation? And if you could vacation anywhere now where would it be? We went to Athens-Mykonos-Santorini for two weeks in October 2014. Whether was perfect (still hot), and it was cheaper and much less crowded than the peak summer months. That was our last Eurotrip... I'd love to be on one now!
(Sheesh, i've been working on this post for days.)
ETA photo
Edit again - i didnt realize the question said 6 months. Panicked that I'd posted in the wrong thread, haha! Changed to 7
height/weight/clothing size? I'm unsure how much they have grown from their 24" but my son weighed in at 16lbs a week ago, and my daughter 14lbs.
milestones? They both giggle a little on and off, my son holds his own bottle for a few weeks now. Otherwise all normal
what are LO's favourite things (toys, activities, etc)?
Attention! One loves toys they can grab and swing and just bring in the playmat rolling around. the other one on one affection, just loves being held instead.
what is your biggest challenge? We are still working in sitting up, and getting one of them to roll over. Our daughter also cries( no tears of course) and screams at everyone but us, so she's a challenge, especially when we want someone else to hold her. Someone could simply look at her and make eye contact to set her off.
GTKY: what was favourite vacation? And if you could vacation anywhere now where would it be? My favorite vacation was camping, but now I would love love love to be at the beach, just relaxing to the warmth and the sound of waves crashing to shore and the salt in the air..
height/weight/clothing size? Around 16 lb and 6 month clothes. Not sure on height!
milestones? Rolling all over the room and playing with random table legs, drawer handles, etc. Sitting for longer periods of time (but still falls). Also just figured out how to undo his velcro cloth diaper covers so that's great....haha.
what are LO's favourite things (toys, activities, etc)? He really likes going outside. Or just leaving the house in general. Loves the grocery store and is so interested in everything.
what is your biggest challenge? MOTN wake ups! He still wakes twice at night to nurse but I feel like he doesn't really need it. He used to always wake around midnight and 4 but some days his first wake up is at 10...he definitely should not be hungry already since his bedtime feed is around 7. Hoping he grows out of it soon without too much of a fight.
GTKY: what was favourite vacation? And if you could vacation anywhere now where would it be? I haven't done a whole lot of traveling but had a great road trip with H to the mountains and did some winery tours in BC two summers ago, which was great!
I got that as a tip with my 7 month check up. Not that it worked for me, so I give her now half a bottle and she starts skipping MOTN feeds. Apparently it helps to make it less interesting for them to wake up.
It also might help to send in DH, as he's not the walking food delivery guy.
I notice that if I walk in the room at night and she's fuzzing but need a little help that she goes ballistic if I don't give her a bottle, eventhough before I walked in she was just looking for a dummy.
As lack of DH I haven't tried the latter, there's no one else to send. But might be worth a try for you!
**********************************************************************************************************************************
I have sent DH in a couple times but I think we should try to be more consistent with it. I don't mind feeding him at night because he's pretty small still but he needs to go longer than 3 hours haha thanks for the tips!!
My LO is 8 months now and only skipped her MOTN for 3 days now.
Id give her a dreamfeed at 11pm an if i was lucky she'd sleep until 4am. But often thought it would nice to see me at 2am too.
Must admit a sleepy baby cuddles at night were very lovely too!

TTC#2 April 2019When he wakes in the MOTN though, he cries like someone is murdering him until I feed him. I think he is waking out of habit but I don't understand why he can't put himself back to sleep. I've tried CIO in the MOTN but its sooo hard...way harder than naps or bedtime (I need sleep, my DH needs sleep, and crying seems that much worse at night). Once he cried for an hour straight and I couldn't handle it anymore. Do I need to just power through and do CIO at night? I mean I don't want to starve him but he should be able to last longer than 3-4 hours!
She went from dreamfeed at 22:30 and a bottle at 4am to sleeping from 07:30 to 07:00! (Mind you I've also added fruit, bread and dinner during the day!)
