I just have to say I told DH about the pointing down thing and he goes, "I could've told you that." Right, because you recall being in diapers/have changed a diaper? Now I wish I hadn't told him so I could gloat (if we have a boy) because I am 100% sure he would not realize to do this! Lol.
Thank you ladies for all of the #boytruths, when I found out we were having a boy its taken me some time to process... I'll have to look to my MIL and other friends since I have a sister and I'm not sure what my mom is going to do with a grandson... yikes.
At what point do I need to get a prenatal massage rather than a regular massage or deep tissue?
Yes. My OB practice recommends no massages til 13 weeks, then prenatal massage is ok. There are pressure points that can bring on contractions so you want to make sure your masseuse knows what they are doing

@amcsquared My midwife was more laid back about massages and had no problem with me getting them during the first tri. They said the main reason for switching to prenatal is that it becomes difficult to lay on your stomach so you want something who's good with positioning. I'm 17 weeks now and couldn't lay on my stomach for an hour massage so I'd probably have to get prenatal now. It's always interesting to compare what the different providers recommend for different things!
@blueskies17 I never felt like I "needed" them but I did love the 3 pack I bought near the end of my last pregnancy. They were low and went under my belly and just fit in all the right ways!
@blueskies17 that's such a great question bc I already noticed my ass getting huge from my new need to eat everything. I've fallen into plumbers Crack category with most of my undies

I had my first ever massage Sunday and it was a prenatal. She just did my neck/shoulders, back, hips (while working on my back) and legs/feet, and stayed away from the ankles. I read the dicey pressure points mentioned above were around the ankles so I was glad I didn't have to say anything specifically to her.
They had me lay on my side and had a big comfy pillow to prop up my not-yet-big belly, and told me to put the topmost leg over it. I can imagine that would be a nice, comfortable position once bumps get bigger.

@blueskies17 I appreciated larger size underwear after birth. Whether vaginal or csection, you'll want some undies that are nice and roomy, just so much more comfortable post partum!
I never had maternity underwear with DD. I always wore bikini and they wen tuned rmy bump. I ended up with a c section. Then I had to go buy granny panties because my old ones rolled into my scar. Anyway, I'll be ordering me some post pregnancy c section panties this time. We'll see about maternity in a few months.
Guys... postpartum you get mesh panties. Ask for extra and hoard the shit out of them. I stole a bunch from work last time and I will be stealing a tonne more this time. They are the best. So if you're buying mat panties for postpartum, just hold out for the mesh ones!

@AMCsquared haha you're lucky because I don't have an ass. If anything it might be getting flatter!
