I swore I'd do this post a while ago, but you know how life gets, well, you know... so without further ado: here's our place to spit ball/think about/complain about/ask questions about/ and lurk about Whole30.

Re: Whole30
But I do want to get rid of that belly and those tights that mysteriously have grown to each other!
So I have to study it a wee bit to see what I can eat and not loose all my B12 and so on.
Have you ladies done this before?
What was your biggest challenge?
**********************************************************************************************************************************
The gist of what you eat:
protein - all kinds of meat
vegetables- minus legumes and corn
fruit - though not in huge quantities
good fats - coconut, avocado, cashews, etc.
For me, the challenges were 1.) hidden sugars and 2.) eating out (at first).

Plantain chips
Dried mango
Ground turkey sautéed with peppers (good for all meals, especially good with shredded cabbage and eggs!)
So many eggs
Sweet potatoes
Compliant turkey lunch meat
Macadamia nuts
Nom nom paleo Magic Mushroom powder (but, honestly, all of her W30 recipes are amazing!)
The hardest part of a Whole30 is the prep work. There is no convenience! I'd love to do one again, but it's so freaking time consuming and I can't wrap my head around one more thing to do right now. Someday, though, hopefully soon!
Oh, and if you are a sugar coffee drinker, you'll have a hard time! Black coffee is the way to go!

29 more days to go!!

I am still hoping to start one next week. I just need to get through DD's birthday party and hit up the grocery store.
@tvh1982 How are you feeling? I think days 2 and 3 are the "kill all the things" stage...

Ive never diet in my life and not eating bread or pasta is killing me. I'm hungry ALL the time!
I made banana pancakes this morning (more scrambled eggs/banana...I need practice) and some fruits, yet it wasn't bread. Had homemade soup, but without focaccia
Im slowly dying here!
Tomorrow my BIL will be 40, so let's see how I manage when the snacks are placed on the table. But have to keep going as I'll be finished the day before my parents 25th wedding day (second marriage, I'm not THAT young!)
That stomach better be flat by then!

Also paleo pancakes are technically not aloud (SWYPO), that being said I had them on occasion because I do not have that emotional connection to pancakes. in fact it isn't really something I eat outside of Whole30. My tips for paleo pancakes is to add coconut flour or almond flour to the banana/egg mixture to thicken it a bit. I also add a lot of cinnamon to the mixture for flavor and cook with Ghee.
As a reminder each meal should have protein and veggies. So you will want to try and add some veggies on the side to that breakfast if possible.
ETA Good luck tomorrow! You got this! Bring food with to the party so you have options in case nothing there is Whole30 approved.

Scrambled eggs and a banana separated it is tomorrow.
No emotional connection here either. I only occasionally make them if I have my nieces over. (And it was what I sometimes managed to eat when being pregnant and suffering from HG)
What does SWYPO mean @m6agua?
Great tip on the bringing food.
My sister loves to put out veggies and dip, so I just need to stay clear of the dip. But definitely need something for dinner!
