I'm with you ladies on sitting down at concerts. We ended up in the nosebleeds at Garth Brooks and *still* had folks wanting to stand up the whole time in front of us!
My UO is I think its silly for a husband and wife to have a joint Facebook account. It tells me that either someone has jealousy issues or that someone cheated and now they have to have a joint account. I've seen an exception or two, but for the most part, that's what I think when I see a joint account.
@CANTW82BMOM do you mean like 2nd shower for baby #1 Or a second shower because it's #2.
I give a side eye to people who have a shower with every child they have unless there is a large age gap (7+ years). As far as having multiple showers for #1, I think that is pretty standard. Both DH and I have large families and a lot of friends. For DD1 we ended up with three showers. One for my side (50+ people), one for his side (50+) and one with our friends (30+). Having them all together would have been a small wedding reception.
Pineapple on pizza is one of the best things in life. Hawaiian has always been my go-to flavor. Can't get behind the jalapeños, though. Too spicy. My most recent favorite (before pregnancy made me hate pizza) was pineapple with black olives. Deadpool inspired me to try it, and it's SO good!
@Ready4theParty I meant a shower for a second pregnancy. One of the exceptions being exactly what you mentioned, a large age gap. Otherwise, you should still have your large items from your first baby and expect to buy anything else you need. Most friends and relatives will still buy you items for your new baby. I always get gifts for my friends babies, no matter how many kids they have...but I'm not coming to your second shower when you have an 18 month old at home.
@CANTW82BMOM I'm probably having a shower for #2 but I'm generally on the same page as you. The reason I'm probably having one is that we now live in a different state and the people we associate with have never given me a shower. And I'm definitely not asking for one, but I get the feeling it will happen for that reason.
@madcouplewithabox Generally I can take or leave conceI finally found a couple of bands that I want to see every time they are in town. Right about the time we got our BFP we got tickets to one of them and I told DH that I was excited to go and see how baby reacts to the music.
@CANTW82BMOM I agree with you. My exceptions are a decent age gap or a new relationship. My XFSIL was given one for my niece even though it was her 3rd baby because it was her first girl and because she and BIL were having their first. My friend just had one because her daughter is 6 and she and her new husband were having a baby together (a boy).
That said, a simple get-together to celebrate new babies doesn't bother me. DH's cousin and her DH had their 2nd together (his 3rd) last year and they threw a small informal party to announce the gender and celebrate her DH's birthday. There was a raffle if you brought diapers but that was the extent of it and we had a lot of fun!
@trudytudy I might. I would much prefer a more casual, co-ed get-together than a traditional shower. But the truth is, we don't have much space at all. I can't even put together a nursery so it takes the fun out of having a shower when it means putting all that cute baby stuff right into storage. It just brings flashbacks of my IF days with my "someday" boxes. Big point of contention in our house right now.

I agree with it being silly! Especially when only one person uses it. The other person obviously doesn't care....
@trudytudy same here on the concerts! Although I've never liked them. I love music, love to sing, and I love people, but it's the crowd that does it for me. If it's a really small venue, I'm in, but really anything with huge crowds, I'm not a huge fan.
My UO is that pizza y'all are taking about up there makes me want to gag. Haha. I CANNOT do pineapple on a pizza!
