Both our crib and my clothes from MM are on the truck for delivery today and
Coincidentally, today is also bulk trash pickup day so we took apart the (very cheap and not worth trying to sell) guest bed and stuck it outside. Can't wait for the nursery to look like a nursery!
Winning: I made a Summer Rules/Chore chart for the girls. They just complete everything before going on their phones/iPads. Today is the first day. It's almost 9 am and they're on their last two things- reading for 20 minutes and 20 minutes of play either outside or the playroom.
WTF: last night was horrible at work. Hor-ri-ble!! We had a show ticket but inventory issue which means one of the shows for this weekend couldn't be sold for any additional. Only people who have paid their fee and get included tickets could pick up. This is causing major issues with parents who absolutely have to have great aunt Maeve come to watch their special snowflake for 2 minutes. I get he brunt of all the " why wasn't there a warning...." and " maybe it should be a bigger venue" comments. Two more nights guys and I'm free!!!
@dumbledoredies follow me here....DH's cousin had a friend/teammate in college that we got to know pretty well (we live close to where she chose to go to school). That friend/teammate is coming back in the area to take a summer course at a community college and needed a place to stay - we told her she could stay with us and she offered to help out around the house with cooking/cleaning/getting ready for baby/taking care of the dogs/taking care of DD in exchange for a place to stay for the summer.
Soooooo free help in exchange for room & board. I don't hate it. DD is super, super, super excited.
BFP#1: 12/3/13 EDD 8/15/13. Heartbeat found on 12/26/13, HB gone on 1/4/13. D&C 1/7/13
BFP#2: 4/19/13 EDD 12/28/13. Team Green for pregnancy and Baby Girl arrived 12/21/13. BFP#3: 2/9/13 EDD 10/18/17. Team Green for Round 2!
Win: We finally booked our San Diego hotel and my plan of waiting til the last minute worked because there were only a few left available so DH couldn't balk at the price, and we're staying at one of my favorite La Jolla hotels
WTF: My boss mansplained feminism to me. It was such a bizarre experience. He told me this is the best time in history for girls to be born because feminism is finally allowing women to embrace their femininity AND be powerful and independent. I was like ... kind of ... and he launched into a lecture specifically calling out a female partner at the firm as "masculine" and telling me she must be that way because when she was coming up through the ranks femininity was still devalued. I happen to know this partner fairly well and she's a bit androgynous but that's just her style. So offensive. I kept trying to interrupt him to participate in the conversation but he was just interested in educating me about what it means to be a woman in the world.
Winning Wednesday: Talking to our lender today about what we may get approved for and then we'll officially be in the rat race for a home!
WTF: Woke up with some swollen gums, no clue why. They are a little tender and now I think my teeth are going to fall out and i'll go into preterm labor.
@VLillyV yay for getting the home buying process started! Swollen gums are a super normal pregnancy symptom, actually. I get them off and on, too. eta: my dentist reassured me that it's completely normal.
In an attempt to put myself back in a happy mood, here's another winning Wednesday: yesterday I ran out of my Anastasia brow wiz pencil/pen, but didn't feel like finding a Sephora and spending $20+, so I decided to try a Nyx version out at CVS for less than $10. It is the same exact thing and works just as well!
@bluejeanbabi05 thanks for the vibes.. unfortunately, the "winning" just turned into a wtf/losing situation for us. Our call with the lender did not go well and to make a long story short, it looks like we're not going anywhere and will need to put this off another year at least.
@VLillyV I'm sorry to hear that If you have some cash you can throw down up-front, maybe you can explore an owner-financed purchase or a lease option? Owner-financed can sometimes gouge you but there are some great lease option opportunities out there -- we've offered them in the past because they can be such a win-win.
@migdala thanks for the suggestion, I really have no clue where to go from here. I get to have a long serious talk with DH later on to figure it out. I will bring that option to the table though, it's better then nothing.
WTF - I was just informed that I have to be in an all day training session tomorrow at work! May be a little quiet on here tomorrow. And all day? I'm too ADD for that.
Winning: new OB finallyyyyy scheduled me and looks like I'll get another A/S because they didn't get enough views of the heart (smh at old OB not mentioning this.) and they managed to squeeze me in before my overseas flight so I'll get to discuss with them.
WTF: tailbone pain. I was doing just fine without you jerkface.
Win: my insurance actually covers my chiropractor this time!
WTF: I drove through Panera for lunch. Ordered a half salad and half sandwich. Got back to my office and sat down to eat it and they only put the salad in my bag. I basically paid $11 for a half salad and I'm still hungry.
@bluejeanbabi05 we can go to another lender but I am a little shaken already as it is. I don't know if the risk is worth my credit score being pulled again. Tricky tricky!
@VLillyV There may be some lenders that can give you an idea of what they could offer you based on an estimate of your credit score. They'd have to pull it eventually but if it's a for sure no you wouldn't need to bother. Our bank did this. The other bank should have told you your credit score.
@VLillyV sorry about the news you received. Another vote for finding a new lender for a new opinion. They are not all created equal. Did you just speak with a specific bank, or talk to an actual mortgage broker?
My winning: I started working on a really fun project with another team a few weeks ago, and I mentioned it in passing to my boss but didn't give details or ask permission. Today it came up again and it turns out she's really excited about the project and supportive of me working on it.
My WTF: DH has the car for work today and I had an OB appt so I took Lyft there and back. Coming back took 3x as long as it should have cause the driver had no idea where she was going and was blindly relying on Waze. I was already nauseous from the glucose test and all of the u-turns and hard stops did not help. Eventually, I took over navigation and made it home. I love the convenience of Lyft but miss the expertise of taxi drivers who actually know how to drive.
@VLillyV Agreed on getting another opinion. If you have a relationship with a local banker, that could help. If you are a Costco member, they have an affiliate program with competitive rates that's worth exploring. You would put in your credit score, etc. and they would only show you lenders/rates that will work with you. Zillow/Trulia has a similar affiliate tool but the rates can be all over the place. Credit Unions also can offer great rates and flexibility on how much they will approve you for.
Also, if the lender didn't already explain the factors that led to the decision, make sure you have a conversation with him about it and understand what you can do to improve your attractiveness to lenders. Also, a hard pull or two barely affects your credit, so don't worry about doing it again. If you do several within a few weeks it's obvious that it's because you are shopping around lenders and it's NBD.
WTF to my cleaner who has only been here once and already postponed this week's clean. Woman I need you. So now I'm vaccuuming the house in sections and taking rests in between. I do not want to be doing this. #FWP
WTF DH. This always happens I swear. He just texts me from work and says he's thinking about buying the exact gift I just got him for Fathers Day. So I had to be the bitch wife to tell him no he can't buy that. Get with the program DH. Father's Day is FOUR DAYS AWAY. STOP BUYING THINGS FOR YOURSELF AROUND HOLIDAYS AND YOUR BIRTHDAY.
WTF!!!! My 3 year old Air Conditioner is not working. The company that I bought it from sold and transferred clients to another company whose mailbox is full when I try to call and leave a message! UGH.
WTF... I was looking at HDBD and I didn't recognize anyone, but I was clicking like anyway and thinking "daaaang these bumps are big!" Aaaand then I realized that somehow I was in August 2017 and not here.
Also WTF... I have been trying for 2 weeks to get an ultrasound scheduled with a high risk place but they have been sending me in circles regarding whether they receiced my fax yet or not. First of all, WTF does it take 2 weeks to process a fax in 2017 and also WTF are they still using faxes for referrals??
I am now 18 weeks, and everything I've read online says that you are supposed to start having ultrasounds every two weeks starting at 16 weeks to monitor for TTTS if you have mo/di twins. My OB is not a high risk OB and has said we'll start monitoring for that "later" so she doesn't seem concerned, and of course I spent last night reading stories of women whose doctors discovered they were in stage 3 at 16-18 weeks and one or both of their twins would have died if they didn't have early monitoring and get laser surgery quickly. What do I do? How do I make someone see me?? . I feel like a drama queen calling up to ask about this after just dealing with my heart issue, but I need to demand that I get seen ASAP right? I'm hoping I can beg my OB to at least get me in and check my fluid levels, because stage 1 is an imbalance in fluid levels and then I'll know how much sh^* to lose on people until I start getting properly monitored.
WTF: Starting tomorrow we're in for 100+ degree weather for at least a week. Sleeping has also been a challenge this week. I can't seem to sleep straight through the night.

My win is that I woke up in a really good mood today.

@purplestarz thank you, and I spoke with an actual broker but they are not connected with a well known bank, it was a private lender
