@PartiallyDomesticated - It does really suck to have such an active group totally switch platforms. Especially when so many people said they'd post to both (a really really tall order once babies are on the outside). I feel less comfortable sharing more personal details on TB (especially squish photos) so that's one reason I've been awol. TB randomly blocks me from signing in every so often, so that's a turn off too.

I'm all for kids being active and playing outside, but my front neighbors are getting on my last nerve. They set up a basketball hoop to play in the street. It is set up just across from my driveway and the kids take their sweet 'ol time moving out if the way when I get home. I always played in the street growing up, but we were quick to "pause" the game and move when cars came by.

I struggle to know what to post here vs FB. I hate to duplicate bc I don't want to make members of both groups read things twice. And I'm also more comfortable with pictures etc on FB. I will really try to make more of an effort here though.

My BF is that my child is a rockstar napper during the day but will. Not. Sleep. At night. Ugh. I don't *think* she's napping too much - I cut them off at 2 hours. Mama needs some sleep over here!!

@shadeorgreen816 same here! Baby easily falls asleep during the day but at night it takes me 20+ minutes of rocking and then the second I put him down and crawl into bed he's grunting or crying. I don't know how he always knows when I put him down, he's a professional .

This is us, DS hates the bassinet. He'll sleep in the RNP during the day, but at night he just hates the bassinet. We're trying to use the bassinet during the day more to get him used to it. I've spent most nights falling asleep in the glider holding him.

Nice to know I'm not alone but yeah, most of my nighttime sleep has been with her on my chest and me sleeping lightly so I don't roll over. It's not ideal. Then the moment the sun comes up she'll sleep anywhere! Ugh she's a drama queen already!

@mcvgal this is my whole neighborhood. I drive slowly to watch for kids but you don't need to let your 3 year old try to steer their power wheel back out of the road by them self!

My other MBF is people who let kids less than 16 drive in the neighborhood. Technically they're not driving a car, but I think a golf cart, atv, or motor bike (dirt bike) still requires knowledge of the rules of the road and those children without a drivers license operating these vehicles are a danger to themselves, other children, me, my vehicle, and property. I HATE that they have free reign. We are in a huge neighborhood with like 150 houses...not some dirt road!

DD has slept in her crib since our first night home, but I was starting to notice she preferred the incline of the RNP. She still doesn't like the crib for napping. But, I started having her nap on the couch (while I am next to her watching tv etc). I think the additional flat surface during the day has helped her night time sleep.

I'm in same boat as most of you. She gets up to cluster feeding or something last few night then falls asleep nursing only to freak out the minute I put her down. Once she's up she needs boob again. Swaddling is annoying af

Re: sleeping...Ollie will sleep in his bassinet during the night with of course his normal waking for feeding and what not. However, during the day is a different story! He'll sleep on me, on a pillow on the couch (me right next to him), or sometimes in his chair that vibrates, but when I put him in the bassinet he wakes up within 10 minutes the little stinker! They say nap when baby naps but how are you supposed to do that when he won't sleep in a true safe space!?

My living room is my world now. I sleep on the couch while DH sleeps in the bedroom. My LO also sleeps like crap during the night in her bassinet. She sleeps in the PNP during the day. Since H has to work early I just found it easier to sleep downstairs. I miss my bed.

My bitch is that I feel like I'm going to regret my maternity leave. I've been helping DH so much with his job that I'm not spending any time doing things that I want to do. I'm kind of tired of putting everyone else's needs above my own.

My 2yo now says "shit" because DH's siblings think it's funny to try to teach her cuss words. She hardly talks and now she's running around my house saying shit. I'm not amused. And the cherry on top? A cousin of mine has been sharing a bunch of white nationalist crap online. I find it a bit disturbing considering that my children and I are multiracial. Lovely start to the week.

@kns1988: I'm sorry to hear that! You should be enjoying your maternity time... or, at the very least, be able to manage the shape it takes. What I mean is: speak up! If you need more "me" time, say something! Tell your hubbs "at 4pm I'm taking an hour to myself" or something like that, with a specificity that is clear and everyone can plan around. Then actually use the time wisely! Don't squander it worrying about everyone. I took 1.5 hours of "me" time (the first time away from the LO!) and spent the first half hour texting back home, checking in, and not really putting the time to good use, and in hindsight they were all fine doing their own thing back home with me out and about. So go shopping, take a nap, exercise, journal, read, bathe, craft... whatever that thing is that you feel you have no time for... please just do it! Don't regret how you're spending these weeks. That'd be the worst. Really, please try to set aside the time. You are worth it! You Know you need to recharge your batteries first, before managing everyone else, so try to Act on that knowledge. Regret's a bitch.

Love this ^^^^ @SKZW such an important reminder to prioritize our time, as it's precious and we certainly can't get it back.

My BF is also about how dead this board is and how much I hate FB for stealing all our mama friends away to Hogwarts.

Not Monday anymore but bitch I must. I'm sooooo sick of wearing a pad! I feel like my lady bits need to air out. I feel like I'm starting to get a yeast infection or BV and I'm done. I'm only 9 days pp so I know I have a while left ahead.

Why now, 5 weeks pp, when I have 1 suture left in place from my second degree tear does it hurt SO much?! (At my pp follow up appt at 4 weeks, she said everything was healing nicely and that there was 1 suture left that she could see and that i should be fully healed by 6 weeks.) I need to take mirror down there to see what's going on! Ugh!

Apparently, it's common when you're breastfeeding because you don't have as much estrogen to balance out the bacteria.

@kns1988 what a bummer. I am prone to BV anyway and this constant moisture and poor ventilation with the pad are not helping! Hopefully I can avoid it. Should probably pick up some probiotics.

It's been so terribly hot and humid here I was thinking the same thing about the pad. Is there anything to do to air it out down there? Or just hope for the best?

I definitely took a peak with the mirror about 1.5 weeks postpartum. I wanted to know what was going on, and it honestly wasn't bad at all. Things looked incredibly normal, except for the couple stitches.

I need to get rid of the pad too! It's gross down there and I've started wondering about the BV too. I don't know how the discharge is supposed to be. It seems to be improving but it's still nasty.

Also so we started to have some diaper rash and it's minor and I'm working hard to air it out at each change and using some diaper cream. I think someone said you had done some diaper free time with baby(@kns1988 ?). How does one accomplish this? Do you put baby on a blanket? Or use some of those burp cloths that are really cloth diapers? I just don't want poop or pee everywhere but I think airing it out will help!

@Jens_Hoes use a hairdryer on the cool setting, after a shower to dry it out a bit if you feel like that's what it needs

@rkstro2, we do some naked baby time every day to air out his diaper area and to give him stimulation. If you have something like a tarp or shower curtain, you could put that down with blankets over it. I just put him on a blanket in his travel basinett, and I'm at the ready to throw a cloth over his penis if he starts peeing. Sometimes I flip him on his stomach and put a cloth on his butt. He usually pees a couple times, but he seems to really enjoy the naked time, and it keeps him very alert.
