The MIL/ Mom issues where my MIL is far more capable of helping out than my mom just due to physical etc shape. So, my mom is already on the defensive about time and everything. My MIL/FIL are so chill, its great. My parents aren't bad but they get limited time with my niece and her 'other' grandparents are all about the spending more $ and time...so it has impacted my parents a lot.
@smallbutmighty77, this is similar to my situation too. MIL, although 10 years older than my mom, is in better physical shape and is able to babysit and run/play with the kids where my mom is unable to. Plus MIL has a lot more money than my mom/stepdad and can do way more monetarily.
I was able to take my wedding rings off last weekend. I really thought I'd feel naked without them, but I don't! *shoulder shrug*
Also, I washed baby's first load of laundry last night! Going to start packing his hospital bag soon. I can't believe how small these outfits are (yes, even as a fourth time mom)!
random: anyone know any great comebacks for people making fun of your hair color? i just colored my hair bright red again and DHs dad hates it ( probably as much as i can't stand him lol)we are going to bible study tonight with them so it's the first time his dad will see it this color again. he always has some stupid comment and DH always takes up for me cause he loves the color. i just wanna say something to him myself. plus i can't wait for the old women at church to look at me like the devil reincarnate ha ha

All I can think of is some lame, "At least I have hair to color," retort. (Is he more or less bald?)
@breanna428 I have had hair every possible color...and people always said stuff to me.
I always said something about my having hair if they didn't or about how some people were born to stand out, my hair just hadn't gotten the memo. If I was cranky I would say something along, 'Yeah you could never pull this off'... You do you!
TW: 1 infant loss 8/17: Our daughter was born 8/18: Our daughter kicked open heart surgery ass 2/19: We lost our son to Prader-Willi/Paradoxical Vocal Cord/ Noonans at 6wks old 4/26/2020: EDD for baby #3!!!
@tova24 Me too...except I have to train my replacement and she constantly looks over my shoulder asking "what are you working on?!" OMG go away. I should be nice to her since she's taking over this monster complicated project from me...
@tova24 and @secicc12 I bump all day! I also make lists, online shop and do a ton of other things when I need to. I do get work done, but I have a lot of waiting around time to get the things I code to build. Plus I eat at my desk, but I bump while I do it.

@secicc12 I don't even know who my fill in will be! My boss is like "we will figure it out soon." He's been saying that since February! Also, I would be super bitchy if someone was watching my every move and asking me questions!
@littlebug2010 me and Amazon need to take a break! I have been ordering too much stuff while at work!
I'm such a dumbass. I wrote something on my whiteboard with marker. A few minutes later, smelled what I thought was burning plastic. I grabbed our facilities guy saying "something smells REALLY WEIRD" can you verify? And as he's walking in I'm like, Oh wait. It's marker.
So the cleaning lady came for the first time today. And just as predicted, I'm hooked. My house hasn't been this clean EVER. Not sure I even know how to act. Lol.
So I'm currently browsing Pinterest for various things and there was a tab under kids about "2 under 2" so I clicked on it. I kid you not, this is the third picture.
I'm trying to decide whether or not to make goody bags for the nurses again. Totally not necessary but I did last time and they LOVED them. They were so good to us I wanted to do something. Some people send flowers or goodies for the nurses station but we loved being able to hand them personally a small bag as a thank you.
@belmont1785 what all did you put in the bags? I was thinking about bringing sugar cookies similar to this:
The rx bottle says "take one cookie by mouth as needed. No refills". But I think it would be cute to write something snarky (like "take one cookie by mouth for every unrealistic birth plan you receive"). Suggestions would be appreciated!
The first day May 2007 The yes day April 2012 The best day Nov 2013
The bags we brought had chocolate covered blueberries, chapstick, hand sanitizer, a crystal light pouch (to mix in bottled water), k cup of some fancy coffee, and a pack of gum, and a granola bar...I think that's it...I had fun putting them together and loved seeing their reactions.
I stayed away from anything with nuts because of allergies etc.

Those are cute! They may not be able to accept homemade treats though, at least that's the policy at my hospital.
I made 15...it was about perfect. This time I might do 20 to include more nursing assistants. In my hospital there is one nurse assigned per patient per shift, and 3 shifts (morning, afternoon and night) so depending how many days and a few extra for others (my hospital is also a teaching hospital so lots of people shadowing such as new nurses and PA'S)

@belmont1785 good suggestions! How many bags did you end up giving out?
