AFM, I am officially PUPO, although the day did not go particularly smoothly. I was on the train on the way in when my doc texted me that he is very sick -- chills, vomitting, etc. -- and couldn't do the transfer. He was going home. I was disappointed, but no biggie -- it's not like this was the retrieval. And he said his colleagues are excellent.
Then the clinic called and said my procedure was being moved up to 1 from 1:15. I went to acupuncture and the acupuncturist said that was fine -- that we'd still have plenty of time. But then she forgot that the transfer had been moved up! So when I was supposed to be lying in the dark, deep-breathing and thinking about making my uterus receptive, I was actually looking at my watch, worrying, and wondering when I would have time to drink the rest of my water. Totally counterproductive. Finally at 12:53 I called out to her and she came in and said she forgot my appointment was at 1.
I made it in time. Transfer was ok, just felt a lot of pressure on my bladder and also (tmi alert) my rectum, because they were pushing down a lot. Oh, and at the beginning they had to flush out the Crinone, and I felt water gushing from my cooch, and I was like, "Is that hitting the floor?" and the nurse was like, "No, there's a basin below the table."
Anyway, I exited the doc's office to some kind of post-apocalyptic scene: a car had caught fire on Fifth Ave, so the sky was dark and the air filled with ash. People were covering their mouths and trying not to breathe it in, and sirens were howling... felt like a bad omen. But I went back to acupuncture, tried to "welcome" my little bean to my body, and now I'm on the way home. Beta is next Tuesday.
@brooklyngirl18 AMAZING beta Congrats! My beta is on the 21st @Stairbear love the city, but yes, you never know when something random will bring on that stress! After living in the EV for a decade, I def understand!
I feel good today, but this morning was crampy and had a little bit of an uneasy stomach. been napping in this 98 degree weather in New England and hubby is on his way to the store to pick up the two AC units we just bought. This year has been filled with such strange weather.... I just want a comfortable 70 degrees please!
Thanks all, my beta is the 20th. I was also surprised they didn't make me drink more water, I think she had a better view after moving the prob around. I just don't really know what I'm looking for on the abdominal ultrasound, so maybe it wasn't as hard for her to see as I imagined it was. Now the dreaded TWW begins! @brooklyngirl18 congrats! That's a fantastic first beta. @Stairbear that sounds stressful! Don't take it for a bad omen though, those things happen unfortunately. It's nice you had acupuncture after to help decompress and relax again.

@cmiller73@kaseycoco@stairbear Congratulations on your ET!! @brooklyngirl18 Congratulations on you BFP and great beta!! @momma6angels11 Not yet, I'm actually nervous to test lol. Last time I tested back in April, I didn't get a faint positive until 8dp5dt/9dp5dt. So I may test around that time frame.
Hi ladies! I'm so excited to hear about the BFPs! Especially you, @brooklyngirl18 with no major symptoms prior to beta. That gives so much hope, especially since I'm always symptom-spotting no matter how hard I try not to.
So, this last week was a whirlwind of stress, which is why I again feel so behind on everyone's posts. I went last Monday for my annual gyno appointment. So she finds a lump in my right breast and says I need to go for a diagnostic mammogram and US. WTF?! For someone who has never had a mammogram before and whose mother had breast cancer (that was about 16 years ago and luckily, knock on wood, she is alright now), I was a freaking wreck! So I go the next day for the tests and it was the longest fracking (I should just swear already... these f bomb substitutes aren't doing my insanity justice lol) afternoon of my life! DH took the afternoon off to go with me. Long story short, I have complex cysts. The one the gyno found in my right and then several smaller ones were found in my left that weren't visible in an exam. The doctor of radiology (who knows nothing about me or how fertility treatments work) was freaking me out. She said I needed to see what my doctor said... She could recommend to have them aspirated or not... Or I could choose to. Of course she tells me that the cysts are most likely from the hormones I've taken for fertility treatments over the last year... So that had me worrying if I should even be doing any more treatments if this is what it's going to do to my health.
The next day (Wednesday) I go to my clinic because I was due for baseline blood work, US, and my endometrial scratch. Well they do the monitoring stuff, but wouldn't do the scratch. They said my gyno had to clear me to continue treatment and if she said I needed to have the cysts aspirated, then that would delay treatment and the scratch would be for nothing. Well do you think I could get any answers from the gyno office that day? Nope! My doctor was at the hospital all day delivering babies (lucky bitches!) and doing surgeries, so she hadn't been in the office all day, nor had she looked at my scans. The nurse said she'd have her call me the next day (Thursday) first thing in the morn.
So Thursday... I had to go to a training all day for work out of town. Naturally, no word from the gyno office. Finally mid-morning I call and the nurse tries to track down my gyno. After some phone tag, she gets back to me and says the doctor doesn't see any reason to delay my treatment. She doesn't think the cysts need to be aspirated. She will order me a 6 month follow up mammogram and US. If I happen to be PG then I will just have the US. I was still a little freaked out, but I told myself I need to trust my gyno. She sees this stuff all the time and knows what she's talking about. Then I had to let my clinic know and get a new timeline for my FET.
Now I am scheduled for baseline blood work and US THIS Wednesday, along with the endometrial scratch. However, now my FET has been pushed back to July 3rd... Which would mean my beta would be July 12th... Great, except we had planned to leave for our vacation July 8th! #$@%! So they gave me two options... Either I can try to have the beta somewhere on vacation (because that's not stressful during a relaxing vaca, trying to scout out a Quest Diagnostics) or I can wait until I come back and have it on the 16th (because waiting my whole entire vacation to know if it worked or not is not stressful either).
So I didn't like either option and took matters into my own hands. I was able to reschedule our vaca for a week later... Luckily the place we are renting was free the following week and it's the exact same price, so it wasn't too difficult to change. So now (as long as everything stays on schedule, so help me Jesus!) FET should be July 3... Beta should be July 12... Possibly a second beta July 14... and we leave for vaca July 15. I figure this way I will know either way before we leave. If it fails, I know I can drink my face off on vacation haha. If it works, then I can (try to) relax all week and I figure it's better than being at home, where time stands still during the waiting periods between monitoring appointments... Hopefully being at the beach will help the time to go by quicker.
I apologize for that novel, but I just wanted to let you gals know I guess I shall be moving to check out the July FET board. But I will certainly be lurking and checking in on you guys! I am thinking good thoughts for all of you, no matter where you are in your cycles! Thank you for your support, even if all you did was read my posts and send me a happy thought!

@Brooklyngirl18 yay brooklyn!!! great first beta for sure!!! looking forward to the next one, hope ur breathing a lil easier now!
Stairbear congrats on being PUPO! You certainly had some day glad you had acupuncture after too! At least it'll be a great story to tell I had such a full bladder I thought for sure I was going to pee on the RE!
kaseycoco I was laughing at your post as I felt the same way, the tech that was with me during my transfer was like do you see it, right here its over here. And I had to pee so badly i just couldn't concentrate on a damn thing!
@joneser1281 scary roller coaster so sorry you had to go through that but thrilled you got the go ahead! Thats my moms concern with all of this, being on these drugs for over a year now and what they might be doing to me. It worries me at times too but try not to think about it. We will cheer each other on in july

@brooklyngirl18 many congrats! It's nice to see all the BFPs, June seems to be a fruitful month! fingers crossed til the end of the month for everyone's successful ETs!!!
So sorry for your crazy week @joneser1281 and that you will have to wait a bit longer for your fet..i will be lurking on the july board to see how everything turns out..
AFM just counting and counting again and again til the day is here!! Lol 8 more days
@colette18 - I'm transferring at the end of June! Monday the 26th I'll be transferring 2 six day old embryos
@Hopeful_mom - I began bcp 5 days after AF started and remained on them for a month (this was after failed transfer). Stopped bcp, got AF again, then 24 days after that will be my transfer date (I'm doing a 6 day transfer)
@joneser1281 - what is the deal with ovarian cysts? I had one last week and RE seemed unconcerned but the word 'cyst' freaks me out. Yesterday RE (after SO asked about it specifically - I don't think she was planning on mentioning it) said it was still there, same size, and that's it! I don't know what to think about cysts so trying not to worry!
@Stairbear - I am also doing acupuncture before & after ET (SO is an acupuncturist so I don't really have a choice! lol). We did it last night and needles were pricking extra hard going in, usually I don't find it uncomfortable at all. SO said that as estrogen rises, pain tolerance falls. Hmm...Interesting.
@brooklyngirl18 - Awesome beta #! How many days past transfer was first beta?
AFM, had my 2nd monitoring appt yesterday. Lining is at 9 mm with 3 stripes (not sure what that means exactly but RE was pleased). Blood work also good so no change in meds. I wish we could hurry this along but she said the long estrogen priming has best results. Slow and steady wins the race, I hope!
@Hopeful_mom Thank you too for your kind words and encouragement. My mom is the same way! Since she had breast cancer, she has always been worried about me taking any types of fertility meds. That's one of the reasons I put it off for a while. I'd never even taken BCPs before my first IVF cycle because her doctors at the time (16 years ago) said I shouldn't. However, research changes so much over the years. Now doctors say that fertility meds don't have bearings on breast cancer, it's more ovarian because we are overstimulating our ovaries. Still, I guess it's possible cysts can arise because of the meds. I know I didn't have that one in the right at my last annual appt (which was in June, before I started stimming for my first IVF last summer). We can most definitely cheer each other on!
@i-wanna-b-the-girl-w-most-cake I am not sure about ovarian cysts... The ones they found at my annual gyno appt were in my breasts. I feel like I have heard an ovarian cyst or two mentioned over my treatments in the last year, but I'm assuming they've gone away on their own... Or like you mentioned, they're no big deal because none of my doctors have said much about them. No news is good news, right? Haha.

@amanning2011 did you have your recheck today to see if the bcps helped your cyst? Before i forget ..@cowboycorgi prayers for your transfer tomorrow and that the embies are sticky and healthy and STRONG!! Looking forward to seeing many more BFP on our spreadsheet!! @thucks thinking of you as your beta is getting closer!! Praying this is the cycle for your complete family!! AFM ive been have that nauseas feeling the last few days from the estradiol..
colette18 I've actually been through 7 IVF cycles and now after today 5 ER. I have 4 normies on ice and praying I can add to it in a few more days.
@joneser1281 - medicine has come a long way but we still dont know what it does in the end. This cycle has been hard on my body...it could be as its the 4th in a row too BUT you mentioned breasts and I had such a pain in my right one and couldn't decide if I felt anything as it was by the bottom part where the wire lays. it subsided so I'm not thinking of it BUT i know my mom wants me to get it checked out.
momma6angels11 big kudo to you for keeping up on everyones beta, transfer you name it! You're a rock star!
AFM: Its been a day I swear!.... ER days should just be easy and relaxing and this was anything but!! (OH had a family emergency which took him away and made me late for ER where I was back to possibly using a frozen sample instead of fresh (thank goodness I even have one)...so you can imagine all the extra stress that went along with already being anxious for today)
Took them a while to find my vein as usual. My RE was being understandable on my tardiness but also mentioned she doesn't want me to ovulate so you should've seen how fast I got changed and ready to go!! After all was said at done I did walk away with 4 eggs, I didn't cry this time so thats already better then last ER However it was 1 from the left and 3 from the right. Meaning the big left one was empty again and then the 2 smaller ones on the right made it...just praying they are mature enough and fertilize. I feel like if they dont fertilize thats when they determine they're not mature. I hear others after ER know right away how many eggs and then how many are mature and so on. Maybe cause I get so few they can tell right away? Who knows. Glad its done! Just praying they all fertilize and make it through!!
Side note I asked my RE about FET. And I know I was in a fog but she doesn't to BCP I believe, so since my AF will be hear soon I will go meet with her early next week to get things moving, yay!!!

@Hopeful_mom thanks im just trying to pass time and i have never been able to update info on spreadsheets on this app..but i made my own chart on paper to try and keep track our current chart is not up to date and there is one person that has a transfer coming up tomorrow, but she hasnt posted since the one post.. Im sorry you had a crazy day with er and everything.. im praying for your eggs to all fertilize and a smooth fet cycle with amazing results!!
@momma6angels11 Thanks. I'm an emotional mess today. I just want to sit at my desk and cry. I'm so tired but I feel like I can't sleep at night. I even got into an argument with the MIL about fidget spinners last night. Usually I can keep my shit together but I guess not right now and I'm only 6dp6dt. I can update to chart if you give me the info.
@Hopeful_mom I'm a blubbering mess after ER too. Every time I come out of anesthesia I just cry. I hope those 4 eggs turn out well for you. FX!
AFM besides being an emotional mess I bought died last night. My skin on the stomach is so sensitive right now. I currently have Estrace patches and the Lovenox shots in the tummy. I laid in be last night with my shirt pulled up and no sheets on my stomach the feel of fabric just hurt so bad it's still sensitive. So weird never had this before.

@thucks UGH only 6dp and you're so uncomfortable already thats a lil scary!! I have very sensitive skin at times, felt like I had a broken ankle the other night I couldn't touch it and it was just from the skin...I get it!! Its awful hoping it will pass. have you experienced this before, are you taking a new drug? hoping this is a good sign of something else going on if you get my drift
Cowboycorgi woo hoo! Congrats on being pupo!! Sending you super sticky vibes and hoping your lil bean is getting all cozy! Did you transfer one or 2?
AFM: I did get the call and 3 of the 4 fertilized, one per icisi and the other 2 regular insemination. Am I happy sure, bummed about the 4th hell yes!! You want them all to make it as when you do testing it cuts the odds down tremendously at my age I feel more frazzled maybe as my RE said they were doing icsi on the "good looking mature ones" so I feel like that means one egg was bad?? I know i have to take the 3 and PRAY they will all make it through!! My clinic will have a report for me day 2,3 and then 5...so I shall be a basket case everyday! – too bad about the stress today, I hope you are able to sit back and relax for
the remainder of the day! And awesome news about the FET! When I had my ER and
the whole sperm debacle, I was told that the eggs don’t get fertilized right
away which is why (after SO’s first deposit didn’t work) they let him go home,
do his thing, then bring it back up to the office and it still be fine. The
eggs have to sit for a few hours I think is what they said… I didn’t find out
until later in the evening how many were mature and fertilized.
thucks
– Hang in there. I have had many meltdowns since this whole IVF business has
started myself. At the RE’s office, at work, in my car, at the pharmacy,
everywhere pretty much. I hope you feel better soon!
brooklyngirl18 - great news! have you moved over to the pregnancy boards yet??? If so, don't leave us! haha. It's all so exciting!
Hey @brooklyngirl18 Those are some great numbers for only transferring 1. I updated the chart for you. @hopeful_mom Yay 3 out of the 4 in my eyes that a big win. No new meds this round. Idk what it is. My skin has a slight red shad to it so maybe something has irritated it. Does anyone know if Tea Tree oil diluted in coconut oil is safe to use at this point. Ive used it on rashes before and seems to help. I'm just hesitant to use it now. @i-wanna-b-the-girl-w-most-cake I'm feeling better emotionally now that I am more awake I guess. But I'm probably going to go home after work and try my hardest to put myself to sleep. @cowboycorgi yay for being pupo

@brooklyngirl18 Congratulations on you BFP and great beta!!
@momma6angels11 Not yet, I'm actually nervous to test lol. Last time I tested back in April, I didn't get a faint positive until 8dp5dt/9dp5dt. So I may test around that time frame.

Stairbear congrats on being PUPO! You certainly had some day glad you had acupuncture after too! At least it'll be a great story to tell
kaseycoco I was laughing at your post as I felt the same way, the tech that was with me during my transfer was like do you see it, right here its over here.

@momma6angels11 Thank you! Hang in there!
Haha.

Looking forward to seeing many more BFP on our spreadsheet!!
@thucks thinking of you as your beta is getting closer!! Praying this is the cycle for your complete family!!
AFM ive been have that nauseas feeling the last few days from the estradiol..
After all was said at done I did walk away with 4 eggs, I didn't cry this time so thats already better then last ER
Side note I asked my RE about FET. And I know I was in a fog but she doesn't to BCP I believe, so since my AF will be hear soon I will go meet with her early next week to get things moving, yay!!!

You want them all to make it as when you do testing it cuts the odds down tremendously at my age

Hopeful_mom – too bad about the stress today, I hope you are able to sit back and relax for the remainder of the day! And awesome news about the FET! When I had my ER and the whole sperm debacle, I was told that the eggs don’t get fertilized right away which is why (after SO’s first deposit didn’t work) they let him go home, do his thing, then bring it back up to the office and it still be fine. The eggs have to sit for a few hours I think is what they said… I didn’t find out until later in the evening how many were mature and fertilized.
thucks – Hang in there. I have had many meltdowns since this whole IVF business has started myself. At the RE’s office, at work, in my car, at the pharmacy, everywhere pretty much. I hope you feel better soon!
brooklyngirl18 - great news! have you moved over to the pregnancy boards yet??? If so, don't leave us! haha. It's all so exciting!
@cowboycorgi yay for being pupo
