Is it too early for this? Nahhhh. Sorry, I hate the term "babymoon" so I'm going with pre-baby vacation

Are you planning one? Where to? If you're going international I might have some recommendations - I've been all over the place.
We're planning one, but we have't decided where. We're big on traveling and budget carefully for it - usually go on 1-2 international trips a year. Most of our trips have been to more...developing places, but I think for this purpose we'll want to go somewhere we know we'll have good health care. Plus I don't want to be on a plane for 14 hours (sorry, Japan, not this time.) Then there's also Zika to consider.
So we're thinking probably Scotland, Ireland, or Scandinavia. Maybe Canada - we love Quebec and Montreal.
Re: Pre-Baby Vacations?
We might also try to do a weekend in Nashville at some point but we're not sure.
I told DH that I really want to go to the coast for a long weekend sometime in late September or early October. Maybe Charleston. We'll see.

I told him I'd be fine with him going in early December (I'll be about 35 weeks). He wants me to go too- but I don't think I would be comfortable traveling to Mexico. Nope.... no way!! I honestly don't mind him going without me- especially since he's already mentioned the plans to his guys and his parents. I figure I'll be busy nesting and getting ready for baby. Maybe I won't even notice he's gone having fun in Mexico on a beach without me
I'll be 36/37 weeks pregnant. With DS I went a week late and had no complications before hand or anything. I'm just not sure an 18hr drive, or a flight is going to sound very fun. Plus that's a looong way to be from home if anything happened. DH is sure we'll be fine. I guess I'll wait and see what my OB says at the time.

We're not traveling specifically because of the pregnancy. I prefer to travel when I'm not under any restrictions.
We're camping at the end of the summer on the St Laurence, like we do every summer. We usually go to FL February/March-ish to visit the grandparents. That's now up in the air.
DH had wanted to do travel, just us, for our 10th next May. As a BFer I'm not leaving behind such a young baby, and DH doesn't feel it's fair to bring baby and not DD1 and 2. So even that's up in the air.

At the end of August we will be going on an Alaskan cruise. It has been planned for a year now. I'm excited because it will be beautiful but I'm also bummed because a lot of the excursions are out for me now. No Zip lining, deep sea fishing or the Bike and Brew
So I'll be eating a lot and watching whales I think!
Edited:spelling
We did a big cruise this Jan so we're only doing beach trips to AL and FL beaches for the rest of the year.

Because we took our "big trip" back in February I'm not sure how much more traveling we'll do. I am going up to New England to visit family next week for my sister's baby shower. We were planning to go up there again after her baby is born but we'll have to figure out the TDAP thing for me.
@LHC2011 I was in both Ft. Lauderdale and Naples within the past few weeks. I didn't even consider Zika until I was on the plane - so I did some frantic searching and found that only a small section of Miami was impacted by Zika (that is, they had the mosquitos that carry it), and that was last summer. All other cases were travel related. There's a thread on this board from a couple weeks back about Zika. I am not suggesting pregnant ladies go out of their way to visit Florida, and I personally would avoid Miami just in case they have another outbreak, but to my mind most of Florida is not any more dangerous than any other coastal or port areas. Plus, the Florida counties have been very diligent about spraying to keep down the mosquito population.
MH and I had already planned a trip to Iceland in early October before I found out I was pregnant, but thinning that will be a perfect trip a couple months before baby. Will probably have to avoid the hot springs though
We are doing a week in Canada inthe national parks (banff and jasper) in early July. Backpacking, hiking, camping. I'll be a week into my 2nd tri so barely showing and still able to be really active.
For our real babymoon we will lilely do hawaii on miles. My husband is a huge surfer and lived there for four years. We try to do a big international trip and then a surf/scuba trip and a rock climbing trip each year, but most surf/scuba destinations are out due to Zika.
Most St of our travel has also been to emerging markets: kenya, Uganda, Namibia, Asia etc...most are out due to Zika or malaria or lengthy flights.

This summer we're going to Yosemite (we go every year) and camping for a week at the beach. Then, in October, we're going to Kauai...I can't wait!
This trip will be with the in-laws, but we'll go back just our family again. We've been to the safari and Seaworld.
Also, my Brother and SIL just got back from Kauai and had the best time! Sounds amazing!
@Knottie1451712429 - cool that you climb! We used to, before ds. We did a Canada climbing trip a few years ago, between Banff and Squamish it was so amazing.
With my first pregnancy, I did 6 nights backpacking as part of a Patagonia trip. Right about 18-19 weeks.I was much slower than normal even with dh carrying much of the weight. But I was able to go everywhere we wanted to go.
@mcrosie we loved Edinburgh when we visited a few years ago, out of all our European travels it's one of my favorite cities, (London wins for my all time favorite)

I recommend you install an app on your phone to track your steps, to help keep perspective on how much walking you do.
Oh, and take the Staton Island Ferry! It's free, and gives you a chance to see the city from the water, and the Statue of Liberty! Better yet, you get to sit down!
I'm not planning any travel. I'm a little too nervous about the high risk elements of the pregnancy, and I'm certainly not in the mood now to go anywhere, with the nausea and fatigue.
We have paid for DragonCon though, on Labor Day weekend. It's physically intense, so I'm not sure I'll be up for too much crowd stuff, but we have a hotel room, and so we can take a lot of breaks.
