  • @aprilsarahjune I can relate with a close friend of ours.  He has some health issues (nothing super serious, but aches and pains, bad knees, general blah-ness that he'll complain about) and I believe part of it is directly tied to his diet.  If he cut back on the soda, chips, and snacks I believe that he'd feel better overall.  Part of the issue is that he wants to exercise, and he'll start, but then he'll stop because it hurts too much.  If you eat like crap, you'll feel like crap.  Simple as that.

@migdala I do that for everything! If I know I have to leave the house, I will figure out how to plan washing my hair around it lol. I have a Dr appointment on Tuesday, I will wash my hair today, Sunday and Tuesday  :D

Eta: actually, appointment isn't until following Tuesday, but you get my point lol
  • ill join you in that goal @riverrainez i have the same hair type and it just gets gross. also i cannot make it through the day without putting it up at some point. so it gets all crinkly and messy when i take it down. i ain't trying to straighten it every morning to fix it, id rather just wet it and start fresh. (i dont blow dry my hair every morning only when i am going out bc it looks fine enough to last me until noon when i decide i am sick of it and i put it up).

  • I also have short hair now (just chopped!) and it's naturally curlyish so it takes like two seconds to wash and I can let it air dry and do its thing. If I had to blow dry and style I would probably let it go longer!

@carries2018 I wash my hair and shower every day too. I know its bad for your hair/skin but if I don't i end up looking like a grease ball... and dry shampoo just doesn't do it for me. I don't get people that don't either.. and I am certainly NOT one of those girls who looks cute when they wake up lol

Haha @migdala I've done that with a stool too.

I've actually done that both days in the hospital after my last two kids were born. I got up, showered and forced myself to blow dry and straighten my hair and put on makeup both mornings. I had to use a stool because standing was too much, but I felt SO much better being clean and feeling put together

@bluejeanbabi05   What type do you use?  I was considering trying it out, but am not sure what's good.

I hate washing my hair.  It's incredibly thick and takes FOREVER to dry.  This would be nice.

  • @jessdg I use Dove volume. I will say, I have blonde hair, which makes dry shampoo easier. Sometimes it can leave a white color on darker hair.

@bluejeanbabi05   That's what I was worried about.  My hair is reeeeeeally dark brown/black.  Maybe I'll find a small bottle to give it a try and see what happens.

  • I hate showers and washing my hair. Pretty much all my life. I only gave in during my sports years in childhood because I sweat so much every day. But I started skipping days in college and now I don't wash my hair but like twice a week. I'll hide it in a bun when I shower my body.

I get greasy/oily if I shampoo and condition my fine straight hair. I switched to dove 2-1 shampoo and conditioner and now it's awesomeeeeee. I struggle a little more to brush my hair out of the shower because it's not as silky, but when it dries it's much more manageable and stays clean looking all week. Life changing.

  • +1 to needing to shower everyday. I have really curly hair, and after sleeping on it I have a lovely combination of smushed curls and frizz. I'll wear my hair up in a ponytail if I don't shower, but otherwise it gets washed every day.
  • ok but what do you dry shampooers do about crinkly hair? leave it down all the time. I CANT LIVE LIKE THAT!

  • See @carries2018 I can't stand having my hair up because it gives me a headache! BUT when I do to workout or whatever, a quick wave of the blow dryer or a couple strategic curls that I then brush out do the trick.

@pizzamonster3 I'll have to try that shampoo! I change my shampoo every six months or so because my hair gets used to it and starts looking oily even right after I wash it.

Seriously if I wash my hair at night, when I wake up in the morning it's already oily. Maybe that's why I had to discover dry shampoo, it was just unmanageable before lol.

  • @bluejeanbabi05 exactly that - my hair is oily and limp one hour after washing if I do shampoo and conditioner or wash it every day.

Ive used it for about three months now. After a few weeks I was getting a chunky feeling, not really oily but like I had product residue in it. It actually helped me style because it gave me volume without looking nasty, but since it felt weird to me I started adding an extra scalp-only mini shampoo before I'd do the 2-1 every other week. It helps manage that product feeling without reverting to full oily and still gives me long lasting volume. It's magic.

  • ZOMG HOW DO YOU LIVE LIKE THAT?! I NEED TO PUT MY HAIR UP EVERY NIGHT OR ELSE IT WILL ATTACK ME IN MY SLEEP!
What??? How do you sleep with your hair up?? It must be right on top of your head right or there'd be a hard lump when you lie down. I would have such a horrible headache in the morning if I tried that ish, I think my scalp is just way too sensitive and it hates hairties.

Plus having my hair up breaks my hair, and I end up with super attractive little frizzies around my face. Not cute.

  • I can't wash my hair at night either. Laying on it all night brings out the grease big time. Giant waste of energy. I wash only in the mornings. Or afternoons, like today
  • FFFC:  One of the reasons I pushed so hard to move back to Colorado was because my hair doesn't get greasy here.  It was a constant battle in NYC.  I need this arid climate or else I have to wash every other day and I don't have the energy for that.  Reason #43247892374923 Colorado is the best state
