Re: WTF Wednesday 6/7

  • The German delivery people are completely blocking our driveway while delivering the cabinets for our store downstairs. Also Honeybee is sitting on my bladder and kicking my belly. WTF why.

Maybe this should go under a bitchfest...good friend who has no mouth filter and innocently says inconsiderate things regularly and I are talking about child birth. Maybe I'm crazy, but I am getting excited about it. She is the only person I know who had an elective C-section. I jokingly said, "yeah, you really missed out on the whole vaginal birth thing." (Nobody gets out of birth easily no matter what route you take). And she responds, "yeah, that's ok. I like my tight vagina."

*shakes head* (rankles in my brain). Side note: I've had a lot of pelvic dysfunction and she knows that! WTF? Hello no mouth filter (for the 100th time!)

  • My WTF is to the rain. We went from crazy extreme drought to a 2 weeks of downpours and now my backyard is nothing but standing water. Can't we have something in the middle? I know, I know, the aquifers need this rain, but my poor garden is drowning and my dogs have been having accidents on the floor because they don't want to go out. I just want a day to dry out!
  • I read that whole story like @ElizabethSchuyler did. I would have been pissed with what either of you said.

  • @mrsrundmc Not at all flameful and I totally agree with @DuchessOfCambridge. You did the research, you know what you want, and you're the one buying it. Get the one that you choose!

  • @DuchessOfCambridge @kissthesky32 Thanks!  I felt like I was being crazy.  She did respond back that she could get the other one still after I said thanks but no thanks.  So I guess pushing back worked!

  • Getting ready to have a 4-way meeting with my lawyer, my ex, and his lawyer. My ex wants to add more parenting time to his schedule in an effort to reduce his child support...that's the only reason. Side note: I hate him.
  • Someone just touched my belly who is NOT my bff, DH or Mom. What the actual F?!

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @mrsrundmc not at all flameful. I've had people suggest I might want something else other than what I carefully researched and picked (ie also my stroller) and I just told them they are under no obligation to purchase said item for us and I appreciate there thoughts but I very carefully reviewed each product and made a decision based off my research and what would work best for us.

  • @cmessamore ugh so sorry you're dealing with that crap!

  • @riversong15 my mom was like that with my first.  It drove me crazy!  It took me a while to get pregnant with him and took an emotional toll on me.  I felt it was really rude and insensitive. She finally gave up asking after DS turned 3.

@cmessamore ughhhhhh that really sucks.  I played things very politically safe with my ex.  I don't get child support, but I also hold all of the cards.  It sucks in some ways but my ex is very unstable, so it's better for DS this way.  Co-parenting with an ex blows.

DS1 is 7.  DD is 1.  DS2 is coming in late April.

This is what happened the other day when our waiter said he "couldn't help but notice [I'm] eating for two." I was so caught off guard I just mumbled something awkwardly. But man I should've sassed him to hell and back. What a rude, rude thing to say.

peregrinefalconx       Personally I think you deserve the comment you got back and if you are that sensitive maybe you shouldn't make insensitive comments to others.  People have all sorts of opinions on the fact I've had 2 C-sections - I don't care!  My Dr.'s and I know that was the best situation for me.  I would have given you worse if you said that to me.  And her comment back is true - she might have a scar but she doesn't have that issue.  I think you have a filter problem.

  • @BayCamp Yes to the rain. I am in FL too, DH thinks he is a cat and hates getting wet when he is not controlling it so he can't take the dog out in the rain, get the mail, or take out the trash. I need it to stop so he can start helping again without the whining. I feel guilty though because I know we need it.

  • @mrsrundmc totally not flamefull. Good job at asserting yourself and standing for what you want! (especially since you're paying for it!)
With DD my MIL asked me what travel system I wanted (even though it was on my registry). I sent her a link to the item and Somehow she ordered the wrong one (I even rechecked the link to make sure I sent her the right one!). So I made DH return it and get the correct one (the one I wanted was actually cheaper than the one she ordered).
But my MIL does spiteful stuff like that all the time just to jab at me. (Ex. When I told her I was pregnant she rolled her eyes, huffed then said well I wish you would've waited) I was *dead*  haha
  • @RiverSong15 I am sorry you are dealing with that.  My ILs said to me the day we told them we were having a baby.  "If this is a girl you know you need to keep trying until you have a boy in order to continue the family name."  WTF!  It took everything I had just to smile and walk away.  After 3 years we had all but given up and we going to look at adopting when we found out we were expecting.

  • @mrsrundmc I'm sorry your IL said that to you! I hate when people say things like that... with 2 losses and having a hard time with this pregnancy, I have to do everything I can to smile and nod.  Yesterday someone asked if we we're trying... why? Leave me alone.  I'm married, have a house and we both have steady jobs, even if we weren't "trying" just shut up and be happy for us.  That got into a rant sorry...

@jess0211 I'm not looking forward to someone random coming up to me and doing that... my step mom and sisters do... I'm not very comfortable when they do it, but I know it's how they connect with baby and because I'm close with them I'm okay with it.. Other people.. No go away  I like what @DuchessOfCambridge said about touching their belly but I would clam up and be awkward too haha
  • WTF to myself. I'm having the hardest time focusing at work but really need to because I have a deadline to meet!

Same to me. I have a project due by the end of the day and I just cannot buckle down and finish it up. I'll get like a page of writing done and then space out/bump/find something else to do for a while. I am the worst.

Rude, and rude. But I'm exactly the same way. :D I have fantastic retorts planned in my head and then when it happens I just nervous laugh and flee.

Sameeeeee. In my head I'm @ElizabethSchuyler but in reality I'm still me.

  • The waiter? It depends on where I am in the food process. Like, if they're still making my food you're getting an awkward smile. As I'm eating? You're getting a "And how many are you eating for jackass?"

  • WTF?  Someone I kind of work with just asked to touch my belly.  I appreciate that she asked instead of just doing it, but when I said no, she got all weird and judgy.  I was like, sorry, I like my personal space.  And she replied that she likes to feel babies kicking.  I replied that she wouldn't feel anything yet and she got even judgier, asking how far along I was and that it's weird that I haven't felt baby yet.  I said that I've felt her, just nothing you'd be able to feel from the outside, and she seemed like she doubted me or that it was wrong that you can't feel her from the outside yet.  EVEN IF you could feel her from the outside, I don't want my freaking belly touched, especially not by somebody I hardly know.

And now I'm all paranoid that I'm not feeling a ton of movement, but I've been really sick and my tummy just feeling crappy and big and tight and I think that feeling is prevailing over everything else.  And everyone feels things at different times.  It's not like I'm 30 weeks and haven't felt anything, I'm 18 and have felt only small inside movements.  That's okay, right?

  • @SweetMelissa4 Totally normal. Screw her.
  • @SweetMelissa4 my OB said 18-22 is normal timing for FTMs to feel baby and some even later than that. Amazing that she got so weirdly defensive when you politely declined her asking to touch you. Like, what?

  • I started feeling baby earlier than most FTMs but it's just little flutters and pokes for me too. It's okay, you're not totally alone @SweetMelissa4!

  • I've been trying to find a job, and I just got a call back for an interview for one of them. It was the one that was most flexible, and the one I wanted the most, so I got really excited. 1/2 an hour later I get an email from the same person telling me she didn't check my address and actually I am too far away so apparently I'm out now, they aren't even giving me an interview now. Guys, I only live HALF AN HOUR from said job location!!!! I've commuted further for work in the past! WTF?!?!?!

How does that work??? My mom and my aunt both work an hour away from home and it's never been a problem, and I've heard of far longer commutes than that. It sounds to me like it's an excuse!

  • @RiverSong15 that is so annoying of your ILs. I hope they don't bring it up again. Of course you should be able to savour every moment of this pregnancy and time with your baby without thinking about another while you're still pregnant!  I wasn't an only child but I've had plenty of friends who were only children and loved it! Plus that is not something you should have to give the slightest thought to while you are not quite halfway through this pregnancy.
  • @Perfectypo ...what? That cannot be a thing. people commute multiple hours to work. Can you call them back and say it's not a problem and you're really interested?

  • @DuchessOfCambridge and @hippiestinkmom I know!!! Where I live it is completely normal for people to commute an hour, or hour and a half to get to work in the city! They pay you per KM for your travel at this job so I think that had to do with it. I may call back and tell them I'm happy to take less than the full number of KM. I applied for the job not knowing they covered milage, so I don't mind missing out on some of it. She read my resume before calling me, and I sent her amazing refrences, so I'm pretty ticked off. Plus time is running out for me to find a job before I'm pregnant enough that no one will touch me.
