GTKY: Did you ever do summer camp as a kid? Tell me about it.

I did a day camp for a week once but we didn't really have the money for it growing up. I usually just went to my grandparents or my aunts.

  • @jessicarenee70 It is definitely helpful to use both since temping will only help to confirm that ovulation has occurred and when. By adding OPKs to the mix as well you are able to get a heads up as to when you may possibly ovulate. So basically the OPKs help you to predict, and temping helps to confirm.

@jessicarenee70 Welcome! I temp and use OPKs and I think that's pretty common here. Temping only confirms ovulation after the fact but OPKs help give you a "heads up" to get good timing. I have pretty reliable CM so I might not reorder OPKs but I think they've been helpful to learn my body :) hope that helps!

R/R: its gloomy today, that's my rant. I need more sunshine!

GTKY: Did you ever do summer camp as a kid? Tell me about it.
Not a regular 'summer camp'. But my mom, my sister and I lived at their summer camp on the lake pretty much the whole summer.. my dad came up on his off days. There was a lot of other kids up there with their families that I was with all day long so i pretended it was the same as 'summer camps' lol.

@pebbledam I'm sorry for the rough day :(

@hedgepig there's been so many mornings where I'm half asleep waiting for the beep... only to realize I never turned it on! it makes tired me so damn pissy at that time of the day lol.

@mrsmiller8588 ahhhh no no. there's a good chance I would have cried, puked and ran. maybe all 3.

@jessicarenee70 I'm a big supporter of temping AND opks! I'm not good at checking CM, so adding OPKs really helped me. and I also use the wondfo tests.

  • @jessicarenee70 I was going to ask literally that exact same thing! Thank you!

@pebbledam I'm sorry you're having to deal with a friend's baby on a rollover day. I am insanely jealous of your veterinary camp! I always wanted to be a vet and initially started college as a pre-vet student, but I couldn't handle the chemistry it required, so I wound up switching.

@justkeepswimming8 I wanted to do Girl Scout Camp soooooo baddddddd when I was younger but my mom told me I had to be a Girl Scout to do Girl Scout Camp and I had no desire to be a Girl Scout. Turns out I probably wouldn't have liked camp either...

    Month/Cycle: Null cycle.

    CD: 3

WAYDTGKU: Learning a lot. PNVs. Etc.

R/R: It's our weekly shared off day! Aaaaaand DH has been on the phone with his best friend since before I woke up (so... since at least 9... it's now 1:20...), and talked to him for an hour last night too. DH is usually good about keeping our shared off day for us, so I must imagine that J has some kind of thing going on, but I'm still irritated about it.

CS/Q: I know I said my other question was answered, but also: is there a "too low" temp wise on this side of O, or nah?

GTKY: Did you ever do summer camp as a kid? Tell me about it.
I did a "Girls in Action" church camp with one of my friends my 6th grade summer. It was a week long sleep away, and I hated it. I was really really really shy as a kid, and I was homeschooled so I couldn't relate to most of them even if I wasn't shy, and the friend I went with didn't want anything to do with me when she found out we were bunking with some of her friends. It was really not a good experience.

  • @poandhendrix i think anything above 96 pre-O is considered normal. Maybe even above 95?
  • @mispanda glad your appt went well!!
  • @LoveInDC I haven't had a period since Feb of 2015, but I know why *TW* Pregnant and then lactational amenorrhea *end-TW* I was using OPK and checking CM, both of which seemed to indicate that I ovulated, but I'm guessing they were off and indicated I had a surge but no ovulation. At this point, I'm just calling this CD1 to start a record, but I can switch it to ? since I don't really know when I should start from if that makes more sense. I just figured I didn't belong in TWW anymore since I doubt I've ovulated yet. Just on to the waiting game.

@fishsticks-n-custard Have you talked to your OBGYN yet? They can always give you Provera to start a definitive CD1 and you can go from there. Either way, I recommend reading TCOYF and charting your BBT so you can get a better idea of what's going on. The book has a number of sections on how to chart BBT while and post-BF. I had a number of long, anovulatory cycles, so I know how frustrating it is not knowing what's going on. Hopefully you have a fresh start and some answers soon!

  • @LoveInDC I've read TCOYF, very helpful info. I'm going to try starting BBT (thermometer came from Amazon yesterday!). My work/sleep schedule is very irregular, but *fingers crossed* I can get it to work. I'd rather just keep trying to wean her to see if I start to cycle before trying provera.

WAYDTGKU: PNVs, eating healthier, BBT, OPKs, CM, Preseed, green tea

R/R: We were late getting the new John Grisham out today because the library had a power outage last night...the patrons were, as usual, not very patient at all. But I did get to feel like a hero when I rushed the books through! Rant: Coworker made an obnoxious comment about how confident she is I'll be pregnant soon. Yesterday I had a male coworker ask me "what's up with your grey hair?", so my coworkers are really having a stellar week so far.

CS/Q: Nope, hoping I'll turn an OPK pretty soon but also feeling anxious because it appears DH's difficulties may continue this cycle. *sigh*

GTKY: I always hated being away from home, but one summer I got brave and insisted my mother sign me up for Girl Scout Camp despite her reservations. Sure enough, I spent the entire time homesick and got myself so stressed that I actually had asthma attacks that confined me to the infirmary for most of the week. On the bright side, I do still remember all the camp songs, and I had a really awesome counselor who sat with me in the infirmary and told me stories to distract me from how sad I was. This included the entire plot of The Last Unicorn over 3-4 sessions. It was pretty great.

@pebbledam, sorry about the rough day. I get really frustrated by the issues outside my control as well.

@babycakesday, space camp! That sounds so much fun! I always wanted to do a really neat science-y camp like that but our options were somewhat limited in Central Illinois. It's currently killing me that all three of my nieces live in big cities with zoos but their parents won't sign them up for Zoo Camp.

@MrsMiller8588, yuck! Sometimes I'm really happy to have an indoor pet who only brings me stuffed toys when he goes hunting.

@heatherdubrow, that was totally me on the camp front too, except for that one instance where I suddenly decided I wanted to try it. I usually didn't even make it through one night sleepovers without getting homesick.

@purplg8r, I was a bookworm who loved books about camp too. I used to read this series called "Camp Sunnyside" over and over again and play elaborate summer camp pretend games with my stuffed animals after reading them...Honestly I probably had more fun doing both of those things than going to actual camp!

CS/Q: Not much to look at right now.

GTKY: YES. I went to church camp every summer from like 6th grade until 12th. And it was wonderful and I miss it terribly sometimes.

Thanks ladies for all the clomid support, I am sort if excited to start it,  I finally feel like I have some control.
    @purplg8r, have fun at dinner!

@LoveInDC, what kind of yoga do you do?  Do you do a class or just at home?

@vflux33 , sorry about the long cycle but glad it is over!

@heatherdubrow , hope the class was fun, and the week goes quick for you!

  • @holly321 I do at home practice through the YouTuber Yoga with Adrienne. She has three 30-day challenges and I'm in the middle of the third right now. I highly recommend her if you're looking to try it out. I have a Groupon for a local studio, but I haven't found time to go yet.
