It's raining and kind of cold here all week, and then next week it's the heat of a thousand suns. Can't a girl just have 78 degree weather to wear dresses for a while?? Does the option have to be either deal with pants or melt?!
DH surprised me with a pack of sugar cookies, those ones from the grocery store bakery with pink frosting and don't really taste amazing but are somehow still awesome. Well I love them and went to take two after dinner and he says "Two?!? That's a lot of sugar". I'm mildly upset but mostly just petty and holding a grudge over it.
Not sure where to put this so here is the best place. My best friend since we were in 7th grade passed away this weekend. I'm in a daze most of the time since finding out. I have no idea how to handle this kind of saddness and grief. I have no idea how to deal with the regrets of time we should have spent together. Hold your friends and loved ones tight.
lancomechica2 - So sorry for your loss. I've had a couple losses that hit me really hard this year. The grief and sadness comes in waves - please take the time to grieve and treasure the time you had as friends.

I put all this work into a garage sale over the weekend and it was pretty anti-climatic. Seriously my marketing campaign was spot on. I had cools signs (Pic of Ryan Gosling saying "Hey girl, follow me to this yard sale") and other amazing ones. I thought I would get more traffic than we did. Today I am hauling 9 huge lawn and garden sized trash bags of cute stuff to various donation spots.
Mine is that DH "doesn't understand" why our garden isn't doing well this year. Well umm, record drought and heat maybe? I mean I water daily but when temps are consistently over 90 they won't blossom. His mom's solution? Buy a giant umbrella to crank open during the heat of the day, everyday. It's his birthday present and just came on the mail. Guess who gets to go out in the heat to crank it open daily? Thanks MIL, I really needed one more daily chore.
@lancomechica so sorry to hear about your loss. @av2323 that stinks! Our last yard sale ended up in a pickup full going to the mission.
my Monday Bfest is the fact that my employer can't seem to hire people.... and the people they do hire lately keep no call/no showing for work which makes things crazy considering we legally have to have so many employees per children. The person who was supposed to be my assistant today just didn't show.
Mine isn't so much an angry bitch fest as much as it is more of a sad/hurt bitch fest. My husband asked my mom if she was planning on doing a baby shower for me and her exact words were "no. People don't have showers for the second baby." I wasn't expecting an extravagant shower by any means and I don't like being the center of attention but I am kind of hurt there won't be any celebration for our rainbow baby.
@am+mommy thank you I wasn't sure if it would be appropriate or not.
This is #2 so we don't need much just a crib which we will get this week since it's on sale. But I wasn't sure if a "hey come celebrate our baby" sounded tacky or not.
@MKMandeville I don't think it's tacky. A lot of people have gender reveal parties, sprinkles and even push parties. I think it's perfectly acceptable to have something for another baby. Even just a little BBQ or something to celebrate life!

I set up my appointment for my AS at 19w3d this morning. The scheduler was like, "I spoke with your doctor on Friday and I'll schedule because of the circumstances, but if it gets closer and the tech isn't comfortable with it, they don't have to perform it and will cancel your appointment." WTF? I wish I could just turn down a doctors order because I didn't feel like it!! It's not like it's causing harm to the baby, so it seems like it should be to the doctors discretion at what time it's performed. It seems so strange. I would have 100% understood had she said, "our policy is not to schedule until 20 weeks, and we can't make an exception because your husband can't attend." I just am honestly confused that they are allowed to turn down an order.
In any event, I was super polite and appreciative on the phone because 1. She's just the messenger and 2. I firmly believe in a kill em with kindness approach after working in customer service for 7 years.
@MKMandeville +1 to not thinking it's tacky. I probably wouldn't ask for gifts for a second baby. However, I know people have had a second little thing and a small registry because their family/friends have asked. I asked a friend of ours because we wanted to get them a present for baby #2 and they made a registry of little things they needed like diapers and cream, etc. You should do it! And people will probably want to get you gifts anyway, I know I do for my friends
UGH when co-workers are over 30 minutes late to a meeting! It drives me nuts... don't tell me you can make it at 1 if you're not going to show up until 1:40. I have other meetings I have to get to and you're pushing them back farther now! Thanks a lot.

Even five minutes late. Things come up, sure, but most people in my office believe in being late for in office meetings. No. Be on time. Meetings constantly start 10-15 minutes late as we wait for people to gather.
Thank you @DuchessOfCambridge we did do a Babies R Us registry. Mainly a crib, dresser, diapers, etc because of the benefits. (10% credit back from registry purchases and a completion discount on top of their rewards when you spend so much). I thought to myself if we had to buy the big ticket items again it would be worth getting all the extra credit back to spend on diapers and stuff.
I guess I just wasn't sure how to go about doing the party. Most of my family is 2+ hours away and didn't feel right to have them drive that for a short picnic lunch.
@MKMandeville What type of crib are you getting? Where is it on sale? I am in the market in this month and cannot make up my mind what I want this time! I used the same crib with all three of the other babies

@av2323 that's exactly why I haven't had a yard sale even though I have soooo much stuff to get rid of!
@MKMandeville I think a party to celebrate is a great idea! Total, this will be our 6th child! And even we are considering doing something to celebrate a new life coming into this world! Every baby should be born knowing how loved he/she is!
@cottingham3 we are doing the Child Craft Camden 4-in-1 crib. We did one similar for DD but it was a Simmons something. We really like that it grows with the child. Hence we need a new one. The one we want this time around is sold at Walmart, Target, Buy Buy baby and Babies R Us. And this week Babies R Us just happens to have a lot of their nursery furniture 20% off.
Thank you @cmessamore. That is how I was feeling. I guess I was more hurt by how she said it and no what was said. I know my reaction is mostly hormones but it felt like she was saying the second baby isn't as important as the first. I'm already struggling with those feelings so my mom is the person I would least expect to make me feel even worse about it.

@av2323 I got a kick out of the signs
