@xath@PurplePoppy424 oh gosh so many l'll-nevers humbled - sleep was a big one. another I'll-never: I used to look at kids I thought were too old or too big for strollers and be like - my kid is not going to be one of those kids. Lo and behold my daughter was a baby who'd stay put when you put her down and a toddler who wasn't a runner (which is awesome because you can actually sit in the park and not have to chase after a kid the whole time) but also needed the stroller until about 4.5 years old. Are my words right there.
I'm about a million and five times less judgmental since having DS. I sometimes have ideals in the abstract (I hear what @BusyZee was saying in the original post - I read it more like it was about parents raising spoiled, entitled kids), but I always assume I am seeing kids or moms in a bad moment, when I see "bad behavior" out and about. Knowing how shy and different DS is around different people...and how bad I can be on a bad day, or good on a good day... yeah. I rarely judge any more.
i was "never" gonna have the kid at the park with the boogers dripping down its face. Hello allergies! Now I'm the mom who uses her hand to clean said snot trail and then wipe it on her kids sock.
Kids will humble you super quick (and make you do gross things you never imagined doing...)
@satsumasandlemons I really like how you talked about being the mom that is best for your child, rather than trying to form them to be the child for you. I think it applies in so many situations because every child has their own personality that we, as moms, need to nurture. Thank you for that!
Ah...I had so many "I will never.." before becoming a mom. I thought somehow that being a long term nanny correlated into successful parenting views and abilities. False. My parenting philosophy is fake it til you make it...and never say never.

Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.
Omg! My coworkers both use the nanny thing @dancegurl1118! It drives me nuts. The one isn't married and has zero prospects, but the other is and I find myself often thinking "just you wait" when she criticizes something I say or do.
