I am going to do some yard work (like always) and I'm organizing some stuff inside the house.
I have a graduation party to attend for my Big Brothers Big Sisters little sister. It's crazy to think she's graduating HS this weekend and going to boot camp next month. I need to pick a small graduation gift beforehand.

DH came home yesterday after being gone on a work trip for two weeks! So I'm excited to have him around the next few days before he leaves again. Got some HIO in yesterday before he crashed to sleep off his jet lag but looks like I got CH for CD12 so that means I'm out this month. Never had high hopes anyway but I wasn't expecting CD12! Anywho, we are going shopping for a new king sized mattress this weekend. I'll probably try to drag him around to some other furniture stores too.
Going swimming this evening. We had a great dinner yesterday . I also went to some garage sales and got quite a few books. Planning on breaking into one today.
We're heading over to a Soda Festival in a nearby town. The festival in 2014 was one of our first big dates, so it's especially fun to go back every year. They always have interesting varieties of specialty sodas to try as well as live music, barbecue, and lots of local vendors. Should be a fun time!
I'm now realizing nothing will get done today. DH is snuggling with the dog on the couch and we started watching The League for probably the 8th time...this show never gets old! Thank you Netflix.

AFM - adjusting to my new schedule working out of the house 20 hours this past week means I have a backlog of adulting on my plate... and a snoring puppy in my arms. What can you do???
I decided to sleep in today, and woke up to my cat staring me down with his face less than an inch from my face. I guess he thought I was trying to starve him to death, since I didn't feed him promptly at 7.
Me: 28 DH: 29 Married: 6/2016 TTC #1: 12/2016 Benched due to deployment- Off the bench 8/8/17!
@jsnakehole, I woke up the same way, but my cat was being even more ridiculous because my DH actually had already gotten up and fed him. Apparently the food just doesn't taste right until I've touched the bowl.
Dog decided she needed to wake me up at 5:30 this morning for her breakfast even though DH was already up and in the front room painting miniatures. She whined the only time I was temping. When I was done I told her to go get daddy. She ran to the front room and DH fed her just like he was about to do anyways. It's like really dog I didn't have to be involved in this.
Going to the pool this afternoon and a new antique shop is opening downtown so I'm going to try to stop by there as well.
It looks like it will be not uncomfortably hot this weekend so that means local hiking (as opposed to hiking an hour away), sushi, and greek salad. But for the moment I am just being jealous of all of you who have cats. (Mine lives with my mom on the other side of the country while MH completes his 4 YEARS of allergy shots, which we're now halfway through, but she's basically my mom's cat now )
@vflux33. Omg! Thanks for asking! So far so. Freaking. Good. I think anyway! The culture there is so great, I already feel like I fit right in and will enjoy working with all my co-workers. It's all us chicks except this one youngish dude who's a "specialist," still trying to figure out his whole vibe here but whatever. ;) training is a lot of those computer modules so 9 hours of that was a little brutal yesterday, but actually there are other activities to break it up too, walk-thrus, shadowing etc., and they just have me on four 5s next week, so that should be a breeze ;)
I was invited to a Bourbon Bash this evening. Basically all the food is cooked with bourbon and there are several mixed drinks to try. Last time I went I took Jack Daniels cupcakes, but this year I am taking Bourbon Corn Puddin'. It should be a good night. This is also the month where trying becomes OFFICIAL!
I saw this weird thing on the highway yesterday coming home from dinner. 3 cops with their sirens on and one of them was behind a car that wasn't going extremely fast but wasn't moving out of the way. I found out via the news that it was a car chase spanning 4 counties. Creepy.
@KSMcClary Bourbon Bash sounds fun. You'll have to report back and let us know what the best dish/cocktail was!
@vflux33 Hiking (and not having to go to the beach to do it) sounds fun, and Greek salad and sushi sounds even better. Holy moly, 4 YEARS of allergy shots? That's dedication. Just to make you more jealous, here's a picture of my cat trying to steal my toast this morning:

@hedgepig I love toast-eating cats! Yeah, it is dedication. He loves cats, but a big part of it is guilt because he knows sending my cat off to live with my mom was really tough, but his doctor told him she was lowering his lifespan because of developing asthma.
Here is an old pic of my cat, now my mom's cat, Miso, blending into the ugly carpet of my college apartment.
It is another dreary cold rainy weekend. UGH. We went to the shelter to look at the new dogs they got in and then went to lunch. We still haven't found the right pup to rescue (mostly because our kid is wild and scares them all, hubby doesn't want to hear it but I feel like he's at a terrible age to get a dog). I am hoping we find one soon though! Other than that we will be laying low inside all weekend. I am ready for some sunny weather so badly!

@grnmtnmama My hubbie was against cats too... until he got drunk one night and decided to try and catch some feral kittens in his old apartment complex. We now have two cats. He was a little better at the catching part than he expected.

DH and I are both very allergic to cats, and DH has asthma so it's even worse for him. Our dog loves cats though. LOVES them. Wishes she could be one. So DH has decided he wants to get a cat for the dog. I've said no about as strongly as anyone can say no to anything, but he pouts about it roughly once a week. We watched that movie Keanu last night about the kitten (anyone seen that?) well he wouldn't stop asking if we could get one. Sigh.
as for me, I reallllly should have washed all the windows. They're so gross. But instead, I went and did damage at Target. I've had this urge for past couple days to go! It's been awhile. I absolutely bought stuff that I'm now wondering if we really needed.

I hate to be a mood kill - but I need lots of positive vibes sent my way.
Some of you know I came home this week because my dad was having heart surgery... although his heart is doing well, he suffered a stroke and has completely lost use of his left side.
I'm going to mostly just be lurking from the hospital for the next while - I'm staying to help while he's here and then in rehab, since my parents aren't from the city.
@Sailing_Mama, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. Hoping he has a good recovery. My aunt suffered a stroke about 15 years ago, and I know it's really tough. Hugs to you and your family.
Me: 30 | DH: 31 Met: August 2006 Married: July 2012 TTC #1 since June 2016
I also spent some time at the hospital today. DH got stung by a scorpion. Other than a lot of pain and general numbness throughout his body, he's doing OK, but that was a new one for us.
Me: 30 | DH: 31 Met: August 2006 Married: July 2012 TTC #1 since June 2016
@Sailing_Mama Oh gosh, I'm so so sorry to hear about your Dad. I hope he is able to recover and regain functioning soon. Thinking of you and ypur family.
@icecubeinthedesert Oh helllll noo That's so scary!! Did it catch him off gaurd? Was it in your house? Ekk!!
DH and I have spent the entire day out and about looking for a new mattress and at cars. We finally decided on a tempurpedic cloud supreme breeze after laying on what felt like 100 mattresses but I'm soooo excited for it to arrive! Not sure about the car yet but I have a few weeks to decide. All I know is that I'm exhausted.
