Weekend Wambulance 6/2 - 6/4

Re: Weekend Wambulance 6/2 - 6/4

  • @cottingham3 could you get them now and just ask her not to cash the check for a bit? Sucks that you have to miss out on such a great deal because of timing!

  • Loading the player...
  • @jess0211 we had to do that as well except it was DH's truck that bit the dust and we had to go buy a truck that added another vehicle payment to our budget

my weekend wahmbulance is just DD's dance recital this weekend..we just finished up 2 long rehearsals the past 2 nights that got us in bed close to 11, then back up for work at 7:30 now two nights of recital, that and being pregnant is just too much. So exhausted.

And pregnancy brain for making me forget underwear in my change of clothes that I needed for after I did water day with my preschoolers, had to go to dollar general commando in my maternity jeans to buy undies.
  • Don't know why it erased my other stuff
@baycamp good for you standing your ground, poor little guy I hope his arm feels better, and I second @ElizabethSchuyler on. Asking for your money.

@DuchessOfCambridge I hope you get some relief soon I have had headaches for two weeks but thankfully no migraines
  • @ElizabethSchuyler if I haven't received any money by the end of the weekend I will. She usually pays me at the beginning of the week for the previous one so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt on time to get to the bank.
  • I threatened to cancel a play date for tonight if my son had a bad day at school. Which he did. So now I'm going without him (good friends with the mom, aside from the boys being friends). Still, I'm annoyed and the other kid is going to be really sad.

  • @pawcall good for you for sticking to your guns though!
  • I have bug bites all over! All over my legs and arms and they itch SO BAD! I can't stand it... I was outside playing with the dogs because it was so nice out and I didn't even see them! Damn No See Ums.... they suck and they hurt so bad :( I'm wearing long sleeves at work today so no one has to look at my nasty arms with red dots all over them... It's like 85 degrees here

@jess0211 Cars suck. We have to get a 2nd one when we move back to the States and I'm not looking forward to it, especially since I'll no longer be working.

@Baycamp I'm a FTM so take this with a grain of salt, but my friend put her son in jeans without underwear or diaper. Wet jeans feel horrible.

@cottingham3 We're moving soon and I'm in local groups for our soon to be new town and see all the baby deals I'm missing out on, including CDs.

  • @BayCamp That bite is horrible. He came close to breaking the skin! Your poor baby.

  • @BayCamp you made the right call you've tried to talk nicely about it and it clearly didn't work. No daycare would stand for that. Your poor boy :(
  • Fatigue was rough today. It was the biggest struggle to get thru work. Felt like a big bloated whale. Cannot believe how I will manage in 3rd trimester.
  • DH was in a bad car accident on Wednesday.  I spent the evening with him in the ER and we have spent the past two days sorting through all the paperwork stuff.

Quick story is that he is fine, but beat up and bruised.  Nothing broken.  He was stopped but a suburban two cars back didn't stop and caused a 4-car pileup.  Thankfully, our biggest issue right now is just that the policeman who was writing the report about the accident went ON VACATION WITHOUT FILING THE REPORT.  Which we need for all sorts of insurance.  There is no question about who was at fault, we just need the info.

Just want to say I'm totally not trying to bash police here or anything.  I'm very grateful my husband is okay, for all the work police do, and I'm sure the man deserves his vacation.  It's a total FWP at this point.  We have the hospital on our asses asking for insurance billing info regarding the case and we simply don't have that information to give to them as my husband was driven from the scene by ambulance before he got any information about anyone else involved.  We didn't even know where our car had been taken until the next day to go get all of his keys, etc. out of it.

Again, I am glad he's okay.  He's been home for 2 days recovering and should be 100% okay in a week or two.  I'm glad we have insurance.  I'm just feeling super whiny tonight about getting all this sorted and figuring out wth car we're going to buy him as our car was totaled.  Ever see that Subaru commercial where the car is all banged up and everybody keeps saying "They lived."?  That is basically my husband and our Subaru Forester - which I'm convinced saved his life.  We're renting some kind of car tomorrow for him and we most likely will have a check for our totaled car by Tuesday so things are moving forward relatively easily.  I've just been a stressed out mess, I guess.

  • @DuchessOfCambridge - Migraines suck.  Did you get them regularly before you were pregnant?  I apparently only get them when pregnant with girls - daily.  Normally only 1-2 per year.  If it's new in pregnancy, definitely talk to your OB as they were able to prescribe me meds that knock them right out.  My OB said migraines are the #1 symptom she hears after MS from women pregnant with girls.  ;)

@BayCamp - Solidarity fist bump for potty training.  We just finished our first week with DS.  Today we took him with us running errands and I swear he was trying so hard to hold it because he only wants to pee at home.  Ugh.  We stayed out long enough on purpose that he would have to go and he finally did in a Panera.  I was so afraid he was just going to lose it all over his carseat, I stretched out a diaper underneath him in the car seat as we drove around, lol.

  • @kschref so glad your husband is ok! Accidents are so stressful and dealing with insurance companies can be a hassle.  I have a Subaru Forrester as well.  Great car. Sending positive thoughts your way that everything gets resolved without too much more stress.
  • @kschref that has to be incredibly frustrating! But I'm glad he's ok. That had to be so scary for you. Hope things get sorted out quickly.
  • @BayCamp I want to hug you and your DS right now.....that is severe! I know you need the $ and this decision has been a long time coming. But seriously! That is just beyond belief. Your son needs to know that you will protect him from this and as his mum you have made that point. Well done you!
  • @kschref  Glad your husband will be ok! Accidents are stressful and scary.

Potty training mamas, I put a doggy pee pad under my son in his carseat because we have over an hour commute and refused to let me put a pull up on him for the car ride while he was still learning.
  • @kschref glad to hear he is okay, that whole situation is so stressful... any idea how long his vacation is? Seems a bit odd to not tie up your loose Strongs before going on vacation?

  • I had to leave my son with my dad because me and my fiance both had to work and our normal go to weekend sitters were unavailable. Not only does it add an extra hour to my commute, my dad hates being stuck with a kid all day. Last time he agreed to watch DS I told him it was going to be at least til 7 pm and he said that was fine. By 3 pm he started texting my fiance asking him when he would be done. My fiance ended up just leaving work to go get my son.
  • @bcashaw - I did think it was strange to just leave that sort of thing while going on vacay because it's not like he can really hand it all off to somebody else since he was the officer at the scene.  The lady we talked to at the station was really apologetic because she said they were getting multiple calls about that case per day, but that he would be back sometime at the end of this next week and they would ask him to file it ASAP.

  • @kschref I'm SO glad your husband is ok! Police officer or not, every job has responsibilities that need to be taken care of before you take a vacation and this definitely seems like one of those. I'm sorry it's so frustrating!

I used to get migraines about once a week prior to pregnancy. Then got maybe 3 total my first trimester. Now they are happening pretty frequently :( my OB said if I got desperate we could do fioricet but she'd prefer not to since it's addictive and I agree with her. So I may just give up and start drinking caffeine again on migraine days to help.

  • Let me just leave this here....
    Dead.

  • @am+mommy woah ... hope you have some powerful AC and/or a pool!

@am+mommy That is too damn hot. Oof.

AFM: Pregnancy brain came back this morning. I made pancake mix with olive oil instead of canola oil. My pancakes tasted funny.  :'(

@BayCamp your poor baby ! Is it terrible that I'm totally judging the parents? What the hell is going on in their home ? I'm happy you came to this decision. This is beyond usual kid stuff imho.

I woke up yesterday with a cold, and it is the worst .....running nose, head ache, coughing and super tired... also went to the pharmacy to see if they recommended anything I could take...nope nothing. Hoping all the sleep and water I am drinking drinking is helping and I get better soon if not I have an appointment Wednesday so I will ask the Dr. Also my husband feels bad cause he had it last week and gave me the cold but on the plus side he has been taking really good care of me.
  • @kdw89 I read online (so take this with a grain of salt) that hot water with honey is as good as cough syrup since it's not actually proven cough syrup helps get rid of coughs faster. I drank it when I had my cold and if nothing else, it just comforted me haha. Colds during pregnancy are the worst, I hope you feel better soon!

Thanks @DuchessOfCambridge I will have to try the honey and hot water.
  • Honeybee is apparently not satisfied with calcium from the prenatal vitamins in addition to me eating a lot of high-calcium foods because he's leeching it from my teeth. Went to brush my teeth this morning and my tooth (which I had to get drilled and filled because of a cavity just a month ago) chipped! So I have to go back to the dentist for another fill-in. :(

  • @BayCamp You GO girl! So proud of you for standing up for yourself and your kid. I've babysat kids like that in the past and I have to say you're much more patient than I am.

  • @cottingham3 Girl I feel you. I always feel my heart break a little when I see stuff like that and I have to restrain myself from buying it. We just don't have the money to spend on adorable prints and fancy AiO and fitted diapers. It's flats and covers with a few inserts for us, at least to start with.

  • @hippiestinkmom that sucks about your tooth! My dentist has me switch toothpate because I was vomiting so much and the acid was starting to erode my teeth.

Shoot *I* made myself switch toothpaste because my other one had added sweetener that caused the cavity in the first place! Luckily our dentist is great at what he does, so I'm sure a small fill-in won't be too bad. He said it's normal to have some tooth problems during pregnancy and scolded me for waiting two years to come in since my last visit.

Also UO, but I actually really enjoy getting cavities drilled and filled. After the novocaine shots are finished I can just sit back and relax, and I feel basically no pain after it wears off.

  • @Tourmalily OMG that's horrible, I am so glad you are okay, and baby too.
  • I've pee'd literally 4 times in the last 10minutes I'm about to put on a diaper. Wahhhhh I don't want to go to the potty anymore. Why can't it all come out at once.  Lmao!!!
