How are things going with you? Pretty good! I feel like there's not really that much to update though...

NBR GTKY: describe your ideal long weekend. Sleeping in a bit, but not too much, then having a waterfront picnic or BBQ, swimming if it's hot, just hanging out if it's cool...family games (card games, board games, whatever) in the evening....basically cottage life, although I had that weekend last weekend and didn't even leave the city!

Things are totally uneventful right now in the pregnancy world! With the exception of tying to find a maternity bathing suit with an underwire and some padding/shaping! Good grief!

Ohhh this one is fun, more because there are s few of us in the family all due close to each other and we were comparing symptoms. Soooo mine were pretty split this time around, as with my DS they were not (thought for sure he was a girl)but we were wrong. I thought for sure baby #2 was going to be a boy, despite my mixed old wives takes. That was until the vomitting started at 12 weeks.

Part b: if we aren't team green I think we all know what we are having now, so we're they accurate?

Some were, some were not. We are having a girl this time around so I'll say the three earliest most noticeable ones were my left breast was noticeably larger then the right, daily vomiting at 12 weeks-this just backed down to a few days a week now, and my utine was very dull.

NBR GTKY: describe your ideal long weekend.

This one is easy and hard, but it would definitely include no cleaning and a little bit of sleeping in. Otherwise i can have fun doing just about anything.

How are things going with you? Things are going well. I have a check-up tomorrow and am excited to hear baby's heartbeat. I've been a little nervous the past couple days because I haven't felt a lot of movement, so hopefully that will calm my nerves. A littler nervous too about my weight gain...

Part b: if we aren't team green I think we all know what we are having now, so we're they accurate? We are Team Green so we don't know, but I have a feeling it's a boy too.

NBR GTKY: describe your ideal long weekend. My ideal long weekend is me being home alone cleaning, organizing, and doing DIY projects. DH would be out of town (which never happens) or out hunting/fishing. Nothing against DH but I get so much more done around the house when he isn't there. Then on the last day DH and I would take a short drive and find a new place to eat.

@jillibean0871 I hear you on the bathing suit front. I ordered this one from Land's End, it's arriving today. I'll let you know how it goes- my boobs are huge, and it has soft cups, not underwire (which I really prefer for the big boobs). I'm pretty sure I'll have to send it back, but I'm trying! I decreased my expectations to the point where I'm just hoping for something that will keep me relatively covered and contained. Seraphine had some cute ones when I checked last week, too.

How are things going with you? Good! Dealing with a lot of pubic symphysis pain, hoping the midwife will have some pointers when I see her in a few weeks. Otherwise, I feel great! It's getting harder to shave, and breathe when I bend over, but no complaints. I was able to make it to the gym twice this week, and it helped a lot with calming my anxiety.

Part a: what did the old wives tales gender predictions say? Almost all of them said girl. Like, 90% of the gender predictions, haha. Tbh, though, this pregnancy felt SO much like my last, I was pretty sure it was a boy.

Part b: if we aren't team green I think we all know what we are having now, so we're they accurate? Nope, totally wrong. I'm definitely having a boy, it was literally the first thing both the u/s tech and the doctor who came to do the follow up said. Apparently DS2 was in prime position for junk spotting!

NBR GTKY: describe your ideal long weekend. Oh gosh. A rustic (but with central air, haha) cabin in the woods, next to a big ass lake that has no neighbors. A fire pit, kayaking, hiking, smores, and lots.of.sunshine. (We're going on 23 days of rain in the last month here in MD). Sleeping in as late as I want. Making a real dinner that isn't rushed by a toddler. Obviously, this is all a child free scenario, haha.

@ColoradoHiker let me know how the swim suit is! I ordered one from Amazon, non maternity but extra length tankini(fingers crossed it's long enough to cover the bump). It has a wire and it's too matronly looking. I'll keep everyone posted on that. Plus it came in bra sizes which seemed magical to me!

@jillibean0871 Bra sized swimsuits?? It's like a magical unicorn in my world. I usually get my swimsuits from Bravissimo (and bras, for that matter), but they don't have any maternity swimsuits. Womp womp. I wore my bra sized suit from them while I was pregnant with DS, but he wasn't due until November, so I was able to eek it out until the end of August. It's not going to happen this time!! Let me know how the Amazon one works out.

@ColoradoHiker Yeah I expect to be disappointed but I'm trying to stay positive that as long as it is long enough (it claims 6 extra inches of length) that it will work. Should be here Saturday so I'll update you then! If it works I'll send you the link also

How are things going with you? Pretty good. Slowly getting over a cold. My busy season for work is ramping up so at this point I suspect I will be working between 6-7 days a week for awhile. Which honestly being pregnant has made way more exhausting then it use to be.

pregnancy GTKY: We have known since the 1st ultrasound what we were having because we did IVF/FET CCS testing so they were able to tell us gender at that point.

Long weekend includes eating good food, naps, maybe reading a book or watching tv or movies, hanging out with friends or family doing something fun like pontooning. Just lots of relaxing.

How are things going with you? Things are good. The tailbone pain is erally bad some days but other days it's non-existent. Today is a bad day. Other than that, life is pretty aweseome!

A good mix between being social and relaxing at home. This past weekend was just that. It was awesome.

@jillibean0871 it seems most people cover more while pregnant...I went the other way.. I usually wear a 1 piece no belly showing except for a couple tankinis as a teen. I got a bikini from h&m for this summer, but more boob coverage... it's reversible!

jillibean0871 It doesn't have wires and isn't a pregnancy suit but as a plus size girl that is well endowed this is one of my favorite swim suits (1 piece) I have purchased online. It is comfy, has straps if you want them or you don't have to wear them (I mostly don't), it has lining inside to keep things as they should be and a pretty well done shelf bra. Swimsuit I usually get a lot of flattering comments when I wear it. Best of luck in the search!

ColoradoHiker I ordered one almost exactly like that for our family trip this spring and everything fit pretty good (except for it being a little long...I am short)...but the shelf bra didn't cover my chest (would have been very very risque all hanging out). I sorta was tempted to figure out a way to remake it cause it was cute...but instead it just went into my donate to goodwill box. I hope yours fits better!

@BecauseLove That's what I'm worried about. I bumped it up a size, I'm hoping it will be enough to just survive the summer. I really like the style, I've seen a lot of workout shirts that are that style from Athleta, but I wouldn't be able to do any working out besides walking in them, lol. Big boobs are not easy to shop for!

@BigBadWolf12 I presented the idea of a bikini to my husband yesterday, he pretty much said it freaks him right out. So that was a clear answer to me. I'm not sure I'm brave enough either way as I wasn't in fabulous shape pre-pregnancy. Though I'm also not too proud to be miserably hot and uncomfortable so if it comes to that it might just happen.

I just wish they made more maternity suits with wires and some support bc why do we have to look frumpy! I'll keep everyone posted on the one I bought from Amazon and if it at all works!

@BigBadWolf12 I didn't think about it that way or even putting a tank top over it! Now I might be on board with this! Ok you've just opened my eyes to this as a possibility. We have a pool so quite honestly if he doesn't like my bump floating around in our back yard he can go inside, but i think his concern was our family vacation with his whole family, this can easily be fixed with a tank over the bikini! Ohhhhh this might just work

How are things going with you? Acne, tail bone pain, hip pain, upper back pain. Maybe I should get a belly band thing? I had the dentist today and I had a successful appt! But they asked about pain and I said Yes I'm really hurting with the hip pain! And they said oh just wait! It'll get worse!..... -.- why do you feel the need to tell me that. I know it will. But I hurt now.

I'd love to go out with DH somewhere fancy. Get dressed up, take a nice walk on a beach, eat a fabulous meal, drink wine. And I want to sleep in with him. And I want sex like on our honeymoon.

How are things going with you? Pretty good! Starting to get more uncomfortable at 27 weeks, but nothing I can't handle.

Questions? Anyone hiring a doula or birth photographer? I'd love both, but at this point, I can't justify the cost since I'm going to be without a paycheck for so long during maternity leave.

NBR GTKY: describe your ideal long weekend. Sleeping in with DH (We work opposite shifts and rarely get to sleep at the same time) A nice dinner out with friends, or grilling outside, then just lazy time to catch up on TV shows or movies.

@MrsVP614 No photographer or doula (I realize they're not the same, but since I'm with a midwife group, I feel like I get some of the same things you would from a doula).

But, for the birth photography, do you have someone you trust enough to see your hooha and take pictures? I honestly love every single picture from when DS was born, even though none were by a professional. DH was holding my leg and couldn't take them during the actual birth, but afterwards he took some of DS and I, and the nurses were awesome and offered to take some as well.

@ColoradoHiker I will prob go that route and have DH bring his nice camera, and hopefully be in a situation where a nurse could snap a few pics. I'm actually not a big pic person. We never take selfies or pics unless it's really a special occasion. I've been obsessed with all these beautiful birth photos on instagram, and I think they'd be awesome to have to remember those special moments. But I know they'd be super expensive, I'd have to deal with another person present while I'm delivering, and I honestly don't know if I'd like them as much if I'm looking at myself giving birth.
Just wondering if anyone had a good experience to share that would convince me otherwise.

@MrsVP614 no doula and no professional birth photographer. we'll have the camera there and DH is a really good amateur/hobby photographer, so if I'm not against the idea of labour pictures then (idk how i feel about that personally) and he's able, he can snap some, but it's not something I'm dying for. He will, however, be on photograph patrol once LO is out

MrsVP614 yep we are doing a doula and a baby photographer will happen a few weeks after birth...our wedding photographer gifted us a baby photo shoot so that is free (other than a nice tip). Our Doula was only 800...which is a lot of money but when I considered she does 2 appointments before delivery and 2 post and will drive the 2 hours 1 way to our home town for appointments and will be on call for our delivery it seemed like a small amount to pay. I feel like I have done a crappy job preparing for delivery and baby so far so I am a bit reassured that she will be there...and mostly that she will be there to help my husband know how to help support me and help me advocate for myself. My DH is a very calm and not chatty person where I am much more dominant and clear about my needs but I have found when I can't get up and track someone down it is really hard to leave it in his hands to solve things or get help...so my hope is with her in his corner he will feel more supported in supporting me.
