DD's 2 year molars are bulging and I'm seriously annoyed that hylands teething tablets have been taken of the market.

My high school kid is stressing me out because she isn't taking class deadlines seriously and getting things turned in. She thinks she has plenty of time but she only has 17 days which also includes testing for finals. Not sure what happened to my focused and detail oriented child. Plus baby is due in 17 days and my 2 year old is becoming a monster!

@JennMof3 I'm so sorry you're struggling with your 2yo, but know you are NOT alone! DS (3) has done a complete 180 with his behavior over the past 2 weeks or so and I'm seriously at my wits end!

@GoodWitchoftheNorth My husband just text me asking if your son is still sassy today!?! I was like umm yes of course because he is your son :-).

It's like he senses something is coming and already becoming rebellious. Hoping to get in a couple days of play group this week to wear him out.

Ugh I hear you. DD is getting all 4 canine teeth in at once (and maybe her 2 year molars?) and they're taking forever to come through. She's a miserable mess, not eating or sleeping well and I'm due in 2 days! Not good timing!

Noooooo! At least we've only got two coming in right now. I don't think I could handle all 4.

Finally got into the chiropractor today and have some relief on my back pain! I know it won't last too long as this baby continues pushing on everything but maybe I'll get some sleep tonight while everything is still aligned!

Also getting really nervous about having this baby. It is starting to feel real now that it's so close.

DD got all 4 of her canines and all 4 of her one year molars at the same time, over a 6 week time period. it was MADNESS, and i was in the first tri and wanted to die. thank god for baby Motrin and Tylenol. I'm just waiting on the two year molars now. i know they're going to start coming in like the second this baby starts sleeping a decent stretch at night, and DD will have me up right in the middle of that stretch. Either that or her molars will come in right when this baby's first teeth start to push through. Something terrible is going to happen, i just know it.

Yes. Shit just got real. T-2 days for me. I'm having so much anxiety about the IV, nothing else, just that and it's consuming me.

@Stankonia2014, what about the IV makes you anxious? I'm claustrophobic and in my first delivery I was so nervous about getting the IV. The nurse actually laughed with me and was like, of all the things that are going to happen today, you're afraid of the IV?! I just had never had one before and didn't know what to expect, and thought it would make me claustrophobic, but in all the excitement I forgot about it pretty quickly. This time around I was distracted by other things so it didn't bother me at all. Hope that's the case for you too!

Oh, that's a pain (literally!). I think mine was in my hand the first time and my arm slightly higher this time. Maybe you can request they do it elsewhere. Good luck!

It will be over before you know it and you will have that sweet squish.

@Stankonia2014 I'm nervous about the iv too. I have a weird relationship with it because I hate needles and last time it burst my vein and I had to get it redone on the other hand. But then it saved my life in the end, so I guess it was worth the disgusting bruise.

I'll take the IV any day over the epidural. I had one done right and one done wrong. I'm nervous about it but I don't think I can do another no meds delivery.

Lots of Braxton hicks, and I'm starting to feel them a little. Theyre starting to ache. Feeling more punches in my bladder too. I'm trying to decide if the baby is dropping or not. Sometimes, I think my bump looks lower and sometimes it doesn't. I have an appointment tomorrow, so hopefully they say he is! At my last appointment, I was 36 1/2 weeks and measuring 40!

@lovesclimbing, DD1 dropped, then I went swimming and she floated right back on up. It happened a few times before she was born.

@Kylieslip24, the nurses blew veins on both of my arms. My mw said when they use lidocaine to numb topically, it can cause the vein to roll when they try to stick it. That nasty bruise lasted for weeks!

Interesting. It's funny because it really didn't hurt, or I was in too much pain to notice, but the nurse was young and newish I think because she was so upset at herself. I was like, "huh, that looks terrible but I don't feel it." That must be why!

@Stankonia2014 I totally feel your pain here. I've had veins roll and last year had a nurse totally give up and declare that the anesthesiologist could just figure it out in the OR since she couldn't get a vein that wouldn't just clot up. Add in that I get a mild allergic reaction to any adhesives, and I'm pretty much guaranteed to be bruised and red by the time it's all sorted out!

My first epidural was easy peasy, this time it took a lot longer as they kept hitting nerves (didn't know this was a thing) and I kept having to tell them where the pain was. It was uncomfortable and a bit off-putting but after that initial 10 minutes of getting it right, I was very glad I had it. I'll take 10 minutes of discomfort over hours of relief any day. Good luck!

That's awful! I mean seriously, aren't we experience enough pain already without incompetent people making things worse. My daughter had to have a ct done and it took 7 tries to get the IV in and three different people. She is my child that cried when she got a flu shot :-/ I felt so bad for her.

Mine didn't hurt (at the time) either. I was just annoyed that I had to hold still for so long. This time, I'm definitely going to decline any topical numbing agent.

I slightly resent that you'd refer to nurses as incompetent for not being able to get an IV in. It's not like operating a cash register. We're dealing with the human body, and everyone has different veins. I'd feel terrible if my child had to get stuck 7 times, but I'd understand that the nurses were doing their best.

At this hospital we've have experiences with great nurses and not so great nurses. Two of my 3 kids have had to be stuck several time to place IV's there. When we've been other places it was handled on the first attempt. Some people are just better at it than others. Yes, you're right everyone is different. There truly are some amazing nurses out there and I appreciate their hard work. My L&D nurses will get a follow up card and cookies.
