I'm sorry @EmilyLove25, I know the anxiety can be terrible. As best as you can try to stay away from Dr. Google and try to avoid comparing this to your previous pregnancy, though I know that's easier said than done. I'm a FTM but I've had losses and one mantra a friend recommended to me is "different pregnancy, different baby." Just try to cling to the fact that your doctor said everything's right on track.
ETA if you have nothing to do and need a distraction, I find adult coloring books pretty helpful.
@EmilyLove25 that's a great heart rate for 6 weeks! Baby's heart just started beating and it gets faster... So don't worry if it is on the lower end. It will beat faster! I had an ultrasound at week 6, baby 's hr was 127. At almost week 9 it was 170-something anxiety can be awful. Try not to over think it and just relax and enjoy
@EmilyLove25 I'm right there with you. I haven't seen baby or any heartbeat yet, so I'm obsessing over every little thing. I find myself googling everything that can go wrong at this point, as well as later in my pregnancy. My anxiety was never this bad with DD. Hugs to you
@schaze and @EmilyLove25 I'm with you two too. My anxiety this time is a lot worse than it was with DD. It really doesn't help that the only symptoms I have right now are bloat and mood swings. Creepy internet hugs to both of you!
@KLake42 I took zofran with my J13 and diclegis with the surrobabe (born June 2016). Neither worked great, but the zofran worked better than the diclegis. Hopefully I'm just an odd man out!
Anyone else having "small stomach syndrome?" I didn't do this with either previous pregnancy. One minute I'm full, the next I'm ravenous to the point of nausea. But then I can only eat a bite or 2 of something before I'm too full (and nauseous again). This just started yesterday and I'm perplexed!

@missblaze yes! I feel better as soon as I take a bite and it's feels like I should keep eating a normal sized meal but can't or I swing back to feeling like crap...
I remember not being able to eat much when your further along because baby has taken up so much abdominal space, but not at 7w!

@EmilyLove25 I'm sorry you are anxious but it sounds like a great HB! I know it is so hard not to worry but the reason there are ranges is because every baby is a little different.
Question for STM or second time pregnancies: how many of you felt respite after the first trimester from MS? I am wondering how much I should worry that I'll feel this miserable all the way through.
I'm applying for jobs right now (or trying to, at least) and I honestly cannot focus because I feel awful .
@libbberty, I felt horribly nauseous during my first trimester but didn't throw up too often. Maybe once or twice a week. Then, I felt amazing in the second tri, but threw up ALL the time. Like, I would feel perfectly fine, barf all of a sudden, and then feel fine again. So far, this pregnancy is doing the same thing. Crazy nausea, but only throwing up here and here (mainly when I smell meat).
@EmilyLove25 I just had an US this past week and measured 6w5d and the FHR was 122. I was a little nervous with how low but my doctor said it was great! I feel you on the anxiety though. It seems as though there is always something to worry about!
@libbberty I felt terrible with both my previous babies in first tri. Even worse with my second baby. Sick all day long with occasional barfing. I started to improve around 12 or 13 weeks and finally felt good again by 19-20 weeks. Repreive came sooner with my first baby. It's hard to imagine ever feeling good again but two times prior I recovered. And I even lost all my pregnancy weight, twice! But that's a discussion for another time. I'm sure I'll need reminded of that in a few months!
I'm only 5w6d but I have basically no symptoms other than always being hungry. The lack of symptoms makes me nervous. Never thought I'd wish for sore boobs or morning sickness. When did everyone's real symptoms start?
@libbberty The first trimester was hell, but at 12-13 weeks I started to feel AMAZING. Like a glowing, fabulous, high-energy goddess. And I stayed that way until our little guy was born. Even when I got bad SPD pain in the third trimester, it didn't affect my good mood. So don't lose hope! There's a good chance you'll start feeling better soon.
@melsue18 The cramping and gas are real! A lot of the cramping is your uterus getting used to the idea that there's a baby in there. I had the same, as well as the indescribable gas pains with my first and now this one was well. It does eventually get better, only to be replaced by my favorite, round ligament pain.
@michwich-2 I get cysts on my ovaries as well that cause those stabby feelings, definitely not comforting when pregnant. I've become familiar with them over the years though and know what they feel like so I don't panic. I have one on my right ovary rightness now and it's super annoying.
@Eags All day, every day with the small stomach syndrome. I have to continually take one or two bites of something all day long or I feel like I'm going to barf. I know once I get to second tri it will pass though. It's rough, but I found the most reliable way to get calories in was to make smoothies. I basically tricked my body into accepting food in liquid form
@knottiea4e5dcbfd11c5d62 I am in the middle of week 8 and for the most part have been symptomless. The symptoms I do have, on and off back pain, bloat, and fatigue, really could be missed if I didnt already know I was expecting. I feel your pain though, our first ultrasound was Tuesday, until then I was stressing over whether it was really there and if anything was wrong, but turns out everything is perfect, embrace your lack of symptoms, I keep being told it might just hit me later than normal.
@libbberty 1st pregnancy the nausea went away at 12w on the dot. 2nd pregnancy they were still hanging around at 18-20w but had slightly lessened (it was an IVF and I the progesterone made me nauseated from day 1)

Is anyone else on levothyroxine/synthroid? I'm struggling with nausea and how to take this pill. My endo said it has to be first thing in the morning, with a full glass of water on an empty stomach, and then I can't eat for another 45 minutes. I never had issues with this before, but since the nausea kicked in it's been brutal. All the ms tips like eating some crackers when you first wake up don't apply, and I end up lying in bed for 45 minutes feeling like there's water sloshing around my stomach and trying not to throw up my pill. Anyone else dealing with this?
@cbrennan04 Thank you so much for sharing your experience. It's crazy how a doctor can look us in the face and say the rate is great, but we still do not believe it! I guess this is part of the reason some places don't do super early Ultrasounds! Thank you again! Your experience is making me feel a bit better!

@remindmeofthebabe I'm on it (have been since ttc our 1st back in 2011-2012). This will be my 3rd pregnancy on it. I've have 2 different REs tell me, so your best. In the 1st tri, you may have to take the pill and immediately eat some crackers, etc. it's ok. It's better to get the pill in you with some food than throw it up.

Thanks @Eags! I actually have an RE appointment today so I'll ask about it. That definitely makes sense though, and a few crackers aren't like eating a full meal.
So this morning, I noticed what could have been the teeniest bit of pink blood when I wiped. Of course, after experiencing a previous loss, I instantly worried and decided to check my CP. It was really low, soft, and open, but I didn't see any more blood. From my research, I thought CP during pregnancy was supposed to be high, closed and hard, so this has me concerned. Does anyone have any experience with CP during pregnancy?
@darkrose88 I'm sorry. I was never good at checking my cervix so I didn't do that as part of TTC. I have hallucinated pink blood on toilet paper however... could you call your doctor and get some reassurance?
@remindmeofthebabe I take levo. Definitely ask a doctor, but my understanding from my first pregnancy is that consistency is more important than a completely empty stomach. A bit of food could absorb a bit of the drug, but your doctor should be monitoring your levels throughout your pregnancy anyway and adjusting your dosage.
@EmilyLove25 It would not surprise me if I hallucinated the pink blood. It was such a small amount, if it was there at all. After talking myself off a ledge, I decided I'm going to wait it out and see if I get anymore blood before I call the doctor. I just thought my cervix being so low & open was very odd at 8 weeks pregnant.
I'm on levo, my RE upped my dose right before we transferred bc my levels were high, I'm waiting to hear back from them on where its at now but I just called and the office is closed for the holiday weekend so I guess I'll hear back on Tuesday.... Lucky for me so far water is the only thing that settles my stomach, so taking it first thing on an empty stomach hasn't been an issue.
I am glad there are some other ladies who don't have very many symptoms like me. According to my LMP in in week 8, but according to the measurements at my first U/S I am about a week behind so 7 weeks. It makes me super nervous not having the morning sickness like everyone around me has been telling me about. On top of that my first u/s was too early to check for heartbeat since I was measuring 5w5days at the time. I will say that my boobs are freaking gigantic which is awesome but they hurt so bad!!! This week I thankfully feel like I've turned a corner. Still no morning sickness but the bloat is unreal and I can't keep my stomach in at all. I really look pregnant, so much so everyone at work knows. Everyone. I have another follow up u/s next week which I can barely keep my shit together for.
@Baby_is_coming .. You pretty much explained me so we are in the same boat. I thought I was going to be eight weeks by this Sunday but I'm actually a week off and closer to turning seven weeks. I had an ultrasound at what I now know was 6w1d and there was a tiny tiny tiny spot that the dr said was baby and no heartbeat to see yet. It's been nerve wracking waiting for my next ultrasound on this upcoming Wednesday to check growth. I am so paranoid over symptoms. My boobs are sore and I'm tired and moody at times but my morning sickness is light/non existent. At times I feel gaggy but not every day and it's not reassuring when it comes and goes like that. I'm going nuts waiting to find out everything is fine and I was just a week off on my dates. Fingers crossed for you too!
Kind of a hard question here! Second time mom and this will be our rainbow baby (fingers crossed). I had some dark spotting this morning just a few drops and all subsided until I got home and went to the bathroom and there was bright red streaking. I've gone to the bathroom twice since and it is light pink with discharge (sorry I know TMI). We miscarried at 4 week in February so I am super nervous. Checked HCG levels Wednesday which were at 8000 and had blood drawn again today but won't get results until tomorrowand OB appt not till Wednesday. Could I have just over worked myself this week? Has anyone experienced this and went on with a healthy pregnancy? TIA
Hi Ladies, Forgive me for my intrusion . I am in need of some advice or support. I have been feeling kind of down the past few days. I'm 6w1d along and I have lost most of my symptoms except for being tired and not having an appetite. I had a m/c 9 years ago and I was not able to get pregnant until now. I even had done 7 iui's which were all failed attempts. This time it just happened on it's own. I'm so terrified to loose this one too. I guess my biggest worry is that my symptoms are disappearing. Also, yesterday I had these horrible cramps that put me into tears but there was no bleeding with it. I am just wondering if there is anyone in the same boat. Or has anyone ever had these symptoms and gone on to have a successful pregnancy? Anyway, I'm sorry again for intruding on your ladies post. Just hoping for some positive news to help me get through till my Dr's appointment next Friday.
@remindmeofthebabe I also take that same thyroid medication. It is SO hard having an empty stomach in the morning. I just feel so awful and sick. I take my pill and if I feel a strong urge to throw up I eat one saltine cracker and try to make it at least 30 minutes before I eat something more substantial. I've also found that taking my medication and then taking a shower keeps my mind off feeling sick and makes the time go by faster.
@klm45420 You are not intruding, this is what this thread is for! [edited because words are hard]
I'm sorry you're going through that. I am only 5w4d and my symptoms have been pretty light, but I do have days where I have them and ones where I do not seem to have any - like one day I was sooo tired this week and then the last couple days I've been the energizer bunny. It freaks me out too. I've seen a lot of other ladies post here that they have hours/days where their symptoms disappear. I also have seen a lot of ladies post that they have cramping. Cramping and even some bleeding are normal. I am not a doctor but I think what you are describing is pretty common in healthy pregnancies.
With your history can you strong arm your way into your doctor sooner just to relieve your anxiety? Remind them of your history and tell them how anxious you are.
@klm45420 My symptoms have been mild and have flucuated a lot. It's scary, but so far so good. I've had two miscarriages and now that I am beyond the points where they happened and we got to hear the heartbeat, I'm breathing a lot easier. But it is HARD not to compare and nitpick every symptom. How much longer till your first appointment?
@klm45420 and @knottie7b32ef9aad4bd504 I had spotting with both of my previous pregnancies the first time around 7 weeks the second time around 5-6weeks. And I even had a break from symptoms with my first while I had the spotting. The spotting lasted for a few days. I was a wreck about it. But I went on to have healthy children both times. You can definitely have spotting and relief from symptoms and it still goes fine. I think if you get heavy bleeding you should be concerned. You can call your dr about the spotting anyway if it makes you feel better.
@klm45420 hugs! I know how awful the fear and anxiety can be However, with my first pregnancy, I was SO worried the night before my 7 week appointment because I had NO symptoms! Everything was fine... and I'm 8w3days now and DEFINITELY felt my symptoms come and go up until this week-some days I had to squeeze my boobs to feel ANY soreness. As for the cramping, I think k two things: first, cramping is normal. Second, since it was so intense, could it have been a result of dehydration? Anyway, I know Friday can't come quickly enough for you! Hugs and FX!
Reporting back on diclegis-- it's like a miracle for me.
I'm two days in, on the lowest dose, and I'm still experiencing nausea, but at maybe 30% of what it was. And it kicks in in the afternoon, so the morning was good (I take two pills before bed).
I feel like this might allow me to make some healthier food choices, get some veggies in, and even cook at home. I've been eating mostly takeout, which is expensive, and who knows what chemicals are leaching out of the plastic and styrofoam. I'm putting together a grocery list for tomorrow.
It's like night and day. I'm so glad I gave in and decided to try this. I feel like it will really help me take better care of myself.
I'm not at normal, but I don't need to be normal. I just need to be able to manage.
