What my pregnant self is eating 5/25

I'm finally able to choke down a pregnancy smoothie this morning, which is more than I've been able to do for the last week. I'm about halfway through it at this point. The rest of the work day I have a banana, bagel with cream cheese, dates, raspberries, blueberries, corn and roasted pepper soup, and an energy bar. I need a variety because I never know what will make me gag.

  • Whatever doesn't make me want to puke :) This week I've had a lot of tomato soup, bananas, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and one day I choked down a salad for lunch. Last night we went out for sushi (cooked) and it was soooo good.

  • Nothing, Im eating nothing right now and that makes me sad. I thought I was going to luck out and not get MS.......I still havent puked yet but BAM! this morning i am super nauseated. I couldnt even drink my half cup of watered down coffee :( I took a ginger pill but now im just burping up ginger. Maybe I'll go home early :/

  • Knock on wood so far my only good aversion  (which was the same last pregnancy) is anything with a lot of cheese. No quesadillas, no mac and cheese and no grilled cheeses. No MS yet either sooo I had a banana before work and I've got ramen and veggies with tanjin for lunch. (I actually like ramen so its not as terrible as it may sound to some!) Ha!
  • I have been eating the exact same thing every work day. I have cheese toast for breakfast (I learned quickly that any type of meat does not sit well in the a.m.). Then during the work day I am having strawberries and raspberries, melon chunks, a pb&j, and some pretzels and cheese crackers. Sometimes I have a chocolate boost shake if I need it in the afternoon. For dinner, I have been eating pretty much whatever. No major aversions yet (except meat in the morning), but I can't eat anything greasy or too spicy.

    @BrandedCowgirl92 - I miss ramen. I only eat it with poached eggs which means it's out for me during pregnancy!

    I had planned on getting Chick fil A for lunch today and was really excited about it but it doesn't sound good which is a bummer because it's my favorite.
  • Still no aversions or nausea, so pretty much whatever I (or baby) want! Today's breakfast was turkey bacon, egg, and cheese on an English muffin. Lunch will be leftovers, either broccoli quiche or shepherds pie. Snacks are undecided, but I'm been loving clementines lately. Dinner is lasagna. I also baked brownies last night, I'm sure I'll shove a couple of those in my mouth at various times of the day.

  • I did not want coffee today. First time that has happened to me in decades, and it makes me sad. I'm basically having a hard time eating anything that isn't 100% prepared by someone else for me, which is lovely since DH is gone for 2 weeks. Good news is that the only thing I can really eat are fresh foods like fruits and veggies (I just want to drown those veggies in fattening dressings and dips). Last night I made baked chicken tenders and they were fine at the time, but now thinking of them, I just start gagging.

    @mamakassie2 brownies DO sound great! Maybe I need to get on the brownie train.

  • I had pb&j on toast for breakfast, but since I left for work I started feeling really queasy. I finally made it in (thanks, D.C. drivers in the rain) and started popping Ice Breakers Sours. Because nothing goes with MS better than an annual employee review!  :# I have a Greek yogurt for a snack later.
    Lunch will depend on what's looks good in the cafeteria (probably soup or veggies), and I'll be on my own for dinner too since I think Lil Z is gonna ask DH to make Hamburger Helper which I don't eat.

  • I just want to eat all the Original flavored Pringles... why are they so good?! Currently stuffing my face with some at work for a morning snack. The saltiness and that crunch is so satisfying.

  • Peanut butter has always been my favorite indulgent....and now I cant stand the thought of it :( my go to food right now is queso. It's been my lunch the last couple days. Last week it was turkey pot pies, but now that sounds bad too

    I was finally able to eat breakfast! Up until today eating before noon was 100% a no go. I have been having a (decaf) latte with whole milk to get calories in.  I think I'm going to start with green smoothies in the morning to get the veggies in, food overall hasn't been super appealing so I know I'm not eating as much as I need to...
    @TInman87 mmmmmm queso, cheese is pretty much the only thing that sounds good to me these days!
    @libbberty the same thing happens to me, I think of something I ate before and it's like I can't believe I actually put that in my mouth, ugh.

  • @libbberty ditto with coffee. I had weaned myself down to half caf while TTC so I wouldn't have withdraw when I needed to cut back -- and then on Saturday coffee sounded bad and I haven't been able to have any since :( I'm so tired and all caffeinated beverages sound gross and I'm so sad about it.

    I've been a wreck this week. I made it past 7 weeks without any major food aversions, but they have definitely hit. I haven't been able to drink my green smoothie the last two mornings, and the roasted cauliflower soup I was going to make last night made me gag at the thought of it. So we got In-n-Out. SUPER healthy.
    DH made lunches last night, and the only thing that sounded remotely okay was a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I don't usually like PB and J's. I don't even know who I am anymore...
  • You guys need to stop talking about nachos and queso!!

    I'm having a lot of trouble with breakfast. I am starving when I wake up, but when I actually eat something I feel so icky. I'm so ready for tacos tonight though.

    ugh - Nothing sounds good for me - thankfully smells aren't really getting to me - but the thought of my lunch makes me gag... I don't know what I'm going to eat - the only thing that sounds good I fast food chicken nuggets and fries and I'm so not a fast food person.
  • What are y'all eating to get your calcium in besides milk? I've been drinking a glass every night but before pregnancy I never drank it because of the rediculous bloat it cause me.

    Oh, and it was goooooood, @KatieEl. I don't think I could survive without In-n-Out. It's pretty much the only fast food that we eat.  
  • Oh good lord queso sounds delicious. I ate an entire bag of beef jerky this afternoon. Sorry, not sorry. Also, it's too freaking hot to eat and the country I live in does not believe in air conditioning. Ugh.

  • Welp, I broke the "rules" and ordered a huge salad from the deli down the street, which of course, had turkey and ham on it. I needed some protein and I haven't been able to eat meat or anything healthy in a week. I feel so much better. Sorry not sorry.

  • @Mudge85 - OMG the thought of an oreo mcflurry is making me want to brave the downpour we have right now to get one! 

    For me the nausea is still pretty mild, but getting some stronger tones when thinking or smelling certain foods. Almost no nausea yesterday, so DH grilled shrimp for dinner. Tasting it was delicious, but the SMELL...oh god, no. Today the nausea is back along with the strong aversions. Only thing that seemed slightly yummy was chicken Pad Thai, so i got 2 orders of it delivered...and now i'm so hungry i may eat both! :flushed:

    Haha, @missblaze, I had lunch meat once right after BFP, and then freaked out mid-sandwich because I remembered, "holy eff, I'm not supposed to eat lunchmeat." I still finished the sandwich though. My mama didn't raise no quitter!
  • @cyanope - i did that recently too! i "forgot" that i was pregnant, and went to subway with DH. I usually just get a salad or a veggie sub, but this time i got a meat sub. then i remembered, and just had them put it through the toaster a second time, to make sure it was all steaming...
  • I usually eat super healthy, but baby dearest wants Ramen. So I've been eating that. Yuck! Lol. And cheeseburgers with kraft singles. Another thing I'd never normally eat.

    The nausea hasn't been terrible though so I can eat other things too. Lots of salads, cheese sticks, pickles, etc.

  • @AdaliaAngel - i'm dreading if this little one takes after DH at all...I'll be downing hot sauce and jalapenos! yuck! i don't really have a spicy tolerance, and he is inhuman with his tolerance...so that won't be fun at all! lol
  • The nausea is full force but thankfully I have only puked twice in the last few weeks. Today I feel like I am starving yet I have been eating ALL morning! I am currently craving cheese quesadillas with mashed avocado, and scrambled eggs with ketchup.. I normally hate eggs so this is weird for me! Also craving bacon like no other, I've held out for the last few days but may have to buy some real soon!
  • I'm not eating JACK and I can tell it's a problem because I'm getting hangry. Currently trying to build up the courage to eat lunch. True, pathetic story: I've had to quit scrolling Instagram because just looking at all the food pics makes me feel gross. :(

  • Give me all the avocados. And the fruit. And salad without actual lettuce. DH has made me a summer salad of avocado, fresh corn, tomatoes, and cucumbers with avocado dressing. Yum. And then he made cantaloupe, melon, shallots and mint into a salsa with jalapeño and lime. I basically eat it straight out of the bowl. Also, give me all of the low fat sour cream Pringles. Lol. 
  • @mdfarmchick I'm with ya on the avocados!! Been making Mexican bowls with rice beans avacado lettuce pepper and onion yum!!! Thankfully right now I'm craving all healthy food. I'm sure that will change if MS kicks in 
  • @amack22 I craved avocados with DS too. I still remember sitting down at like 10 weeks pregnant at Cheesecake Factory and eating the entire bowl of fresh made guacamole and sour cream. Haha! And I have MS throughout the day so you may keep wanting the healthy stuff!
  • @PleaseSendPicklesNow thanks for the laugh! I'm living on pasta. Thankfully I can still handle a couple different sauces. Alfredo usually makes me sick, but so far so good!

    just white food here. I'm terrified of the weight gain already and I'm not throwing anything up, just SUPER queasy. 
  • @SouthernMs same! I've had to turn off the TV or stop looking at Instagram or Pinterest because the food makes me feel queasy.
  • @schaze It's bumming me out. DH went to Costco last night and brought me back a churro (what a keeper!), but I couldn't eat but one bite. :'(
