I went to my body pump class for the first time in oh, two months, yesterday. It was HAARRDDDD. I used the same/sometimes less weight than I did the day before going into labor and it was so much harder. Dang it.
Good for you @hoosiermama-2! I really want to get back into exercise classes at the Y, but I'm still nervous about leaving LO at the drop of childcare. Let's be real, I'm also nervous about getting back into it.
I won a gift certificate to a stroller -including work out place called Fit4Mom. I'm looking forward to it but i know I'm going to have my butt handed to me.
I'm dying to get back in the gym. So jealous @hoosiermama-2!
How long after you stopped breastfeeding did your period come back? I know most of you guys are still breastfeeding but maybe someone knows. I'm three weeks from weaning and still no period. It's making me nervous....
@MrsMaryK2016 I'm jealous! Mine came back 4 months pp even though I was breastfeeding. I only got a month and a half free after pp bleeding. I can understand the wanting it back though, I had a friend who kept wanting hers to come back and it was a long wait for her!
@MrsMaryK2016 I'm on a birth control pill that also stops my period but it's only 70% effective or something foolish. Doctor said paired with breast feeding it should be alright. Id have zero idea if i was ovulating or pregnant so I get wanting to have it back. Though in my case you have to be sexually actively to get pregnant so... hahaha clearly baby has drastically changed our sex life.
@mrsmaryk2016 After a year of BF with ODD, I got my period just shy of 6 weeks later.
Is it awful that as I think about it, I haven't really had to deal with a period since the summer of 2013 and it feels great? Between pregnancies and breastfeeding I haven't had to deal with one in so long that I dread its return.
I'm totally not one to believe that things happen for a reason (when you have a parent with dementia, it's difficult to believe it) but today I'm kind of questioning. last night, someone posted in one of the local FB baby group that their kids go to the daycare we originally wanted to put A in and when they went to pick them up, the police were there. All the detective would say is that there had been an accident and they'd need to escort her kids out to her. Then they got a call at the 10 pm that the daycare would be shut "indefinitely." Im really curious as to what happened and really glad we decided not to move A from her current daycare when the spot became available a few weeks ago.

I've been going to my Group Kick class at the Y on and off since January. LO once in a while goes to the daycare place there and loves it and they lover her! In fact I went last night and my workout was great (it's been about 2 weeks since the last time I went) and LO had fun! I had been going to class throughout pregnancy and stopped in mid October. When I started back I went at my own slow, less intense pace. Some days I would cut out from class a bit early or cut out to go get a drink or go to the bathroom. I've slowly worked my way up but still am not at the level I was before pregnancy.
I'm surprised it didn't make the newspaper. In NY, the NY Post would have a "Tot hurt!" headline today. I guess the Baltimore Sun takes itself too seriously to do news like that. My husband's one reservation with the place was the playground outside. It used to be a school and they had a jungle gym out back that looked a little old and janky. He asked if we could write a note so A couldn't use the gym. The fact that it's closed "indefinitely" makes me think something really bad must have happened.
@m6agua It went downhill when I went back to work in late March. I've been playing soccer once or twice a week but it's obviously nothing like body pump. I'm kind of coming to a place where I just want to get my behind up up at 5 or so to go to a morning class... Love soccer but I really need lifting too. The only reason I went Monday was because I worked from home and got to see LO all day. And I'm not a good solo exerciser, so as much as I've thought about just doing some youtube videos at home.... nuh-uh! haha First world problems, I know.
@RhodaMorgenstern That is terrifying. So thankful y'all stuck with your current place!
I'm jealous of all of this talk of exercise classes. I've always loved going to them but it just isn't in the cards because of working and picking up B. FWP problems I know.
So I'm becoming super worried about daycare overfeeding LO. I looked up signs of overfeeding and there really aren't any because everything says LO will refuse food/milk. So I need some one to either talk me down or validate my worry... LO is 6 months tomorrow. He is at daycare from 7:15 - 4:00. While there he is drinking 20oz of BM and 3 - 4 tablespoons of puree. On the weekends I EBF so I have no idea how much he is drinking but he doesn't nurse often. Where I get concerned is that most days, when I pick him up he has this almost glazed over look in his eyes like he needs to sleep or is stuffed. He stops that gaze by the time we get home, or falls asleep in the car, but it's just so different than what I remember with ODD.
So am I overreacting or what? Daycare says he is expressing hunger and is, obviously, eating.

I love soccer! I miss it so much. We don't really know enough people to play . I keep wanting to cancel my gym membership to save on money because I don't get there too often, but I love my class when I do get a chance to go! Also I think we will be using the pool more this summer. I wish I could go to a class at 5 am, but they all run too long as I leave my house at 6:10 to get to work.
@SandNStarsNJ do you have a set schedule? Like "1 bottle every x hours"? If not, ask your pediatrician how often he should be having bottles and lay down the law. A is much smaller than your LO but she gets 15 oz per day and a pouch.

I think 20 oz isn't too bad at this age since the LO's are moving around a lot more. S is only 14 lbs and change and some days she'll want more than her normal 16 oz along with purees. He may just be tired when you are picking him up. S starts getting tired around that time also. How are his naps going at daycare? Maybe its more of an issue of not getting enough sleep.

Somedays he barely naps - like 3 30 minutes naps - so that could very well be possible. This makes me feel a little better. And thanks @RhodaMorgenstern - that helps too!
@SandNStarsNJ I would be worried too. I don't know how much M eats during the day because he's BF but he also eats a decent amount of purées. I know it would be a lot of work but maybe try pumping and feeding bottles on a weekend and see how much he is getting and happy with?
@SandNStarsNJ - E is 14 lbs and has been getting 21 oz plus food at daycare recently. She was at 16 and it wasn't enough so we bumped it up and they give her everything between 7:30 and 4:30. I don't think you need to worry.

My guy eats the same and is there for an extra 1 hour 15 min from yours. His last bottle is usually 4:30-5pm range. He rarely naps there (or just a few small cat naps) and always has that glazed over look in his eyes. I attribute it to the fact that he doesn't sleep much.
Do I think they sometimes overfeed him, yes, at first I started with 3 5oz bottles and then one emergency bottle but I found he was always given the emergency bottle so now it is just 4 bottles all the time. I figure that at home if he's having a super meltdown I will feed him early because sometimes that is all that works so if I see they gave him a bottle 1.5 hours after his last I assume it's the same.
@SandNStarsNJ I don't know much about it but I would say trust your mommy instincts. Maybe talk to your doctor and see if you can maybe observe at daycare for a day? Also like @kristah2 said, bite the bullet and try feeding over the weekend with bottles.
M is taking 5 6oz bottles in the same time frame at home with me so I think you're probably fine. If he's not sleeping well there then I bet that's what it is. M gets the same glassy eyed stare that you're describing when he doesn't nap.

That makes me feel better. I know our boys have followed similar growths so far too.
Alright friends, more advice needed (not baby related, at least not my baby.) My sister is due in late August, and I'm supposed to host her shower July 8th. The problem is I have literally no extra money to pay for anything (with me working only part time and at really low pay, it's really hard to make ends meet.) Even the time is a factor, I don't know how people get things done! I don't know what to do.
@desoky01 - be honest with her. Let her know you are really excited and want to celebrate her and your future neice/nephew, but you're worried about budget and time. Ask if she has any friends who would be willing to cohost or maybe other family can help. I recommend you make it potluck to save money on food.
@desoky1 do you belong to any local moms groups? People are always advertising free decorations on mine. And free diapers so you can make your own diaper cake. Any friends of your sister's helping out (maybe your mom)? You can see if they can help with food and maybe you can make a quick, cheap dip in the slow cooker as your contribution? Either way, in sorry, it sounds rough.
Agree have a Convo with your sister to set expectations and if someone can cohost that would be good. I think showers are over the top nowadays and you can definitely have a nice one on a budget. If you know any of her good friends maybe the would be willing to contribute some food or something

We had baptism class last night and on the way there LO pooped big time. No... I mean BIG time. It got on DH's sleeve. Her onesie and pants were coooovered. AHHHH! It was insane. DH actually texted me to come help him in the men's restroom. Of course, in the middle of her crying and us trying to get this decimated onesie off, another guy walks in and looks irritated. Sorry!
And of course again, I'd only packed another onesie and no pants... so we roll into class with a baby in a onesie and all the other babies are dressed for the slightly chilly, rainy weather.
Aaaaand DH's parents watched her yesterday and they're bad about her naps, so she was so overtired and babbled and babbled the entire time, haha. I eventually put a blanket on the floor and just sat down there with her and let her play.
She did really enjoy being around the other LOs, though, which was awesome.
@hoosiermama-2 I swear the last 3 times I needed to go somewhere LO had blowouts (2 of them this last weekend)! I think it might be something about the carseat that just pushes it out the sides of the diaper no matter what.
First was a bridal shower, I had her in a cute dress with pants because it was chilly. I am thankful I took her 6 month photos before I left. When I got there I picked her up and I felt wetness. I went to change her and it was a blowout, onesie and pants not salvageable. The dress had a tiny amount on it so I wiped it off and put it back on her. However I wasn't prepared for it so I had to walk back to the shower with a naked baby to get another onesie and then go back to change her. The bathroom did not have a changing table. All it had was one of those old roll top writing desks with a sink in it. So that was fun.
Then two days later I was headed to a funeral. I got there and it was another blowout. This one wasn't quite as bad. But they also didn't have a changing table just a little vanity desk thing. Once again her pants were a little wet, but I was able to salvage them. But the long sleeve onesie was toast. I thought I had another long-sleeve but I only had a sleeveless. At least it was in doors and I was wearing her so she stayed warm.
Not sure if this is the right spot to post this, but I'm letting this whole milestone thing get to me and I'm concerned my LO isn't doing what he is "supposed to" be doing by now. He's not quite 6 months (will be on June 2) but he can't sit unassisted for more than a couple seconds. Also, he's been rolling belly to back consistently for a while now (he hates tummy time so as soon as he's on his tummy he just rolls over). But he's only rolled back to belly maybe 4 times and freaks out as soon as he does it. So he definitely not "rolling all over the place" or moving around like I've read about other babies. He is content just laying in one spot on his back playing with a toy. Should I be concerned? I'll talk to his dr about it at his 6 month appt but just thought I'd ask here too!
@ALBONNET1218 I've read that it's normal for some babies to be a little "behind" with some milestones and as long as they come within a certain time period it's all good. I believe for sitting unassisted it was 9 months. As for rolling he can obviously do it! Just chooses not too. Let him lay there eventually he will decide to roll. Again it's not a huge rush. I think that one was also okay as long as he has it by 9 months.
