The lady at the grocery store yesterday. It was 4:40 on a Monday afternoon, so the place was PACKED. DD needed a nap, and was getting close to a meltdown, so I quickly threw the last item into my cart, and rushed to the front...where the lines were insanely long. I finally got to the front, loaded my groceries onto the belt, and whipped out my debit card. Meanwhile, DD's whines are starting to escalate to crying. THEN, this twatwaffle steps in front of me, waves her receipt in the cashier's face, and informs her that she charged her for yellow onions instead of green onions. Are you freaking kidding me?!? So, I then had to wait another five minutes, bouncing a crying toddler on my hip, while the lady was refunded her...wait for it...$1.43. Really? All of that for one dollar and forty-three freaking cents? I tell you what, if looks could kill.
If she had any concept of basic human consideration, @gusgus14, that's what she should have done! However, I think she lacked that trait, as evidenced by the fact that she had no qualms stepping in front of like six people, including the lady with the crying toddler, to get her exorbitant refund back. I'm still fuming about it, if you couldn't tell.
@cyanope I cannot for the life of me imagine reading a receipt so closely that I noticed that. TW is me for having no plan for lunch today here at 11:40. Going for a run and then have ~15 minutes to decide what to eat...
@KatieEl that happened to me with DD-I went to the front desk and they told me it would be just a few more minutes..another half hour later and they still hadn't called my name. I hope you weren't waiting too long after you posted!
@cyanope NOPE. That is ridiculous! Some people. I'm with @miranda21037, I totally would've give her the refund in pennies.
My TW... the homeowners association. I JUST moved into my new home and three weeks later these horrendous speed bumps are placed all along the street by a "unanimous" vote.
Not "make the car slow down" speed bumps. They are "make the car virtually come to a stop and still your head is jarred going over them" speed bumps. Combine that with my horrible tender boobs this past week I have to mentally prepare myself going down my own street now and hold my boobies. I want to find the members that voted yes on this and punch them straight in the titties!
@KatieEl, the ob I sae for 1 and 2 was awful. Your appointment time could be the first slot in the am and you still wouldnt be seen for 1.5 hours. And they required nsts for the whole third tri for vbacs. The midwife for number three was super fast but we moved back home so im trying a new practice. When I called to make my appointment I asked for the quickest time possible because my three other tiny humans would either be there with me or Id be paying someone to watch them. I may turn into a raging lunatic if I have to wait well beyond my appointment time with my 5,4, and 1 year olds.
My mom has zero concept of basic economic principles. She just moved into her own place. She got a flyer in the mail for a $50 gift card with a certain cable company and a mid level package. She calls to set up mew service and tells them she wants the basic level package and asks if that qualifies for the gift card. Associate says "if its listed on the flyer it does" and explains that promotions are based on location and she just works in a centralized call center and promotion fulfillment is handled by another department. My mom is upset that she didnt get the gift card that she didnt qualify for. Not because she was led to believe that she would, but had she known, she would have paid an extra $20/mo (for 24 months) for the qualifying package. She doesnr understand that she would have then paid an extra $480 to receive $50 gift card. Im losing my mind explaining this to her.
Today's TW is DH. He just went to bed early, because he's "tired". I'm sitting here on the couch folding HIS laundry. He also had the audacity to bring me DS' monitor because he's coughing. He has asthma and allergies, he's ALWAYS coughing. I'm beat but my work isn't done, so I can't go to bed yet. Jerk.
So my clumsiness is my own TW today. It got the better of me and I sprained my ankle really bad. I can barely walk and am beyond uncomfortable. DH works on the road and won't be home until Friday, so in the meantime I get to hobble around and make due by myself. I guess next time I should watch where I'm stepping.
