  • EmilyLove25 not too much at all, thanks!  I got them 3 years ago when we decided we were done having kids (DH has 2, I have 1)  BFing DS made them look like inverted pancakes, hopefully I won't have any issues with BFing this one because of them.

I agree with, @missblaze. I haven't joined in on the bloat pics, but I like seeing people. It helps put a name to a face! I know some people are leery of putting their photos on the Bump (or any internet platform for that matter), but I'm just naively going to say I don't see the issue. I'm blissful in my ignorance of the dangers.
  • @hunt_adventure_society Oh No! Im freaked out now. I have a short torso, Im mostly legs, Im only 5'2" and a lot of times average length jeans are too short for me. What if there isnt enough room in my torso?!?!?!?! Oh geeze, now I'm measuring myself, when sitting down, from the top of my thigh to the underwire of my bra is 7 inches! What baby can fit in 7 inches?????

@miranda21037 I have a very similar body type to you. 5'4 barely with long legs and a short torso. I'm also pretty petite to begin with so hopefully I don't look ridiculously huge or weird once I have a big belly!

  • @cyanope, @missblaze I almost totally posted one with my face and then had the thought if someone I knew somehow found it, ha! I know I should be more security conscious but really I'm more concerned with keeping the secret, hehe! Once we announce it to the world you gals are going to see my face so often you'll get sick of it.
  • @miranda21037 I have an extremely short torso at 5'3" as well.  I think the baby will just stick out the front more and your pelvis will widen as well.  Of course my LO came just over three weeks early and kicked a hole in the top of the bag, so maybe there wasn't enough room??? He was only 4lbs 10oz...
  • @egirl1025 kicked a hole in the top of the bag? FTM here so Im pretty confused lol, and now more worried, I dont want to stick out further, how will I reach the pedals in my car? I mean, Id be happy if I had baby a little early, tax deduction for me :)

  • @miranda21037 I'm 5'3" with a short torso too and DS was born at 41 weeks and weighed 7 lbs 9 oz and was 21.5 inches long. Not sure how he fit, but he made it work! I wouldn't worry too much, your body is capable of crazy things.

    Stuck in Box!

Sorry to worry you more!  I must have some leftover anxiety from my first LO.  My overall point is, your body does amazing things and I really had no issues with reaching the pedals, although it was something I worried about the first time as well.
  • @sbishop426 I feel the same way only I am avoiding pants entirely. Anything on the belly increases my nausea.

Got some bloat happening! I'm the opposite of some of you ladies- 5'11 and a long torso + a FTM so it will take me a long time to look like anything besides eating too many burritos.  :)

  • @rachelg777 - tall girls unite! 5'10 here. Not ready to post a picture of my bloat just yet  :D

@rachelg777, I'm 5'10" and didn't show until around 24 weeks. Sorry to confirm your prediction! I just wanted everyone to notice my belly, and it didn't happen until super late. But, if it makes you feel any better, I POPPED at the end, and was very un-mistakenly pregnant for the last 12 weeks.
  • @cyanope, I had a feeling!  My identical twin just had a baby in January (first one) so I know almost exactly what I will look like throughout my pregnancy  :D. Granted she only gained 24 lb's and I'm not sure that will be the case for me!
  • @rachelg777 5'10" here too and I didn't really visibly show to others until maybe 20 weeks.
  • @rachelg777 woohoo 5"11 here as well :) with my DS I started showing at 18 weeks.  But toward the end of the pregnancy my stomach popped I was really big lol loved my belly. DS was 9 lb 15 oz when he was born that's probably why I had the big belly ;)
  • I'm not all that tall (5'6") but considered "obese". I remember at 25-26 weeks with DS one of DHs aunts came up to me and said, "You don't even look pregnant!" I suppose it was intended as a compliment, but it sure felt like a "you just look REALLY fat" comment. I sure as hell felt pregnant! (And I'm 90% sure that was my response.)

  • Anyone have tattoos on/near the belly? I do annnd now I'm thinking back to my 20s when I got them and said "I'm not having kids so it doesn't matter" lol! Shoot man! luckily they are on my sides more than front of belly but it'll be interesting to see the progression as I get round.
  • @Baby_is_coming Oh bummer! I don't have any tattoos, but my belly button is pierced and I don't really know what to do with that...
  • @Baby_is_coming  I have one on my ribs. But its on my side, up high so I'm hoping it won't get too bad

  • Probably this is mostly leftover baby weight from my first plus the burrito I had for lunch but... Happy 4 weeks!

@caeilievalor I had/have my belly button pierced too, but took it out a couple months ago. Thinking it'll probably close up between now and January...
  • @caeilievalor mine is pierced too, and ive been thinking about it on and off....do I leave it in until it just comes out on its own...or just suck it up and take it out.
  • @Baby_is_coming I have one at the very bottom if my rib cage. Hoping it's not affected!!
  • I have a belly button ring too. Have had it for 13 years so probably no way it has a chance of closing lol oh well!
  • @scatteringashes Plus size mommy with a sizeable B belly. I took less than 10 photos of my bump last time because I never felt like I showed. I regret it so much. I'm planning to take them this time even if I don't show until 30 weeks.
  • @thedawkterswife Good -- I'm glad not to be in that boat alone! I looked pregnant by 37 weeks (I hunted down the old picture, lol), but I never really had that iconic bump that a lot of smaller people tend to get. The B is just how my body is shaped. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm really curious to see if it'll be different in a second pregnancy since tales say that we tend to show more the second time around, but I'm more chill about it now. At 22, though, I was pretty devastated not to have that more noticable pregnant belly.

The bloat is so real. I couldn't move my wedding rings on my finger yesterday.

I woke up and my feet and fingers were so bloated! Felt like I ate all the salty food and drank too much!

  • A little bloat, Ive noticed Im starting to grow some butt though, which is nice :) I dont know if this has to do with baby or the fact im getting lazy from being tired all the time
