i can't be th only one with confessions to make. Let's hear them!

I'm really mad at dh, and I have no desire to apologize this time. It seems small, but I'm just done.

i took ds to school this morning, but Nadia has been falling asleep when I take him each day, which means she will entirely skip her morning nap. So I asked dh, who is off work today and doing nothing, to stay home with her, and if she got tired out her in her crib. I need to make cookies for my sons class before 2, and was hoping to do it while she napped. I came home to dh asleep on the sofa, with Nadia snoozing on his chest. She sat bolt upright wide awake, and refused to nap for me. She got maybe 10 minutes, so now she's grumpy and I'm struggling to get anything done.

when I told dh how it really upset me that he couldn't do that one thing for me, and how much harder my morning would be now, he replied with "how is that different than any other day when I'm at work. I did my best, I can't help it if I fell asleep." Then he accused me of always telling him he's doing things wrong, which isn't true, but this time it was, because he said he'd help!

And an extra confession, I'm almost regretting getting him an anniversary gift for our anniversary on Sunday. (I'm sure I'll repent of this all before Sunday, but I'm super annoyed)

The worst. I mean, you asked for one simple thing, 'hey, if the baby is asleep, make sure she stays asleep and is safe'. I would hardly even consider it helping you out as this is his kid too. You gotta pull your weight, son.

My FFFC: I scheduled first birthday photos for Miles directly after telling DH I was still thinking about it. He's not happy with the money and doesn't really feel it's necessary, but by goodness I didn't do newborn photos and now I kind of regret it, and I want my family photos. Also, I guess a second FFFC is that I complained to my father about the lack of family photos that I have and that's why I scheduled the session and he reminded me that, duh, he has been a professional photographer (newspaper) and is currently between jobs so he has plenty of time. Whoops, sorry Dad

@art+lea2013 I want to do photos as well since we skipped the newborn session too. Money is also an issue for us but I'm hoping my husband will get on board with it nonetheless.

My FFFC: While I miss my husband when he is away on business, I find everything runs a little bit smoother when he isn't around. Sometimes it's just easier knowing I can just do what I need to do, how I want to do it, and move on to the next thing. That said, I do love having him around too. I like knowing & feeling that we're in this together and that we're a team. I guess the break from time to time is nice though.

I feel you on the running smoother piece. DH took a vaca with his dad back in March and it was nice knowing that I could clean the house to my level of cleanliness early in the week and not have to worry about doing it over and over because I don't have to keep coming behind him and scooping up his mess. Plus, not having to double check any daily decisions with him, like dinner or activities, just allowed Miles and I to flow.

But, I also agree that wishes are for fishes, and having him home was better than having a clean house at the end of the week. And since I apparently can't have both

DH just got back from a "work trip" where they worked a bit and then all got wasted every other night. He fell asleep on the couch when he got home and then complained about how tired he was because he didn't go to bed until 5am. I'm definitely holding onto some resentment about it and had zero sympathy. I'm trying to get over it, but it's difficult when he doesn't realize just how much he left me to deal with for almost 2 weeks while he partied with his friends every night.

I would be mad too! If I were you I would take some "you time" this weekend.

My FFFC is that my habit of not shaving my legs during the week, to save time, is not working for me today when I'm working from home in warm weather with a skirt & flip flops... and yet I still haven't showered oops haha

Prob more of a rant than a FFFC- I am going to my friend's wedding in Paris next week and am a bridesmaid. This is a huge inconvenience, expense and has been causing me a lot of anxiety due to leaving Savannah, etc.

The bride isn't paying for any of us to get our hair and makeup done for the wedding, so I'm not doing it! (I'd much rather spend the money on 1 year photos of Sav).

I just found out that she put a bid on a 2.5 MILLION DOLLAR house! And she can't pay for hair & makeup? Seriously!!

I guess the FFFC is that I am bitter about this wedding and have zero interest in going.

Wow.... I kind of thought that was standard. I'm certainly not made of money, like she clearly is, and I paid for my 6 bridesmaids hair and make up to be done.

When I got married almost 3 years ago I paid for all 7 of my girls and my mom, I was making about 50k a year. It was an entire paycheck, but I really felt it was my responsibility because they traveled a couple hours for my wedding and spent two nights in a hotel.

It's amazing how stressful being in a wedding can be. My friend was MOH in one and it was so traumatizing she just had her mom throw her shower, went out with friends low key for bachelorette party and her sister stand as her MOH at the alter when she got married. She wanted absolutely zero drama.

I just told my daughters I was going to vacuum so they would go play in their room. I am not going to vacuum, other cleaning tasks yes, but no vacuuming. I win because now they are out of the way.

Stuff like this always makes me so thankful I didn't have a big wedding. I don't like conflict or being in the spotlight, so our little backyard wedding was all I wanted.

The best part is that in my limited sample, it seems like the brides with the highest expectations of their friends and bridal party are never fully available when it's their turn to be in someone else's wedding, after they are married with kids.

And when they back out of events and I gently remind them of all their friend did for their wedding, they'll say, "yeah but it was different then, she was single without kids."

We got married a few years after the big wave of weddings, and I told my husband the only people that really want to be in a wedding at this point are kids, haha. So we had a best man, maid of honor (I had been hers), 4 flower girls and a ring bearer (and we paid for the kids' clothes).

I don't know anyone who had a more enthusiastic bridal party ; ) The flower girls were in line, at attention waiting for me at every turn, like it was the most important day of their lives ; )

I'm with you! My husband and I were planning a vacation to Costa Rica and decided to throw an elopement into the vacation plans. It was amazing, no regrets! Just the 2 of us, an officiant that we kinda understood, a couple of hotel staff as witnesses, and the beauty of the rainforest (and a friggin' volcano) as our backdrop. Our families were really supportive of our decision and our friends all said they weren't surprised that we wanted to go that route.

Ok here is a wedding themed FFFC that is probably more UO. I hate dancing like really, really, really hate it! I could probably live in footloose vile and fit in great. I chose to not have a dance floor at my wedding because I didn't want to be forced into dancing and people were pissed, mainly my MOH. Sorry not sorry! I hate feeling like a fool!

@vintagevix2016 we eloped too! We got married in front of a judge and then went to Europe for two weeks. Everyone expected us to come back from that trip engaged.

I had a friend that did that, but she also had a 6 pm Friday night wedding. No time for dancing, she said, get in, get married, get food, go home.

I went to one wedding right after I graduated college that included about two tables of college students/recent college grads and then 20 tables of middle age to elderly adults. Our tables were just sitting around chatting for awhile because it was mid-summer and we hadn't seen each other for a couple of months when we got bombarded by a nervous looking groom because the bride was upset that no one was dancing and we, as the young crowd, needed to get up and participate. It was super annoying and after that I promised myself that even if we had a dance floor (we did, very small) I would never make someone dance that didn't want to.
