    Why are you high-risk?
My baby has some sort of urinary tract issue going on, but the official diagnosis keeps changing.

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
I will have my weekly ultrasound this Friday morning.

    Any concerns/news currently?
at my last few ultrasounds, they have been seeing something new. They think he may have a patent urachus. The baby's bladder and kidneys are looking improved, and his amniotic fluid level is still normal. The patent urachus is a problem, but it is an easy one to fix without any long term complications AND it seems to be making the bigger urinary tract issue less of a threat! I'll take that! :)

Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now? Just that God will keep on doing what he is to heal this baby. And give him praise for what he has done so far. I am very thankful!

    GTKY: Cake or Brownies?
Brownies during PMS, cake the rest of the time!

  • Well I'm back for the long haul now

    How far along are you?

    24 weeks

    Why are you high-risk?
Chronic spotting with an unidentifiable reason and increased risk of preterm labor

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
i am currently waiting on the OB specialist to contact me to set up an appointment.

    Any concerns/news currently?
Ugh seriously y'all I'm freaking out, this pregnancy has been one thing after another and I'm just about to crack. Do any of you have any tips for maintaining sanity with all this stress? Please I'm getting desperate.

Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now?
My baby, my sanity, some magic finances to help us though me not working. thank you :)

    GTKY: Cake or Brownies?
cake always, I love cake lol I'm going to have to have hubby run to the store today and get me a cup cake now :)
  • @Rhubarb7216 spotting is so scary, I'm so happy to hear you made it a week though!

Why are you high-risk? short cervix

Any additional monitoring or testing this week? I actually ended up spending Monday night in the hospital for observation because I started having regular contractions on Sunday evening, which didn't initially stop with medication. Baby is looking great, and very healthy, and I'm doing ok now too. A swab for a protein that indicates labor came back negative, my cervix hasn't shortened any, and it remains high and closed. After 48 hours on nifedipine, my contractions finally stoped. I see my doctor again next Wednesday for a follow up. I'm thankful the baby is looking healthy, and that none of this stress seemed to affect him at all, but I really need my uterus to cooperate now! I'll officially be 24 weeks in Sunday, which can't come soon enough, thought my doctor said he will rest easier once I hit 28 weeks as the survival rate after 28 weeks goes up to nearly 95%
    Any concerns/news currently?
    see above. :)

Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now?
Praymy cervix doesn't shorten, and remains strongly shut. Pray I can carry this baby as long as possible, and that he remains healthy. Pray my doctors and nurses have a lot of wisdom on how to treat my pregnancy going foreword.

    GTKY: Cake or Brownies?
Oooooo, tough one! Probably a nice, hot, gooey brownie. Although I wouldn't say no to cake either!

    Why are you high-risk?

    I carry an antibody
Any additional monitoring or testing this week?

Nothing this week.  Just a routine midwife appointment and blood draw at the end of this month.

    Any concerns/news currently?

Vacation was awesome last week but now that we have returned home my eczema is really flaring up on my hands.  It is almost all day itching and burning on every part of my hand.  I can't take it anymore :(

Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now?

That my eczema magically clears up.

    GTKY: Cake or Brownies?

    Brownies!
  • @stephy_p That's great news that the diagnosis is changing to something without longterm complications!!!

@Rhubarb7216 That's great you have no spotting! Keep it up cervix!

@Breath_Easy92 I'm so sorry there are so many things affecting your pregnancy and stressing you out :( Praying for a healthy baby and a money tree to grow right next to your couch :)

@mrs_tacos I'm so sorry you had a scare with preterm labor! I'm really glad baby is looking great. You're doing a great job researching how to care if baby arrives a tad early. I go for brownies too.. just give baby the brownie and maybe he'll stay put so he doesn't have to come out and get one :p

@JustBored10 The eczema sounds horrible! I have no experience with it.. I'm sorry I can't offer any suggestions. + for the brownie though :)

Why are you high-risk? Type 1 DM, MTHFR

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
No, but I think I need to send in my blood sugar sensor readings to the doctor. Some shit is happening overnight that is blowing my mind.

    Any concerns/news currently?
Around 1 am, so well after dinner my blood sugar sky rockets to about 250. It seems to take a little extra insulin than normal to get it to come down, which leads me to believe it's rising because there's not enough insulin at that point in the night anymore and creating some kind of possible ketone production (I never tested.. I should). This is messing up my beautiful A1c!!! The placenta is up to no good.

I have another struggle. With the higher blood sugars, I have noticed I actually lost a pound. This whole weight gain with no end is really hard on me mentally.. and seeing that number come down is an evil tease. I know I have to keep my blood sugars in range. But I hate that I even have the thought of letting it run higher at times when I "don't think it will affect baby in the long run". Don't tell my doctor! They'll kill me! I'm going to get it under control, because healthy baby. But man. That scale.

Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now?
That my blood sugars stay manageable and we can easily correct this overnight thing to keep baby healthy and my A1c pretty.

    GTKY: Cake or Brownies?
Brownies!!!!! Every Wednesday at work, we have a sweet little old lady come volunteer, and she always brings two trays of homemade brownies. They are DELICIOUS and not good for my blood sugar or weight.

  • @mrs_tacos thank you I'm sorry you're going through all this too. I really should start researching things more but I've found I kind of go into a rabbit hole when I start googling especially research journals so I've been trying to stay away from that. I'm just afraid of falling in my anxiety deeper.  but what apps do you use? That seems like a good way to pass time too. I really enjoyed it once when a teacher show us a guided mediatation back when I was in school.

@Breath_Easy92 I am sorry you are stressed. I had a really rough pregnancy last time with anxiety. Like @mrs_tacos I have also been seeing a counselor through this pregnancy to try and help cope with my anxious feeings. Per her suggestion, I downloaded an app called Calm for meditation and it had been great. I have also had success with distraction. When my mind starts racing with thoughts I try to focus on doing silly words games or would you rather scenarios. I also look at inspirational quotes online.

    Why are you high-risk? HBP

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
None this week, still just taking my BP daily.

    Any concerns/news currently?
I have noticed some spikes with my BP lately that I do not like, but I am hoping they are due to work stress.

Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now?
That my blood pressure remains stable.

    GTKY: Cake or Brownies?
Brownies and cake! Yellow cake with chocolate frosting trumps brownies for me. Brownies over all other cake though.

Eta: The app is called Calm not Cope!
  • @baileylove22 i am downloading the app right now! Also I think the distraction thing is a good idea, might also kill some time. Maybe I can get a coloring book or something.
  • @mrs_tacos sorry to hear about the contractions and hospital stay. That is really scary! @Breath_Easy92 and @mrs_tacos have you seen the website https://www.keepemcookin.com? It's devoted to preventing preterm labor. They have a variety of information, as well as an online forum.
  • @Sugargirl1019 good luck figuring out the blood sugar mystery!
  • @Sugargirl1019 good luck figuring out the blood sugar mystery!
Thanks. I sent over my sensor info and numbers and talked to the doctor today and they made a few adjustments. Hopefully it's enough.

@Rhubarb7216  Yay for no spotting for a week!

    @mrs_tacos
FX your LO stays put for a while yet!

@Sugargirl1019   Hopefully they get everything figured out with the blood sugar readings!

    How far along are you?

    Why are you high-risk?
Insulin resistant, multiple MCs, bicornuate uterus

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
Not this week. Just had my appointment today. Everything was perfect and measuring right where it should. This week starts our biweekly appointments. I can't believe we are already so close to the end that we go in every two weeks now! Time is flying!

    Any concerns/news currently?
Not much going on here. I had some issues with cramping / having contractions for a couple hours yesterday, but everything is doing fine. The doctor just says to take it easy and avoid strenuous activity.

    GTKY: Cake or Brownies?
Brownies all the way! I am not much of a cake person. I love to bake them and make all sorts of cool cakes. I just don't enjoy eating them. Too sweet for my taste.

Why are you high-risk? Postpartum stroke with first DD and gestational diabetes (insulin controlled)

Any additional monitoring or testing this week? Just 2 doctor appointments. I have an ultrasound next week. I'll have more blood work in the next few weeks and she said I'll have a consult with anesthesia around 34 weeks so everyone is on the same page with my history and plan for my csection. Looks like my csection will be scheduled for August 28th

Any concerns/news currently? Nothing really. I have a low placenta but they don't seem concerned. My fasting glucose number has been out of range for over a month so they increased my insulin by quite a bit and today I got my first in range fasting number in forever.

Anything I can pray for you specifically about right now?

GTKY: Cake or Brownies? Cake. I want cake so bad.
