There's a Greek Festival right outside my place of employment and I am SO DOWN to get some lunch over there. I'm dreaming about spanakopita, Greek salad, baklava, souvlaki....
ETA: It sounds so good now. Let's hope my tummy allows it...
@missblaze - I forgot about the Greek festival! I've lived here for almost 10 years and I've never been. I think we're going to try to go at some point.
I have been all about banana sandwiches. I had FOUR last night after having little to no appetite for the last week and a half.
I'm eating so much junk! So far today I had dry cereal, granola bar, cheez it snack mix and skittles. Healthy foods are just not appetizing at the moment!
DD1: 2/28/12 DD2: 9/12/13 Baby #3: Due January 2018
I haven't had any morning sickness yet but I almost started gagging as I was telling someone what I brought for lunch today so I have a feeling it's getting ready to hit. I might need to figure out a different lunch plan
@PhillymommaX2 - all I want is junk, too! Nothing healthy sounds appealing. I've eaten way too much mac and cheese and Chick fil A.
I've never been a person who "had" to have breakfast, but I've never had an issue eating it.....until now. The only thing my stomach will accept in the morning is a (decaf)carmel latte, so yay for milk and calcium....but I'm pretty sure the massive amount of sugar in there is not great..... Today I tried to eat a banana and my stomach is still giving me the middle finger.
Food has just not sounded all that great for the last 3.5 weeks, so I'm just trying to make sure I'm eating things that are at least kind of healthy when I can.....
I've been struggling to eat my norms...chicken and veggies. The same thing happened during my last pregnancy so I'm not surprised. The only thing I was able to eat for lunch yesterday was pretzels with hummus and a handful of cherries. So, not too bad...but definitely not filling enough. I'm struggling with the, "I'm so freaking hungry," but, "nothing sounds good" dilemma. If I don't eat, my nausea increases, but I don't want to eat ANYTHING. I texted DH yesterday afternoon that the only thing that sounded appetizing was a Chipotle burrito. So, we had Chipotle for dinner last night. At least I'm still able to drink my morning green smoothie...I'm getting lots of greens down, because it is SO not going to happen any other way.
Cheese, I want everything with cheese! I work for a catering company maybe once or twice a month during the spring to fall. We have cheese fries. Normally I eat 10 boats of cheese fries or pulled pork covered in cheese and jalepenos. My boss lady text me what time to show up on Sunday. I said "I'll be there, bring on the cheese!" I dont even know why she pays me, I eat more than I should be paid anyway.

Lord, I can't go without cheese...watch that be the ONE thing I can't stomach. I'll curl up for the rest and just bawl. Now I want pulled pork.. I'm getting it Saturday. Why not today?!
I figure this goes here: I am having such a hard time with food! So many food aversions (I literally do not want ice cream--unheard of in my lifetime) and my cravings are fleeting. I threw up ~9:45 AM and cannot eat since then. So I am eating... nothing and hating it.
@cyanope I'm also having issues with breakfast. I've always had a bagel or a bowl of cereal in the morning, but now I can barely get it down. If I wait until 10:00ish and have my small cup of coffee, I finally start feeling better. Mornings are not pleasant!
I'm so excited for chicken enchilada chili tonight. I'm about to throw everything in the crockpot and it smells so good. I've been waiting for this all week!!
I've been having some food aversions lately, and randomly cravings as well. I was packing a salad daily for lunch (for about a month or so) and now I can't even stand the idea of eating a salad (so much for being healthy)! As for cravings, usually it is in the form of something sweet. I am obsessed with smoothies lately.
@rachelg777, It has: 1 handful, heaping of spinach 1 handful of kale (you can omit this one if you need your smoothies to be sweet, because kale tends to make it a bit bitter) 1 banana 1 cup of almond milk 1 tablespoon of almond butter 1 dash of cinnamon 1 cup of ice I double the recipe (for DH and me), and put it all (minus the ice) in the blender the night before and stick it in the fridge. Then, in the morning, I add the ice, blend it up, and take it with me for my drive to work. It keeps me full until my morning snack! Just as a heads up, it is definitely not a super "sweet" smoothie, since it doesn't have anything sugary in it, but DH and I like it!
@cyanope thanks!! Always looking for good smoothie recipes. I do a daily one too. That sounds very similar to mine- I use Greek yogurt which tends to make it a bit sweeter but also adds some calories. I will have to try adding kale and see if I like it! I used to do frozen broccoli in place of ice and it was actually really nice.
I haven't had any nausea so eating isn't tough for me yet, thank goodness. (Still so early) But I usually have a tiny, tiny appetite, and lately I'm RAVENOUS. Last night I got an intense desire for friend chicken, so I made a whole southern fried chicken dinner from scratch and it was incredible, and I gorged myself on the chicken especially!

Crispy English muffins...YUM! Grilled cheese, bananas, strawberries and blueberries. Blueberries mostly because I was shopping and remembered that's about how big baby is so I had to buy some! Making chicken fajitas tonight, hoping the spicy isn't too rough on my stomach but they sound good!
Trisciuts all morning to stave off nausea but now I'm sad because I didn't save anything from my lunch for an afternoon snack. I really want chips and salsa...
@cyanope@rachelg777 I make green smoothies too (spinach/kale, almond milk, berries, protein powder), but i wanted to add two things: 1) Shredded zucchini works in there amazingly well, and I always use it a ton in the summer when it's cheap and my gardener friends are overflowing with them. and 2) You can prep the greens/berries in advance in freezer bags and freeze them, so I usually prepare a whole months worth at a time. Makes the mornings so easy!
I've never heard of frozen broccoli before, I'm going to have to try that!

I was supposed to go to this really fun foodie event at the zoo tonight (Zoofari at the National Zoo) and tickets were EXPENSIVE but I feel so awful I'm not sure I'm going to make it. Ugh. I'm a drag lately.
I'm having a hard time with the food situation. Serious food aversions with my usual cuisine (veggies). I had an Arby's roast beef sandwich tonight with au jus on the side and it was soooo good! I'm loving the salt right now. Also, can't remember the last time I had Arby's but I just couldn't stand the thought of cooking.
@cyanope hummus sounds pretty good! I could go for some warm pita and labneh dip. Mmmm kind of craving Mediterranean food in general.

@gusgus14 I was gagging last night when talking to DH about what to make for dinner. It's so weird that just words can trigger that.
@PhillyMomma87 I craved so much junk food last pregnancy, like stuff I wouldn't normally eat. My go to was hotdogs and funyuns
@missblaze that sounds so good! I might have to order greek food for lunch now!
