How big is baby? Pumpkin
Any appointments this week? Had one today. Got a sweep and hoping baby drops this week.
Symptoms? Pelvic pain when I over do it I get the sciatica pain on my left backside
Rants/Raves/Questions? Excited for baby but the waiting game is slow and boring. Hoping she comes this week so DH can get the most out of his "vacation" time off.
Progress made or plans for baby preparation? 70% effaced, 1cm dilated. No symptoms such as cramping or contractions
GTKY: Taking from the overdue thread, was your pregnancy like your moms? How were they similar/different? I was very sick and have pelvic pain. She only peed all the time. Not sure yet on delivery, my mom had my brother on her due date and had a 5 hour labor that started that morning. My mom went 2 days early with me, had a 3 hour labor and started again in the morning. Hoping I get that lucky with an easy labor and delivery.
Any medical appointments/updates for baby or mom this week? Pediatrician yesterday - great report!
Questions, concerns, updates, etc. concerning sleeping or other symptoms for both baby & mom? I have one spot on my incision where I get a twinge every now and then. Last time around I think I had about 12 steri-strips, but this time I think I have like 40! I'm sure they're holding me together well, but it makes it hard to see what's going on.
Rants/raves/questions? Rant: My fears have been realized and I am not able to do much for DS (18 months). We have tried bedtime where I do EVERYTHING except put him in the bed. I hand him to DH to lower him in and then I rub his back, and he goes to pieces and cries for mama. He KNOWS that's not our routine! I put him in bed once - two nights ago - and it was a MISTAKE! My belly hurt more than it has since my surgery. It's just hard when it makes him so sad.
GTKY: Taking from the overdue thread, was your pregnancy like your moms? How were they similar/different? I was adopted, and I don't know a whole lot about my birth mom's pregnancy. She was 14, I think, and hid it from her parents because she was scared they would make her terminate it.
@SWE2 - How was the sweep? I hope it gets things moving for you!

My mom has been absent during my pregnancy which is fine because she only cares about what's going on in her life and she will be the 1st one acting like she's been here for me the whole time. So, i really havent had a chance to ask her questions. Anyways, I can say our pregnancies were different because my mom was pregnant with twins and I know she was put on bed rest.
How big is baby? A watermelon
Any appointments this week? Saw the midwife today. Dilated to 2cm, which is only slightly better than last week but she said he's dropped quite a bit.
Symptoms? Major cramping and lower back pain since my sweep this morning. I'm cautiously optimistic that it's the beginnings of labour but I'm not holding my breath. I'm not that lucky.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Nope! Just excited for things to get moving.
Progress made or plans for baby preparation? I bought a Moby wrap and some more snacks for my BF baskets today, and I think that's the last of what I wanted to pick up before the little guy comes!
GTKY: Taking from the overdue thread, was your pregnancy like your moms? How were they similar/different? My mom had really easy pregnancies and deliveries with all 3 of us, and we were all born before 39 weeks. She's shocked I'm still pregnant.

Questions, concerns, updates, etc. concerning feeding/weight gain? He dropped weight the first few days after birth like every other newborn and his bili levels rised just a bit because 1. He is more susceptible to it being part Asian and male, 2. We were waiting for my milk to come in and I didn't want to start supplementing until after our 2 day appointment to see how he was really doing. But after that appointment, we supplemented for a few days and now I'm pumping enough that his intake is only breast milk at this point. We can already see improvement with his jaundice, which wasn't that bad to begin with.
Questions, concerns, updates, etc. concerning sleeping or other symptoms for both baby & mom? I'm a normally small busted gal, and now that the baby is on the outside, you'd think I can sleep whichever way/position I'd eant, but these milk-filled boobs get in the way! Lol.

GTKY: Taking from the overdue thread, was your pregnancy like your moms? How were they similar/different? This last pregnancy was like my mom's last two, fast and right to the point. We both worked right up until the event. Well with this one, I took a week off. With my first, I went into labor the morning of my last day of work. I still can't believe how opposing my two experiences have been. #1: 23 hours total from Start to finish with an epidural. #2: 3 hours and 20 min from Start to finish au naturale.

@emilyalso I'm sorry to hear about your surgical site pain after putting your S into his crib. I've been fighting mom guilt over not being able to do everything with my toddler as well. It's lovy and difficult being a mom of two.
@swe2 I hope your sweep starts something!
@MrsCPALeslie I'm sorry that your mom wasn't more involved with your pregnancy. It could be a blessing in disguise *shrug.

How many weeks old is baby? 1 week (10 days)
Any medical appointments/updates for baby or mom this week? Pediatric urologist on Thursday to consult about a circ. Louis' platelets were too low to do it while in the hospital.
Questions, concerns, updates, etc. concerning feeding/weight gain? Breastfeeding is going shockingly well this time. I keep anticipating something will go wrong. My previous experience was painful and I barely produced any milk, so I am cautiously opptomistic that this time is just much better.

@Louise_Belcher hospitals here don't do circs for newborns at all anymore - it's all done through private clinics. It would be so much easier if it wasn't one more thing I have to think about for after the baby comes. And yay for easier BFing!!
