Due date is this Thursday & we haven't finalized our name! Big Brother is Luke (and came a week early, so we need to figure this name out before she comes!).

  • You don't need to "figure this name out" before she comes.....we were team green going into the hospital,  we had 2 boy names and 2 girl names. After birth, the 2 boy names were out of the question.  Of the two girl names we tried calling her both names she had chosen.  One just felt right after meeting her, the other one did not - it did not fit her at all.

We loved the name and we just felt that it didn't fit her at all.  Her given name has completely fit her, and glad we used it.
  • @3rescuepups I just don't think DH and I are as visual/in the moment.  My son was so swollen and looked so different at birth that it would have been hard choosing between names for him.  I don't feel confident/comfortable naming her after her arrival.

I prefer Stella, AND my first thought was Luke and Leia.

    So, Stella.

  • I agree with the Star Wars comments. Also, I'm not a fan of using the same first initial for multiple kids personally. I would go with Stella.

    1+ to this
  • @bride-and-wall - I definitely wasn't planning on two names starting with the same letter, but a lot of the names we've liked have been L names!

Each to their own..... there is no way I would be able to name my child without meeting him/her first.  Short lists are great,  as we had, but I guess we are more visual people and want to see our child before naming.  If we would have stuck with our other name for our baby before she was born, I would have baby name regret.
