@sunniegrly ouch! Sorry about your hand and the fainting! Glad it's over (sort of) and hope that you have a quick recovery!
@AlohaKumu Yasss girl! Fix that washing machine! Nice job! DH loves fixing stuff so he handles all of that around here and never lets me do any of it. This week he's traveling and I painted another exterior door on our house. I took the deadbolt and doorknob off and put them back on. With a screwdriver. By myself. So satisfying.
Could anyone who, when they are stressed, loses their appetite and throws themselves into their work, please, for the love of all that is holy, teach me your ways?
...says the girl who just polished off a tamale and a Pepsi (in a bottle... and both were f*kin delicious) and has accomplished little of her massive to do list for the day.
This must be the same girl who just "forgets" to eat some days.
Guys this is me. But I also think all orgasms feel the same and I voted yes to pee sticks, so just add this to the list.
As far as teaching you my ways? Stress makes me feel nauseated so... get super nauseas? I can't drink caffeine for (I think) the same reason - makes me feel ill, and like I'm going absolutely bonkers. I think my body over produces adrenaline or something in stressful situations, which oddly enough is something Promethease said was likely based on my DNA, and I do not enjoy the feeling. HATE roller coasters.
I'm so proud of myself! My DH is out doing errands and I am at home, about to do some laundry. The washing machine started flashing with this error code, so I looked it up online and figured out what was wrong. I used a screwdriver to tighten the area I thought was the problem and then the washer worked! (I have 0 mechanical/technical skill, so I'm shocked that I actually got it working again!)
At first thought you were just proud of yourself for doing laundry, and I was going to be like, hey me too! ::wilted flower::
@AlohaKumu - I did the same thing! Stupid error codes. My machine doesn't always drain properly so I have to let to drain the the pre-spin cycle otherwise it gets stuck on 12min. Congrats! @sunnygyrl - sorry about your hand and the fainting. Totally embarrassing!
I also want to learn the ways of the non-eating, jump into work ways. Here I am still eating salads and zoodles. I just want some pasta, ice cream and cookies!
Good luck tomorrow @jsnakehole! I know the feeling of really really wanting a job. I feel like I can't leave mine because they have mat leave top ups and I want them. I don't want to risk going to a company, starting over and loosing out on the top up.
We get 12 months leave at 55% to a max or the new policy includes 18 months at 33%. But work tops up the first 17 weeks to 70% I think.
@tryingfor1st that's pretty amazing. I have six weeks before my pay/benefits get taken away.
My kid who couldn't go on the last field trip is coming on tomorrow's trip. I keep hearing him muttering to himself about how tomorrow is going to be the best day ever. It's really cute.
I'm glad we have a trip because my brain is fried. I have so much assessment to do and I've only finished my writing assessment. I still have to do math and reading, and grade a bunch of tests and put them in my grade book. I am totally drained.

Thanks for all the mechanic love! @doxiemoxie212 --usually just doing the laundry IS a huge accomplishment, so fixing the washer was nothing short of a miracle. @sunniegrly -- I hope your hand is feeling better today @jsnakehole -- tomorrow is an exciting day for you! I hope the trip goes well and that you nail that interview.

So, hi! *waves* it feels weird being back on TB again, but kind of like coming home in a way, and you guys all seem super cool. Good luck and positive vibes for everyone!
And as a GAD sufferer, I definitely throw myself into work when stressed, but I also eat a lot more, so...
I am currently lying in bed eating an ice cream sandwich with my left hand. Because that's what you do when you flatten your right hand in a weighted office door. Our neighbor gave us the ice cream yesterday. Best neighbor ever.
You guys. I am so so pissed. I stopped at Target on my drive home to pick up Preseed. I got home, got dinner going and looked in my bag... the box is open! All the applicators are there but the actual tube is gone!!!! It's really expensive! And I don't really want to return lube? But wtf???? And now I can't go get more because I have dinner in the oven and it would take too long
@jsnakehole FX that your interview goes well! @tryingfor1st Super jealous of your maternity leave policy. I can take advantage of FMLA and disability insurance (60% pay) but other than that nothing.
Talking about maternity leave... that is literally my reason for not leaving my job right now to look for something else. We get 16 weeks fully paid. I'm not going anywhere until I use that shit
@50wife - Thanks for checking on me! It still hurts like heck even with Tylenol and I still can't feel the tips of two of my fingers. But it's just the middle and ring fingers that are numb so I'm at least using my other fingers pretty well now.
My interview got postponed. I don't know until when. I'm really bummed. I spent the whole afternoon researching and coming up with possible responses and questions.
I really want this new job and I just want to get this initial interview over with.

@jsnakehole - Oh no!!!! I'm so sorry. I hate it when you get all ready for something and then it gets put off and it's like all your work was wasted. FX you hear back soon.
@jsnakehole sorry the interview got postponed, on the bright side you have more time to hone those answers. I hope it is rescheduled soon!
@futuremrsbrian that's nuts, what's concerning is that there is potentially someone out there that is trying to have a kid but can't afford/doesn't want to pay for lube. Super responsible.

@icecubeinthedesert it will transfer. I don't know if it gives me a boost in the job hunt, but it's nice to finally have job security.
And my interview got rescheduled for the 24th. One of my friends is interviewing next week, so she'll be able to fill me in on what kind of questions they asked. So it's all coming together.
Now we just need DH to come home and everything is set.

@JJMNO1616 there's multiple positions in multiple sites but under the same person. Myself and two friends are interviewing and hopefully we'll all get spots. They're opening up a new center that needs at least 4 or 5 teachers so we could potentially all get spots.

Anyone have any good and easy breakfast recipes that are gluten-free and aren't an egg casserole? I'm going on a girl's weekend Memorial Day weekend and we each take turns cooking breakfasts and dinners to keep costs down. Two of the girls are gluten free and one of them gets sick from eggs unless they're used for baking purposes in like pancakes or muffins (so no scrambled, fried, poached, etc eggs).
@KariAnn323 Bisquick makes a gf pancake mix, which is pretty good/easy. You could also do hot cereal. Not everyone who's gluten free can tolerate gluten free oats, but buckwheat cereal is always safe (becasue it's not actually wheat at all). Also, if you can find Pamela's Artisan Flour Blend (I get it at Earth Fare or Whole Foods), I've found that you can use pretty much as a cup for cup replacement for regular flour-- just don't use it for bread.
Re: Weekday Randoms 5/08
@AlohaKumu woo! Good job on the washer fix. I would have been a crying angry mess if I had tried lol
