Hay ladies can I jump in here with ya'll? There is some catching up I need to do on this board but I recognize alot of you. I just got my call this morning for my 5th FET and it was a BFN. I dunno what's wrong with me or whatever. I have 3 6d frosties left and looks like we are jumping back in for the beginning of June.

@thucks I hate to see you over here and that your lasted FET didn't work!
Have you talked to your RE about an ERA to make sure the transfer is being done on the correct day? Or even just an endometrial scratch in case it's an implantation issue?
@mtpbadger I hate to see you here to. We kinda go way back lol We talked about that prior to last round. He's not a fan of an ERA and we did a hysteroscopy/laparoscopy on the 1st of March. Where he messed around with my lining to "disturb" it.

@mtpbadger- sounds like you have a good plan. I am going to keep my ear out for a surrogate for you up here in WI just in case then you can truly have a little badger baby
@radmom27- WOW. I cannot believe your clinic lied to you like that. That is pretty unacceptable honestly. Do you normally get pictures? I would maybe insist next time so you can see for yourself what stage they are at. I get that they want you to be hopeful, but its your right to know if you want to where they are at. What if they had all been at 8 cell? would they have still done the transfer? My clinic wouldn't even transfer a 8 cell on day 8. Make me concerned they just want the transfer $$. I know its so hard to switch... but if you can't trust them... I just don't know. I am so sorry you are having to deal with this on top of everything else. If you do the DE route eventually.. maybe really consider another clinic then. Do you know when you will start your next cycle if you stay with your RE?
@thucks- I am so sorry to read about your BFN. I have also followed your journey and I am "glad" you are joining us on this thread. This is definitely the one that no one wants to be apart of, but its nice to stay in touch with other ladies who have been here a while. I am glad to hear you have some more frosties and can try again soon. I believe you already have twins, but would you maybe transfer 2 next time? Thinking of you on this shitty day and hoping you are enjoying a few beverages tonight.

radmom27 i think i read that it was a day 3t hence my confusion! Hearing all that shoulve, couldve, wouldve is so hard, i'm sorry!! You deserve a free cycle for that!! Are they so quick to assume the eggs are bad just because of your age? Do you ever get any answers on your last MC? Its truly so hard to keep the fight alive! I'm glad clomid worked for you the first time! We would like to think some pregnancy's can be easy!! Do your kids know how hard you've been trying? At least you got to enjoy them young and no one thought you were grandma...I'm terrified thats whats in store for me! I'm sorry you've been through so much for round 2,3,4 and so on!! BUT you are right that one ovary works wonders! Some woman are only working with one ovary and they dont even know it. And technically my first cycle the right one was the only one to show to the party and did produce a good one!! I still have hope for u!! One RE at the clinic I'm at was older talking about DE with me whne cycle 2 i reponded so poorly. I just cried. I even told him that i'd like to first give my eggs a chance lets se what they can do. I think they know us older kiddies need a move on and know DE will probably have faster success. I totally get wanting to change clinics or RE. I certainly thought about it! One RE is telling me to go straight to DE and my RE is telling me if I want to go for a second opinion I had a tough go with mine in the beginning but I really love the rest of the staff and with everything I have to go through, she really does try. I feel for a woman RE shes a bit cold but does know her stuff and thats what we really want.
AFM: Ready for this I went in for BW and got the go ahead for stemming AND got my PGS results back too. I can finally say I got a normie back yay!! 2 of the 6 made it. I cried for relief I have a normie but for sadness too that I know its not enough and I have to continue to try and bank embryos. Its such a hard decision but I knew deep down I was going to need to cycle so lets hope I can squeeze a few good ones out this time. We know I"m all about the grading and its really true what they say, looks can be deceiving! I had 3/5AAs and I truly felt I would get at least 3 normies back. 1/5AA made it and the other was a 5BA. That lil normie beat out the 2/5AA and the 5AB, what a trooper. However the 5AA is considered "the best" and thats the one they would transfer first. The thawing process scares the hell out of me why I need to hopefully get a few more in before transfer too. I should feel a sigh of relief that I will hopefully get to a transfer but I"m still a ball of nerves UGH!!!! I truly have been a mess these last 2 days with such swollen eyes, poor OH I know is scared what another cycle of hormones will do to me!

radmom27 I still hope and pray i've got a few more in their so I can feel secure and hopefully get to the next step!! Everyone else can do it, why not us!! I just wish the process and life mixed in didn't have to be so difficult too u know!!
@thucks- really sorry to see you here but welcome!! You have on your side that your bdy totally knows what to do as it did do it not that long go. AND you almost did so great and had 11blasts to choose from. May I ask with so many you didn't think of doing PGS? I never thought about it as I wasn't producing much and thought I was originally getting quality over quantity...not so much. I just posted on another thread stating if I didn't do the pgs they would transfer the 5AA ones first and i had 3 of them and only one of those came back normal. I'm hoping I have a very welcoming womb and those embabies want to get comfy cozy so I hope it will be just as welcoming for my normies!! How have you and your RE been deciding what to transfer? Your twins were a fresh transfer?

@jamieH2000 and @Hopeful_mom The twins were fresh transfers in 2012. When we got the 11 I had to do a freeze all because my levels where way to high. At the time we were quoted a min of $9,000 to do PGS testing. The RE suggested against it because we did get the twins and our blood work and history shows no defects. Our insurance covers everything but the freeze and thaw. So each round is roughly $1,200. We figured cost wise it would be cheaper to do transfers then to PGS test. Our first 2 rounds we thawed 1 and transferred that 1. We threw around the idea of transferring 2 so we started to thaw more and decide right before transfer what to do. Round 3 1 didn't make the thaw at all so we ended up thawing 2 one was beautiful so we only transferred 1 and was going to refreeze the other but it didn't make it. Our 4th round we just said screw it and transferred both that we thawed. This last round since I just had the surgery and only had 1 5day left we only thawed it and transferred it. DH is pretty much against twins again I don't really care I've done it once I can do it again. We have 2 4BA and 1 3BB. We haven't decided yet how many we will thaw/transfer this round. Insurance will only cover what I have left in the freezer and 1 more fresh transfer. We have an apt on the 16th with the RE to try and decide what we want to do unless my DH and I can come to an agreement for thaw and transfer 2 or I'm tempted to thaw 3 and transfer the best 2. I'm starting to lean towards a fresh being better and just want to be done with all this. We have decided since we have our twins and we have done what we can if it doesn't work we just accept what God has provided for us.
So sorry for the long winded response. And just to say the April TWW board was killing me it's like 90% iui's and basically they all worked WTF.

@thucks as much as I am happy for those individuals that have success with IUIs (or even their first IVF at this point!), it still stings b/c I so wish that could be me. During my last FET, on the month board, there was like an 80% success rate, which just killed me and I stopped posting there.
If your RE recommending any further testing before your next transfer?
Anyone have any fun plans this weekend?? DH and I are going to a wine fest on the grounds of Montpelier (home of James Madison) with 5 other people. Tickets are $20, you get a wine glass and can do unlimited tasting at the 20+ Virginia wineries that are there. This will be our 6th or 7th year going and it's always so much fun. Last year it was right after my retrieval so I didn't drink too much and took it pretty easy since I was still sore. As much as it sucks that I'm not pregnant and thought I would be at this point, I am going to enjoy myself and forget about IF for the day!
@mtpbadger Right. On the April FET board there is 8 of us and I'm the only negative. That kills me. Seems like I'm usually the last one of the month to transfer and the first negative of the month. So I'm ganna try to switch it up and do a transfer in the beginning of June? Idk it probably doesn't matter but it's something different lol. No the RE isn't suggesting any more testing. I don't know what other testing I could suggest do you? No real big plans this weekend. It's been poring and everything is wet. I'd love to take the girls to the zoo. That's my kind of relaxation. The DH just said he's calling into work tonight so I'm pretty sure I'm headed to the bar with the co-workers after work tonight he can watch the twins.

After my last CP during an FET (I had two during IUI's) my RE did an RPL panel and clotting panel. She also put me on Lovenox just to see if that helped with implantation as she said it couldn't hurt anything. Also are you on any steroids prior to transfer? My RE had me on prednisone and then hydrocortisone (pill) during transfers just in case there was any inflammation of the uterine lining that was impeding implantation. Might be worth bringing up - my RE said there wasn't really any downside of trying these things as the side effects are usually pretty minimal.
The weather here has been awful today. Tomorrow should be a little better but I'll be wearing my rain boots to the wine fest since it's probably going to be a muddy mess. I love the zoo! In college I lived only a few blocks from the small Madison zoo and would walk around it for my study breaks. The DC zoo is awesome. Enjoy your drinks tonight!
This last round we added Doxycycline for 5 days prior to transfer and Lovenox started the day of Transfer. Blood work has been ordered for a metabolic panel, TSH and Glomerular Filtration Rate test. With the twins I was on a thyroid med and Metformin for PCOS and I felt so much better I feel like I need to be back on Metformin so they are going to look into my levels for that.

@thucks It does get hard being on some of the boards and everyones BFP seems to come so easily...at least that was you with your twins I'm with you and prefer the fresh transfer, you didn't have any frosties left from that round? Are your girls identical or both took? I think both of my twins were girls. Before i knew i was carrying more then one i thought girl, I'm glad I knew I was at least right for one. Here I'm fighting so hard to bank healthy embryos i'm just terrified of getting them back in me!! I'm glad you have some coverage! Surprised how PGS differs everywhere, can you shop around? My clinic uses a few places and I think for 11 you probably wouldve had to pay $3500 is my guess. I'm OOP for everything so I know every $$ counts! I would love twins and OH is not having it! Things are still a bit nutty for us so i'm hoping I can do one now and then for the next do two Hopefully he won't change his mind and i'll have enough healthy embryos to do that. The problem is my age and being able to carry them. They didn't find a reason for my MC so its unknown and that makes it scary too! Maybe we'll be transferring together in june
No big plans for me its so nasty out and the stress and drama over losing my phone I just want to curl up and sleep!!
mtpbadger u should only know i'm taking notes and really appreciate all your acknowledge! I keep think the RE missed a test from my MC so I want to make sure before we get to an FET we've covered everything!! Enjoy your wine! Sounds like fun!

Hello guys! I've been lurking a little. I'm going to be starting my round #4 of IVF in a couple months. We are trying to enjoy the spring a little. We will be doing donor sperm. I can see a couple other people here are looking at donor eggs and I'm having the opposite issue. Picking a donor is weird I'm having a hard time realizing that we will never have a child between us. So we are taking a few months to enjoy life and not think about things but it's always in the back of my mind. I'm so glad you ladies are here. I don't post a lot but it really helps knowing I'm not the only one. Good luck to everyone here. I hope we will not be here long!
@Hopeful_mom both embryos took when we got the twins. We had 3 frosties left from them. When they were about 7 mo. We had to make a decision of what to do with those, dispose, allow someone to adopt or renew the freezing for $900 a yr. This will probably sound bad but At that time we were sure we were done so we chose to dispose, the cost to put up for adoption was crazy. That was probably the hardest decision ever. When the girls hit 2 we decided that we were at a point to try again. Our minds changed since they are more self efficient. Twins are hard to survive through the first year and a half. I'm so sorry about the mc.

Msymmers922 welcome and sorry you find yourself here!! At times I was looking into donor sperm as OH would drive me nits BUT he thought about it as he is worried about our kids being autistic as he believes it runs on is side of the family AND he has kids that are probably on the spectrum. I was really upset and more then anything wanted him to be the father of my children as I waited all these years to finally find that person. AND what was more frustrating for me was that he didn't care, it doesn't matter to him. Hes all about adopting anyway so he's coming from a different place. I know it hurts BUT technically no body will ever have to know except the 2 of you!! My last round of IVF hes sample wasnt super as others have been and the ones that made it to test came back abnormal. It was become almost hopeless thinking that we together couldn't make a healthy embryo. I talked to me RE a few times about using Donor and she said hes sample is really good enough and its probably my eggs and not him. Always so lovely to hear. I did a bunch of IUIs and some weeks his sample was a rockstar and other times it was super low. Until I actually have our baby It'll always be out there. I know it hard and just wanted to share you're not alone.
@thucks there was a cost to put up for adoption really??? thats crazy!! this whole process is super hard! I wish your RE wouldve talked to u as its always better to use the younger embabies So mad at myself for not doing this process sooner!! We all have to make hard decisions and you moved on and here you are! Hopefully your next round will be it. On another thread there are 2 woman who thought they had bad batches as all FET were BFN till they transferred the last two and got multiple blessings You're so very lucky to have experienced that! I think you're time will come again soon, hang in there!!

I’ve been lurking on this post for awhile. I’m in the midst of my second (and last IVF). It’s inspiring to hear some of your plans for next steps. It’s so funny I thought IVF was going to be this holy grail like do this and it will work! I’ve heard so many success stories but alas that has not been me. It’s nice to see some familiar names on this board.
@radmom27 I would be irate about what happened at your transfer, that physician withheld information and well pretty much just lied to you. Thats really not ok in my book. They should get your hopes up. At least for me I do better with realistic expectations rather than shock when I found out later things weren’t as hopeful as I was made to believe. I’m sorry this happened to you. I know switching REs is a pain (I did it) but a good supportive and HONEST RE makes things so much better.

@Msymmers922 Welcome! I'm sorry you have to be here but this is a great group of strong women. @2MomsHoping Welcome! I've been following your story from afar. I remember being afraid to start IVF thinking that I would be assured of having at least one baby and likely multiples. Everyone I've known that has done IVF has had success...at least it seems, except for me. Although I now realize that this is most definitely not the case and I likely know other people who haven't had success...they just aren't shouting it from the rooftops.
I'm going to switch REs. I just can't in good conscience keep going to the place I'm going...even though it's super convenient.

@2momshoping I totally get what you mean thinking IVF would be the solution to it all! I think that's why when the IUI's didn't work I wasn't too upset, thinking "Oh, there's always IVF!" Well....not really! Even my RE had the same thoughts so it's such a tough pill to swallow when it hasn't worked. Fingers crossed this second round will be successful for you!
@msymmers922 I'm taking a little break as well and as much as it's enjoyable, it's hard to NOT think about IF, especially after being in the middle of a cycle or testing for so long. Hopefully you will find peace in using donor sperm, I'm sure that wasn't any easy decision to make.
@radmom I think you have to go with your gut on this decision, if you're not feeling good about your current RE giving the crappy information they gave you, that doubt and worry could always be lingering and you don't want to have to go into another transfer like that. Hopefully you will find an RE that is awesome, even if it means driving a little bit further.
Ok I haven't caught up with the weekend's post so there shall be more from me later lol. CD1 started yesterday and boy does it hate me. Just talked to the nurse. FET scheduled for 6/8 last BCP is the 19th then start patched on the 20th and base line apt the 22nd. So I've never done this short of a BCP span usually its more than 30 days. Do any of you do all the old wives tales? Should I start Pomegranate juice now or the 22nd? I'm drinking my Raspberry leaf tea today cause last month it helped mellow the bleeding.

@thucks yay for getting started again! I would say to start the Pom juice on the 22nd, since it's "supposed to" build up the lining and you want it thin still for baseline. Hoping June is your month!
@mtpbadger I love your "supposed to" lol I usually can't get any thicker than a 7. Last month I did Pom and Raspberry leaf tea and some how I was at a 12. IDK some one probably needs to slap me around and tell me they are all wives tales (Pom, pineapple, brazil nuts) so I can stop being so conscience about it.

@Msymmers922 - welcome! Sorry you are here with us though. We are going with donor eggs, so I am sure alot of the emotions are the same with donor sperm. How is your husband taking it? I'm finding it pretty hard to get over my genetics, but then I always remind myself there is no guarntee even with my egg that it would look or be like me anyways. I am trying to feel confident that nurture will be stronger than nature in our case
@2momshoping- Sorry you find yourself here, and I agree that I NEVER thought that I would be here and IVF wouldn't work I really really hope your 2nd IVF works tho!!! Lots of ladies get lucky on the second try, so i'm going to stay hopeful for you!
@radmom27- it is so hard to switch... but maybe a new RE with new Ideas will be just the thing you need!! Do you have some ideas of new places you want to go? I would maybe check out fertilityiq.com if you havent before. They try to authenticate all the reviews so they are normally pretty good.
@thucks- yay for getting started again!! I really really hope this is your time. I remember there was a good on the board last summer who had like 2-3 failed transfers, and put her last 3 poorest embryos in and they all stuck and had triplets!! As long as there are frozen embabies, I think there is lots of reasons to have hope

@hopeful_mom Yeah you have to have the embies PGS tested and then pay to store them. At least that was the requirements we were given. @2MomsHoping Sorry you are joining us here but welcome. @Msymmers922 Welcome. I'm sorry your looking at donor sperm I can't imagine how that feels. @JamieH2000 Wow transfer 3 and 3 stick? Umm idk about that. Thaw 2 and transfer 2? or Thaw 3 and transfer 2 with chance to refreeze 1?

@JamieH2000 I am a believer in nurture over nature. I'm adopted and while I don't look like my parents, I have a lot of their mannerisms and qualities. I enjoy so many of the same interests as them. Sometimes when I speak, I hear my mother come out. I don't know much about my biological parents but do know that I am grateful to my parents who have pushed me and helped me go farther than either of my biological parents did. I've never met my biological parents and really don't have a desire to do so. I'm following your journey and cheering for you.

Man, I have been MOOOODY this week. I'm hoping the Metformin is working and this is just PMS and not a crap side effect from the medication. My poor husband. Everything is irritating to me right now and I went off on him for taking all the carrot sticks into work that I had cut up for MY lunch all week (I understand how silly that sounds now, it's not hard to cut up more carrots!)

@tucks- Ya I don't know if I would every transfer 3, but I could see why they did. If I was in your shoes, I really am not sure what I would do either..I like the idea of thawing and seeing how they look.. but its more stress to keep rethawing them so I get that.
@kp214- thanks for your comment!! that really really gives me a lot of peace. While this donor thing is hard on me, my number one worry is that it will be hard on the child and they will feel like a piece of the puzzle is missing. We may have the opportunity to the meet the donor, so I may ask them if it would be possible for the child to contact them at 18 if they wanted to. But its so great to hear that you are like your parents and don't have a strong desire to meet your biological parents or anything. I don't think I would mind if my child wanted to meet their genetic mother, but hopefully they will feel 100% that I am their only mother. Hope you have been enjoying your pregnancy and thanks for checking in
@mtpbadger- carrots may sound irrational, but food prep takes alot of time!! hope he learned his lesson

@mtpbadger@tucks- i'm right there with you and my OH just hung up on me. Yea IF sux and really doesn't help anything lately. Granted my annoyance with him has nothing to do IF wise however usually I have more patience with his nonsense but right now I've got none left in me. I know it sounds crazy but losing my phone has put me over the edge. I think it fell our of the car as I was getting out and someone must've picked it up even though it was like 1am and I was looking for it in the same area in under an hour. I keep harping on it and he doesn't want to hear it. I'm just frustrated especially since i had so much stuff in there pertaining to all of this!! I know that should be the least of my problems!!
AFM: The highlight of my day was my monitoring this am where she saw some measurable follies today yay!! Just praying they all keep growing together!! She saw 2 on the right and 4 on the left all ranging from 8 - 10.5...so really hoping they can all stay in the game!!

@radmom27 don’t be afraid to go to a couple REs for consult. We actually had one we thought we were going to switch to but in trying to refill a prescription it became super apparent the nursing team was disorganized. Make sure and talk with a nurse if you can to get a read on them since they are usually the first contact person.
To everyone. You all are the best. I admit on the other boards I was just getting bummed that my journey wasn’t going as smoothly as the other IVF folks its nice to know there are others out there having trouble like me. Though I do hate that any of us are having these struggles.
AFM: I’m happy to report that we did the retrieval yesterday and got 9 eggs. NINE!!! We only got 4 last time and my AMA had dropped since then so I am beyond thrilled. 8/9 were mature and 7 fertilized. So I’m just really pleased and hoping my luck will continue were there is hopefully at lease one little perfect bean in there. I’m supposed to get the blast report on Sunday…a holiday I don’t do well with. So it I’m hoping to get some good news to get me through. We also go on Saturday to an introduction to foster care/adoption. It has taking a long time to get my partner on board with this so I hope it goes well. Seems like lots of life changing stuff potentially happening this weekend but I’m more a ball of excitement that anxiety…so I’m going to ride that wave as long as it will take me.

I might lose it today and this weekend ya'll. If one more person at work sends a generic "Happy Mother's day to all those special mothers, your job is the most rewarding, blah blah blah" blanket email to everyone, I may not be responsible for my actions. I've actually started to respond with this:
"I know you meant well, but you never know if someone has recently lost a mother, is struggling to become a mother, or wishes for a better relationship with their mother. For some, mother’s day is a very hard day and the constant reminder of what they are missing makes it even more difficult. "
Only one person at work knows I'm dealing with IF, but I think it's a good reminder to people as you never know who else is struggling. I'm also dreading going out to lunch with my mother in law tomorrow as she really pushes my buttons and is super passive-aggressive about things (She once told me that I tricked my husband when we got married b/c I used to highlight my hair blonde and now it's my natural color. Her exact comment was "you tricked my son, he thought he was marrying a blonde". Seriously, WTF)
@mtpbadger OMG I'm so sorry about the emails. I think you handled it appropriately people don't think things through very well. Yuck on the MIL. That's ganna be a tough lunch. I can't believe she said you tricked him. That's retarded.
AFM I'm still contemplating on what to thaw/transfer. Is there and success difference between a 5d and 6d FET? I'm having trouble finding anything on Google.

@thucks thanks! It's so out of character for me to respond, usually I'm pretty good at letting things roll off my back but it's really striking a nerve this year and getting me pretty down.
I don't think there's a difference between 5d and 6d transfers. I know my RE transferred my 5d ones first, but they wouldn't have froze the 6d embryos if they didn't think they had just as good as a chance as the 5d.
Oh @mtpbadger those emails are awful. FWIW, I think your response is eloquent and perfect for so many situations! I plan on staying off all social media this weekend, it's going to be brutal. Hang in there friends!
AFM, went for my "let's try this again" baseline yesterday. Cyst has shrunk but is still there. RE has decided to go forward with stims though because my E2 was only 19. Here we go round #3...

Hi Everyone,
I’ve been lurking on this post for awhile.

@2momshoping- Sorry you find yourself here, and I agree that I NEVER thought that I would be here and IVF wouldn't work
@radmom27- it is so hard to switch... but maybe a new RE with new Ideas will be just the thing you need!!

@2MomsHoping Sorry you are joining us here but welcome.
@Msymmers922 Welcome. I'm sorry your looking at donor sperm I can't imagine how that feels.
@JamieH2000 Wow transfer 3 and 3 stick? Umm idk about that. Our biggest debate right now is how many to thaw and transfer. 3 is an odd number do we thaw and transfer 1? Thaw 2 and transfer 1 with chance to refreeze one? Thaw 2 and transfer 2? or Thaw 3 and transfer 2 with chance to refreeze 1?

Man, I have been MOOOODY this week. I'm hoping the Metformin is working and this is just PMS and not a crap side effect from the medication. My poor husband. Everything is irritating to me right now and I went off on him for taking all the carrot sticks into work that I had cut up for MY lunch all week (I understand how silly that sounds now, it's not hard to cut up more carrots!)

Thinking of all of you on this difficult weekend.

AFM, went for my "let's try this again" baseline yesterday. Cyst has shrunk but is still there. RE has decided to go forward with stims though because my E2 was only 19. Here we go round #3...
