How far along are you? 10w4d

Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? I had an appt last Friday, then an ultrasound this morning. Everything is going great!!

Cravings? Idk if it was a craving, but yesterday I just HAD to have a tortilla shell from Chipotle. I never get the shells, I always get a bowl.

Rants/Raves? I got to see my little baby moving on the ultrasound this morning! S/he was partying it up! She tired to do the 3D but they were moving too much, BUT I got to see its little face!!!!!

Questions? None I can think of

GTKY: If you had to give a presentation on something with no notice, what would it be? Probably sugar gliders (I have two). Most people don't know what they are, so anytime they come up I am basically giving a mini presentation on them, haha.

Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Tomorrow is my first OB appointment. I know I'll be getting an U/S because she pushed up my appointment based on my U/S last week. I'm so anxious!

Cravings? On Friday I reeeeally wanted mozzarella sticks, so I got them. They were amazing. To the point that while I was eating them I thought I'd keep wanting them, but nope, that satisfied it.

Rants/Raves? Rave would be the weather and that my appointment is tomorrow. No rants!

Questions? Nope!

GTKY: If you had to give a presentation on something with no notice, what would it be? Okay, this is hard... Haha! Umm maybe stealing ktcakes's answer a bit, but I'd probably do it on adopting dogs from Thailand, since our two dogs are from there. I always dread when people ask what breed our dogs are, because once I tell them they're street mutts from Thailand I have to go through the whole spiel!

Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? We had a great ultrasound a week and a half ago, and have another coming up this Friday.

Cravings? A big tuna sandwich on a roll from the local deli. Between the fact that the deli doesn't seem like the cleanest place and the huge amount of tuna in the sandwich, I've been avoiding it. But I want it so badly!!

Rants/Raves? Really grateful for my doctor getting me in for u/s appointments every two weeks till now - very helpful for my PGAL brain!

Questions? Not at the moment

GTKY: If you had to give a presentation on something with no notice, what would it be? Like @ktcakes87, I would have to point to my pet as well.. rabbits! I could talk about rabbit health and care for days haha.

@MJDsquared adopting dogs from Thailand sounds super interesting!! Also, now I want mozzarella sticks

@blueskies17 Sugar gliders are fun pets, but holy cow they are a LOT of work. I def wouldn't get them again, haha. Rabbits are so cute, but I had them when I was a kid and was NOWHERE near prepared to care for them. I remember them peeing out the side of the cage and was super grossed out then, haha.

How far along are you? 8+6

Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Not last week, first OB appt on Thursday. Not sure what to expect yet, but hoping we can do some sort of scan to see the bean, since I haven't seen him or her since 7+2!

Cravings? Not really, just a lot of thirst for water.

Rants/Raves? I'm excited for Thursday, but I have so much work to do at my job between now and then I hope the time just flies.

Questions? Not at the moment.

GTKY: If you had to give a presentation on something with no notice, what would it be? I am a total dork, but it would be first aid and CPR. I actually had to do that last month at my job. Someone else was scheduled to do a training and backed out at the last moment. I got trained in my early teens, and in my late teens I helped teach classes for others. Its something that's so ingrained in my mind at this point.

@ktkakes1003 I've actually never seen a sugar glider in person, but have heard so many people say how cool they are! I'm kind of jealous. But, I'm confident I could never have one because my dogs have a habit of putting small creatures in their mouths.... Not to hurt, but to carry, but the former usually ends up happening because they aren't very gentle.

@blueskies17 Oh man, that actually reminds me that I definitely craved tuna last week. I had to make a special trip to the deli just to get it too... Oh tuna.

@MJDsquared Strays from Thailand!? That sounds like such a cool story! My mutts are rescues, but not as cool as strays from Thailand.

Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? I have an appointment on Friday and I am beyond excited! First one so hopefully I'll be getting an US and seeing the cutie pie

Cravings? Yesterday I was in a rush and really feeling mac and cheese... I still haven't gotten any

Rants/Raves? Rave first- I am (knock on wood) not feeling terrible just bloated which I can deal with
Rants- DW is NOT as excited as I am because she doesn't want to "expend the energy to be excited for that long." Also, my students are totally ready for the end of the year and they are acting like it!

Questions? I am having CRAZY intense dreams, I've read this is normal but holy cow is there any thing I can do to tame them down?

GTKY: If you had to give a presentation on something with no notice, what would it be?
I could talk about rare and interesting musical instruments for forever. I've always had a knack for picking up an instrument and being able to figure out how to play it, so people have started giving me instruments and I HAVE to research them because I think they are always such an intriguing view into different cultures and time periods.
If I weren't talking about music I'd probably talk about long distance hikes BUT both of those things are interesting to certain groups of people so I tend not to talk much

@ktcakes87 @txmomma16 The shelter we adopted them from is called Soi Dog. They take in strays and then adopt them out mostly to other countries because there's a huge dog meat trade in Thailand. I love our dogs so so so much but they're both pretty skittish. We probably won't adopt from Thailand again, unless we could confirm with the rescue that we were getting a super friendly, outgoing dog. It's just a lot of work taking them anywhere (the vet, family holidays, etc) because they're scared of most people.

I guess I should mention that we never set foot in Thailand. They use flight volunteers, so if someone is traveling to Thailand they can volunteer to have the dogs travel in cargo with them on their way home (it's cheaper when there's a person flying "with" the dogs, rather than just "shipping" them). The adopter pays for the dog's flight cost and the crate that it travels in. And then you just meet at the airport! So you have to wait until someone is traveling to your area.

How far along are you? 9 weeks 6 days

Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? 10 week heartbeat check on Thursday! I've been patiently waiting for this appt since our ultrasound a month ago!

Cravings? everyday is different but on the whole, I'd say I just want carbs. Right now I'm eating a bagel and cream cheese for lunch. Really it's just whatever I think I can stomach.

Rants/Raves? My hormones are being weird! For the last month I've had pretty consistent yet mild nausea and fatigue. Then late last week/over the weekend, those symptoms sort of went into hiding and my mood turned awful. I was nasty. Then I woke up yesterday (Monday) feeling mentally back to normal, but physically, the symptoms returned but stronger than ever. I was nauseous and exhausted all day yesterday and feel the same today. I know hormones peak around where I am now, so I'm thinking it's something to do with that.

Questions?

GTKY: If you had to give a presentation on something with no notice, what would it be? Hmm, maybe good reads? I have a few that come to mind and could give a good sell on them to someone who asked. If all else fails, I could do a deep play-by-play on every Harry Potter book.

It feels like 5.22 is ages and ages away.

Cravings? Basically everything food related makes me feel sick just to look at.

Rants/Raves? I woke up today 10 minutes before I needed to leave for work.

Nothing spoiled your day like running around like a crazy person first thing.

GTKY: If you had to give a presentation on something with no notice, what would it be? Probably either books (I've worked in bookstores for 12 years) or health and nutrition (I am a certified health coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York) 2 topics very near and dear to my heart.

How far along are you? 10 weeks 4 days!

Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Had blood work for the Harmony test yesterday. Of course hoping all is good. Won't find out for up to 2 weeks.

Cravings? Not really... been liking chicken fingers with honey dill sauce.

Rants/Raves? Where to begin!! I'm not a complainer normally, but this is freakin hard! My nausea was so bad with vomiting I'm on diclectin. It helps a LOT, but I still feel nausea and crummy all the time. It's so exhausting!! The thought of most foods and water grosses me out. I'm hoping for 2nd trimester to help with that. I'm so very tired all the time and completely useless at home - and work! I have the most insane constipation... like 4 and 5 days with barely anything!! Plus hemorrhoids have started...! I feel like I'm dying, not creating life.... lol! I am beyond grateful for this little miracle (it took us over a year and a half), but talk about extreme side effects! We're keeping it a secret until Harmony test results are back, but I just want to call my mom and cry!! Lol!

Questions? Will I be able to eat whatever I want in the 2nd trimester?!

Keeping backyard chickens! I have 8, although I can barely make it out to the coop this past month. Luckily my hubby is my hero and takes care of everything I can't right now. He is so wonderful!!

@ktcakes87 Bunnies are a lot of work too. My bunny Emma uses a litter box like a cat and doesn't have a cage- I think it's only in recent years that people have learned that bunnies can be trained that way. I did not know that when I was a kid! Although admittedly I didn't really train her- luckily she figured out the litter box on her own and doesn't chew up my furniture haha.

@txmomm16 I've been super thirsty too. That was my first "pregnancy symptom".

@MJDsquared That is awesome that you saved your dogs from the meat trade!

@peachy13 I also only "want" carbs. I'm getting sick of them but it's the only thing that seems palatable/digestable.

How far along are you? 7 Weeks today... anyone else get super excited for Ticker Change day?

Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? TW....Ended up getting into Dr. on Friday after a super scary bleeding episode... Basically I walked into the grocery store and felt some 'wetness' then all of a sudden a gush and there was blood running down my leg.... apparently I passed a medium sized clot and was totally freaked out by it, we got to have an US and everything looked fine; we could even see the flicker of the heartbeat!. Dr. said he saw another clot that might pass, but since the visit on Friday I've only had super mild brown spotting. I go back tomorrow for a followup US just to check on everything, then back next week for our official 8 week appt. End TW...

Cravings? Nothing specific... maybe sour things, like lemonade...

Rants/Raves? See above for Rant, but now I'm super paranoid about bleeding; but I'm excited for another US tomorrow and then the apt. next week! Just counting down the days!

GTKY: If you had to give a presentation on something with no notice, what would it be? Even though our TTC journey wasnt very long, I feel like I could give a presentation on that. The temping, charting, opk's, all the hormones, the reproductive system etc.

@squeen1991 Rad! I can't even play the recorder lol. I have a friend like that - who can just pick up any instrument and learn how to play it. It's freaking amazing!

@bbylifelove Sorry you're feeling so awful. Have you tried Unisom and vitamin b6? That's what my doctor recommended for a nausea. I feel you on the...ahem...constipation problem. It's a pain in the ass haha lol

Yesterday, I had a SERIOUS craving for spiced ramen from this little hole in the wall place in Japantown (in SF). I made my husband meet me ther vfornlunch and it was the mot amazing thing I've ever had in my life.

I got out of the shower yesterday and looked at my boobs. Holy shit. It's like a super highway of blue veins all over my tits now. Jesus. I thought that wouldn't happen until later. But no. It's happening now. Its a little freaky, but I'll take whatever I get because it's all for a great reason!

It would be a cooking demonstration of some kind. Probably how to make a bomb ass cheese and charcuterie board. I'm known around these parts as having the best cheese boards of all time. It's a very serious art

Rants/Raves? More like complaining. I just started my masters and now we are trying to buy a house and get ours on the market.. and I'm too exhausted for any of it. Trying to do a little packing every night but I'm sooooo tired from work! I also have to start packing my classroom too because I'm transferring schools. What was I thinking?!

@MJDsquared @breezybee Thank you for thinking of me! Yesterday was a bad day, but today has been pretty good I must say! 11 weeks tomorrow, so maybe it will ease up. I called my ob/gyn today and asked about constipation. She said Metamucil and colace is safe. Never had colace, but will pick up Metamucil on my way home from work!
@breezybee I hear you on the boobs! Mine aren't too veiny, but frickin' big now!! I'm normally an A, so this is so bizarre - I'm liking it, lol!
