Oh man totally on the nachos train with you all. Yesterday at the office we had an office Cinco de Mayo lunch with burritos ( not good for already gassy pregnant lady) and nachos. Plus home made sangria which i would have been all over! I told everyone i had a deadline and had to drive later on - and my manager is not buying that at all.
I am also craving all crunchy things with hummus. Or apples and cheese. I'm trying rwally hard not to demolish a bag of chips with dip....that may happen today.
Turkey and cheddar sandwiches on wheat with lots of lettuce! Activia coconut yogurt. Have liked this with breakfast for a while, but today I felt like I was eating hair conditioner lol
Update: it's 12:30 am and I NEEDED a sandwich. It's awesome!
I've been on a juicing kick. This week's juice has pineapple, spinach, cucumber, lemon, and granny smith apples. And I keep mkaing a soup with kale, coconut mlk, chickpeas, and curry. And last night, I celebrated the positive pregnancy test with an entire carton of Ben and Jerry's... so... not entirely healthy.
I have had a non existent appetite since a couple days before my BFP. However, yesterday my stomach would growl because I was hungry and nothing sounded good. I have been eating just because I should. I usually have so much joy in eating.

Today has been an interesting food day... Thai noodles with chicken and egg for breakfast. Lunch was dim sum... shrimp rolls, shumai, pork fried wontons. I just had strawberry yogurt for a snack. Dinner last night was Cheerios. Really just trying to get calories in before the morning sickness kicks in.
Today I was a little better. I had a fruit plate with raspberries, blackberries, apple slices, and some cuties. Presentation is key for me. If you hand me a banana I prob won't eat it, but if everything is sliced and easy finger food I'll pick at it. I guess I'm like a child myself.
This thread it too much! During my first pregnancy with DS, I needed sour cream DAILY (so odd!) and blueberries! The blueberries were sometimes hard to come by as we lived in Alaska at the time. I forgot who mentioned the chicken but, oh my word, yes. I could NOT even handle it raw...the feeling of the bones in my hand made me instantly queasy. This time I can't say anything is jumping out just yet as a craving. Apples and mangoes maybe? I've been drawn to buying and eating them which is not the norm for me. I have been really trying to focus on nutrient dense food now to off set the lack of variety that may come with morning sickness and aversions soon.
First, the nachos comments have me basically dying. I love it. They definitely influenced my order of brisket bbq nachos this weekend (SO GOOD).
Second, I am so proud of myself. Wanted a slice of homemade carrot cake but went for a spinach pineapple strawberry smoothie instead. But why do I feel like I deserve a prize? Like a slice of carrot cake type of prize?
Third, anyone try Halo Top "ice cream" yet? I just got my first carton of Oatmeal Cookie flavor and it's pretty good!
I did it. I planned all of our meals for the week, went grocery shopping yesterday, and prepped all of the food. I was hoping to get some exercise in, but I was SO tired by 8 pm when LO went down that it just didn't happen. Why, oh why, is the pregnancy exhaustion SO REAL?? But hey...my meals are ready to go! Here's the menu for the week: Monday: BBQ chicken paninis on whole wheat naan bread Tuesday: Cashew chicken over brown rice Wednesday: Chicken stir fry Thursday: Rotisserie chicken/black bean tacos Friday/Saturday: We eat out at night! Sunday: Whatever my mom cooks for family dinner I realize now that I'm reading this that we're having a LOT of chicken this week! Breakfast every morning is a green smoothie, and lunch is leftovers from the night before. My snacks are almonds, fruit, a protein bar, and some pretzels with hummus. Hope this helps some of you who are struggling with meal planning!
@cyanope I do our meal planning for two weeks at a time, and I tend to use a lot of chicken also. It's so easy and delicious! Plus basically all my crockpot recipes use chicken, and I have a love affair with my crockpot.
Does your produce last for the full two weeks, @schaze? I wish I could get two weeks done at once, but I'm always nervous my produce won't make it! Do you make an extra trip to the grocery store in that time? Just wondering how you make it work. Thanks, @missblaze! Although I'm sure your chicken salads are delicious!
We just get the produce we need for the week. DH usually runs to the store for the second week's produce with DD so I get an hour or so of alone time which I love! @cyanope
Lucky you, @schaze! My DH is so helpful with most everything, but I think if I sent him to the grocery store by himself, he would have a heart attack. The man probably wouldn't know the difference between spinach and kale!
I've been struggling with eating. Cooking does not sound appealing at all. I either want super specific food (like nachos or a very specific salad) or I want all the carbs and super simple foods. The past few days it was pasta with just super plain marinara (like only garlic and tomatoes plain). But I did find a good option to at least make me feel not quite so guilty about eating pasta and tomatoes. The Barilla Protein Plus pasta. It tastes like and has the texture of normal pasta but it has more protein in it. I know its not the healthiest food in the world, but at least I know I'm getting some protein in if that's all I can stomach at the moment.

I haven't had many serious aversions yet, but I drove past a restaurant with a raw bar. I usually love raw oysters, especially Pacific Ocean, but the idea of them made me almost gag. Just driving down the street!
Hopefully, I'll mostly just have aversions to the foods I need to avoid anyway-- that would be nice.
Me- 39 (turning 40 in April), TTC for the first time ever (since Jan 2015), low ovarian reserve
Married 3/14/14 to my wonderful wife, but her sperm count is rather low
TTC with frozen donor sperm and science
7 IUIs, 7 BFNs. 2 IVF attempts, both cancelled and converted to IUI, both BFNs. Decided that my tired old ovaries are ready to retire. Next step- reciprocal IVF, using my wife's eggs, my uterus! fresh 5 day transfer (2 embryos) 4/17/17- BFP! Identical twins "due" 1/2/17 (but anticipated arrival sometime December)
Yesterday, I met a friend for dinner and I had chicken parmesan. I ate half. Walked home. And ate the other half. I think even though I'm not in the mood to prepare chicken, I'm happy to eat it at a restaurant, fried and smothered in cheese and sauce.
@libbberty I did a whole bunch of freezer meals last summer in 3rd tri. Crockpot dump dinners were the best! Google and Pinterest have a whole bunch of ideas, but I did teriyaki chicken, honey rosemary chicken, and lime cilantro chicken. I loved them because all I had to make were sides.

I would love for this to happen, I've been mourning the loss of sushi since I got my BFP! I was fully convinced it wasn't happening this month and was totally planning to go out for sushi as comfort food when AF arrived. This is preferable, but I still want some sushi!
@libbberty It was AMAZING! And I love that there is so much protein in it! It's not exactly the kind of texture you would expect from ice cream but it's delicious.
Have any of you looked at cashew milk? I was at the store the other day looking at my options for calcium and saw that it had way more calcium than regular milk. Anyone know of any reason not to have that as a staple while pregnant instead of milk?

I am having my first craving, which I think if early, but... dried mango is delicious. So much sugar though!
