Not my best work...actually pretty upset with the silver/blue star blanket even though it's not that bad. I just should have waited until I wasn't so tired the other night lol but there's that blanket, a bunch of receiving blankets, and burp cloths. I think I still have fabric to make more burp cloths or washcloths but that's not happening anytime soon haha I feel like we have soooo many blankets!

I completely missed this thread, there are some seriously cute ideas on here!
@BabyMC517 +1 on the cute prints you picked. We are always our worst critic on projects because we know what we messed up on! Especially with sewing you are so "zoomed in" you can see every flaw. They look great!
i got into making my own jeans last year when I discovered an awesome sew-along that made it so clear. I always have the same fit issues with storebought jeans and got fed up. My two pairs that I made are my favorites and I can't wait to wear them again! So naturally, I can't wait to make little boy jeans for him!! I have a ton of denim and cannot even imagine how fun it will be picking out lining prints & using different top stitching colors & details!
Thanks @swe2 and @sweaterboots! I picked the fabric when we didn't know we were having a boy, wanted something neutral. I'm a perfectionist and just was so mad at myself for not remembering to pin in the middle for the mommy fabric and then I put it Jon the bottom instead of the top when sewing which just made it slide everywhere. My H was so sweet and just kept saying it looks great and the little guy isn't gonna got care. He said it's going to be his favorite blanket because his mom made it and I'm going to have to pry it away from him when he's 18! Lol it was cute.

@sweaterboots dang! You are talented! I also hate regular jeans. I love the maternity ones. I'm Apple shaped so I need a wider waist and smaller butt and leg so they are always baggy or don't fit right. With the stretchy top for the maternity pants the rest fit amazing!! I only sew curtains and tree skirts so far. My talents do not go any further.
@SWE2 I took costume construction in College and never got above a C in my seamstress abilities, lol. This sew-along is AMAZING and really spells it out for even the simplest 'I can only sew a straight line" seamstress. I know we're about to have babies/already have a newborn so it might be awhile, but here's the link should you ever want to give it a go!
You can can also search #gingerjeans on instagram to see other people's' jeans. They're all so varied because of people's design decisions! Mine took about 12 hours total from pattern cutting to finish.
I have wanted to take up sewing for the longest time. I also have a hard time finding jeans that fit so making my own would be a dream! @sweaterboots you've now got me motivated to seriously think about getting my own machine.
@CherryBananas you totally should! Even if the jeans prove to be a challenge you know you'll use it for kid stuff!
Highly recommend checking out other people's' jeans on instagram. It might really inspire you! It did for me because they're women with so many different bodies represented, not models. The woman who made the pattern herself has round hips and a butt like mine, so I was pretty pumped!
i just used my college sewing machine (bought in 2001) and I did buy a cheap Serger machine for the inside seams, it's amazing compared to zig-zagging with a regular machine.
Finally able to make some things thanks to maternity leave. Here's a cocoon and hat I finished today, mostly for photos, but it's so soft I wish I could sleep in It!
I finally finished this car seat blanket! I made it after the 1st movie came out and it was a new technique. But it had a million ends to weave in and I forgot about it. Not 100% happy with, but I love it anyways!
Re: Crafty moms, what do you plan on making for little one?
