Hello friends! I was away all week at a work conference. Missed you guys.
@leekat14 So sorry for the BFN. You will figure the needles out. You are strong and you can do it. Just make sure that you start out lying down in a safe space. As far as the genetic testing goes, we did Counsyl on me. It didn't go through insurance and was $349. As for why we did it, the RE's office recommends it (gently), and because knowledge is power. It tested for:
@zwink1 That's really tough. I hope that he goes for his follow up testing, soon. Hopefully you two can talk sometime when everyone is calm and open-minded. This is so hard on relationships. Glad your dog is okay. Glad that your talk went well and things are looking up. Congratulations on the new job!!
@MrsJ2410 What a letdown. I hope that the testosterone does the trick. As for work, if you are planning to leave after having a baby (so you're not concerned with FMLA), you should start looking. The stress isn't helpful and is miserable no matter what.
@kiwi2628 Have a wonderful vacation! No TTC talk! It's hard to wrap your mind around all of this stuff initially. Take care of yourself. You know that you are not a failure. I do that, too, but I look around at this awesome crew and ask if I would be so harsh on them. The answer is a hard no. Your body just needs some help to do this. Just like someone who needs their gallbladder out. There's no value difference between the two.
@laurad75 What are you looking for in a planner? Which parts are important to you?
@saralee797-2 I know it's days later but I hope things are looking up. I would have given you a dollar if when that douche threw his gloves on the floor, you had exclaimed, "Airball! boooooo!"
@haylsbayls Sorry that you're over here. FWIW, a girl I went to HS with had a septate uterus. She had it fixed and has two kids now. I hope that by now you're feeling better and more at peace with the DX now. This is a delay but it is something they can fix. You've got this.
@vflux33 YAY! So glad his results were good! Go to Costco for the Clomid. I priced it out and for one round at 50mg, it was $30 compared to Costco's $9.
@antoto It's good to temper your expectations but if it doesn't work, you'll still be about the same amount of sad. So go ahead and be excited! This is still the best shot you've had yet!
@sunniegrly GL with testing. I hope they can make a plan for the future.
@sjb2215 I started reading a sample of Conquering Infertility on the plane. It was spot on. I want to order a copy now.
@RatParade Glad that your talk with your mom went well.
@LadyMillil I'm so excited for you! I know you've been waiting for this for a LONG time!
@beachbunnyxo123 That puppy!! Oh my goodness! I hope you have a SPECTACULAR weekend. As for your questions for Thursday, if there's no MFI, I don't see a problem with doing Femara +TI for a few (how much is the Femara cycle?) Are you doing mid-cycle US? I'd give it a couple and if that doesn't work, try the IUI to bypass the cervix and any potential issues there (cervix, CM being hateful towards sperm, etc.) As for the mixups, some places are less scrupulous. But those ones are the shocking headline places. Most places have protocol in place to prevent this. For us, they check ID every time one of us has an appointment. If I'm going for an US, they check my ID. H goes in to the ejaculation station, they check his ID. They have him check the label on his sample cup which has his name and my name on it. They have me check the label on the vial any time they take blood for me. I went in for the IUI, they checked my ID and put an ID bracelet on me that had my name, his name, and our patient numbers. When she came in to do the IUI, she double checked my bracelet against the label on the sperm for both our names and patient numbers, showed it to both of us, and had us verbally confirm. That doesn't mean that we don't joke about it all the time.
@ramzlau I'm glad that you have some plans and some things to change up and some hope! Sorry for the DX but I'm glad it's something they have a plan for. FX it does the trick! It's not yet a binder. I do have a big folder that I took with me to RE + first acupuncture appointment.
@WillRunForWine21 Hooray for having your HSG done and clear! It's great to have that behind you.
@madspunk Mine would consider the 15 to be borderline. They count anything over 16 as good but the theory with a 15 is that it is possible for the measurement to be a little off and because it might grow enough by the time the trigger hits to have a mature egg. Solo butt injections worry me. Hoping that things work to where we can avoid PIO.
AFM...
Diagnosis (If you've been): unexplained
Cycle/CD: 14/25
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) 50mg Clomid, 150iu Gonal-f, IUI, progesterone, acupuncture
How are things going? Okay. It was a good week, even if it was long and exhausting, and the last night was really fun. We had an event at swanky bowling alley and then the bar in the hotel had a DJ and dancing. It felt good to just have fun for a night. It's a trip to be on the progesterone. I keep forgetting so when I woke up today and my temp was still up and boobs were still sore, I was super excited and sure it must be a good sign (short LP, normally my temp is due for a nosedive by now and boobs are back to normal). Then I remembered. Lame. But it does mean the progesterone is doing it's job right now. Which would be good since H just bid his schedule for June and I told him what to bid for based on the progesterone extending my LP for this and next cycle.
Any questions?
GTKY: How do you feel about theme parks/roller coasters? I love them! I don't need to do the roller coasters five times over but I think Disney is really fun. I love the rides and the people-watching and the food and all the things. I like most roller coasters but there are definitely some crappy ones that are too jerky.

Lurking from the TTTC board, but I thought you'd appreciate this. That moment when you order the drink that you don't really want because you'd rather have it than deal with the questions BUT your waiter is really slow so you get the question anyway. At least you have a drink?
Thank you for the tip, @kiki75! I am a Costco member so I will definitely take your advice. Also I'm keeping my FX for your IUI and that you will be among our first lucky May/J 18 'ers!
@leekat14 I felt the same way. I can't really organize it because they only gave me instructions for the first three days. I just put everything else back in the bag for now. Trying to take it one step at a time.
@saralee797-2 I am really glad I am not the only one that left everything in the bag (aside from the fridge meds). Yesterday I joked that we were the hobo IVF couple, dragging this huge paper bag around (rather than the beautiful Pinterest organization methods I have seen).
@MrsJ2410 Lol IVF hobos!! I love it. I ended up having overnight guests this weekend and had to hide my fridge meds under a bag of carrots haha you do what you have to do I guess!!
