  • I had to tell my boss super early because I needed some accommodations and help with certain aspects of my job (lifting for events).  He wanted me to initiate FML right away (he's super by-the-book, ugh), so I had to tell a couple others, and then a committee had to get together to "approve" my accommodations.  I'm IN HR, so basically, a lot more of my coworkers knew before I wanted them to.  I told everyone else last week.

  • I've told my boss in the past right away each time, because of precautions with patients (RN).  This time, I haven't been working very much (it's a casual position), so I just told her last week to give a heads up why I wouldn't be working much in May.  My husband will be traveling for 2 weeks so I'll be home alone with the 3 kiddos during that time, and I sing at church one weekend which is a 16 hour time commitment, so we will really only have one weekend together (this weekend). We are seriously the most boring people, but somehow life is very busy!

  • I just told my principal today at 13 weeks 1 day. I'll probably email our district office hr person at the end of May after my 16 week appointment.

  • Most of my co-workers know, I let the charge RNs know first because of the patients who can't have pregnant caregivers. I have yet to tell my nurse manager, I'm sure she knows though. 
  • I was not planning on telling anyone at work for another few weeks, but pregnancy has definitely lowered my immunity -- I caught some kind of bad cold around week 6 that lingered for two weeks, and then a stomach bug week 10. At 11 weeks my boss asked me if everything was ok with me health wise since I had taken a few sick days and I decided it was easier to just tell her. I still am not planning on telling anyone else at work yet.
