Re: Thursday Ticker Change 5/4

  • How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
10 weeks! Whoo hoo for double digits! Strawberry.

How are you feeling? Pretty good, I have a cold but am still functioning.

Any appointments this week?Nope, not until the 17th.

Rants, raves, questions? Weighed myself this morning and I've gained 5 lbs! Hooooow?! I haven't even lfelt like eating but this is definitely motivating me to be more active. Hoping to incorporate more stroller walks during the day- I've been so lazy.

GTKY: What is your favorite summer tradition? I love grilling out by the pool!

  • How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 6 / ladybug/sweet pea/chocolate chip/blueberry depending on which app you ask, ha!

How are you feeling? Bloated. Tender breasts, especially when I walk down stairs (the bouncing!).

Any appointments this week? Had my first U/S Tuesday and saw the gestational sac and yolk sac! My OB pushed my first appt from the 16th to the 10th after seeing the U/S results because she thinks we should be able to see something next week.

Rants, raves, questions? My rave is it's sunny! Two days of 80ish degree weather. The rant is that I don't have air conditioning, because that's not super common in the PNW.

GTKY: What is your favorite summer tradition? Is it sad that I can't think of any? When I was little, it was my little tiny hometown's annual carnival. I don't really have any now.

@lestex Maybe awkward/TMI, but if you're constipated like I believe many of us are, that could be part of the weight gain!

@lestex I can't wait for hot days grilling by the pool!  Wonderful summer tradition!

@MJDsquared Hooray for a good scan and exciting you get to see baby again sooner than you thought!
What apps are you using?  I only have babycenter right now, and then my Bump ticker gives me a different fruit.

How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
9 weeks, now almost an inch long and the size of a grape or olive

    How are you feeling?
Generally like crap.  You know how when you have a cold that goes on forever and you keep fighting through it, but then by week 3 or 4 it's all catching up with you and you're really feeling it?  That's where I'm at.  I'll take it for a healthy baby though!

    Any appointments this week?
Had our first ob ultrasound on Tuesday and it went well.  I don't get to see baby again until 13+1! :(
Coming up: at the appointment I told the ob about the serious pgal anxiety I'm facing (can't sleep, super depressed, want to cry all the time), so I have my first appointment with a therapist Tuesday.

    Rants, raves, questions?
I guess my rave is that even though I don't "feel pregnant" (like I guess I had this expectation in my head - especially centered around ms - that I'm not meeting), I walked around yesterday feeling like I was in a new relationship.  It's not the same, but it's like I have a crush or something.  Just dreaming of our LO.

GTKY: What is your favorite summer tradition?
    Tie:
    1) My dad and I would go to the State Fair every year together - it was our thing.  He just passed away so I'm wondering if I'll go this year, but it's still incredibly close to my heart and I want to continue the tradition with our kids.
    2) Me and H, my mom, brother and SIL, sister and BIL, and all their kids go camping or stay in a cabin once every summer.  There's 15 of us, so it's busy and loud with lots of good campfire foods and so much fun!

  • @whiska I use Ovia/Bump, and I use "weird but cute animals" on Ovia, so that's lady bug. DH has another app (or two? not sure) that said chocolate chip/blueberry. Which is weird because I know Bump uses blueberry for later on, but the size of those can vary, I guess.

I'm so sorry for your loss. :( My dad passed away just over a year ago, and it's actually what prompted DH and I to start TTC (because life is uncertain). Once it starts feeling more 'real,' I know it's going to be really hard for me because he would've been such a great grandpa.

  • How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
    7 weeks! Blueberry!
    How are you feeling?
I had spotting yesterday but none today thankfully. Midwife thinks it is totally normal so I am a little relieved but still nervous! The bloat is reaaal this week! OMG I feel like I went to an all you can eat buffet 10 times today!!!
    Any appointments this week?
Nope first appointment is next Thursday!
    Rants, raves, questions?
Does anyone else feel like they already have the urge to nest?! It got really bad last time and the house was SO organized in anticipation of DD's arrival. I am already going through cabinets and closets. I was cleaning over the weekend and I was like omg am I seriously already nesting?! I don't think it started until late second tri last time.
GTKY: What is your favorite summer tradition?
Fires on the patio. DH and I love to grill out and end the night with a nice fire and music. I also love having my window open at night and listening to the crickets.

@whiska totally feel you with the new relationship feeling. I just feel like I am in la la land and am so forgetful of my daily tasks already! All I can think about is LO!

@MJDsquared I am in total agreement with your theory of weight gain so for being bloat weight. I was up 3 pounds since last week but the bloat is unreal!!!

  • @lablover920 I'm so glad your midwife could ease your mind about the spotting! My bloat really picked up yesterday for me...yay. :| I'm just glad that 90% of the tops/dresses I own are flowy because that's what I prefer. Haha!

How many weeks are you? What size is baby?  8 weeks! Raspberry!

How are you feeling?  Pretty good.  Sore breasts and a little tired, but I finally got back to the gym this week, so here's hoping I keep it up.

Any appointments this week? Unfortunately no, not until June 6.

Rants, raves, questions? Not really a rant, but even though I don't feel super bloated anymore, my belly doesn't want to go back to normal (or even somewhat normal).  It feels like I'm already showing even though I know I'm not.  I'm probably imagining it.

GTKY: What is your favorite summer tradition? Visiting my parents and spending time on the beach and at the boardwalk.
  • @lestex I wouldn't get too hung up on weight gain at this point, it's likely water weight +/- bloat, especially if it was a one-off measurement.

@MJDsquared yay for warm weather! It's beautiful here today too.

@whiska good on you for taking care of your mental health! So so soooo important!

@lablover920 thank goodness the spotting stopped! I'm glad your midwife was able to reassure you.

How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
    8! peanut M&M or raspberry!

How are you feeling? pretty good for the most-part. Had some vertigo-type symptoms return this morning, but it's kept at bay so far today. Otherwise, just bloated like the rest of you! We had McDonalds for dinner last night because A) it was McHappy day & B) I had my first midwife appt after work and I was too lazy to make dinner, and holy shit. I was STARVING by the time we ate, so I ended up eating my 1/4lber meal + half of DSs meal... If you didn't know you would have sworn I was 8 months pregnant not 8 weeks... It was the most uncomfortable thing ever.

Any appointments this week? Like I mentioned above, first midwife appt yesterday! It was so great! She is awesome and we totally clicked. I am so happy :) plus I told her about my anxiety about being 'due' for a bad pregnancy outcome so she gave me a req for a dating u/s so I can see the HB and get some reassurance, so that is booked next week!

    Rants, raves, questions?
RAVE: it's like 30 degrees C here today, and I effin love it! Yay summer! Rant: DH took apart the BBQ like weeks ago and he STILL hasn't put it back together, AND we have no patio furniture so we can eat outside. We need to resolve these problems ASAP if this weather keeps up!

GTKY: What is your favorite summer tradition?
Going camping! We would literally spend the entire summer as kids in our trailer at the lake, it was amazing!

  • How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
    8 weeks - a raspberry

    How are you feeling?
MS is getting worse - and the unisom/b6 mixture isn't cutting it.  I went to pickup a Diceglis (sp?) prescription and it was $836......wait, what?  My OB nurse said she was trying to get it to go through insurance still - I guess it isn't automatically covered?  Seriously though, medicine costs are ridiculous.  I'll just wait and suffer until it goes through...

    Any appointments this week?
Just had my weekly u/s today.  Measuring ahead by 2 days and a HB of 166!

    Rants, raves, questions?
Rave!  One of my best friends (also going through IF treatments) just found out she's preggo!  So excited for her and for our LOs to be so close in age. FX for her since it is so early.

GTKY: What is your favorite summer tradition?
We live in the Midwest and we take several weekend road trips in the summer - Lake of the Ozarks, Lake Geneva, South Haven MI, Chicago, etc.  Excited to do this again with DD who will enjoy the lakes even more this year!
  • How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 9 weeks!! YAY! Baby is about a pecan/playing jack

How are you feeling? Overall, crappy! This is really the first week that MS has hit! Still no vomiting, but horrible nausea! OB prescribed Diclegis, which of course isn't covered. Unisom/B just don't work the same. BUT....a friend gave me some of her samples for Diclegis, and feel 100% better on it. Another plus, I sleep much better..no great but better...

Any appointments this week? No, not until 25th

Rants, raves, questions? I too already feel like I am showing. I am larger breasted, and notice in the mirror my belly now sticks out more than my boobs. I just was not ready for that much this soon! I feel like it's l fat, an feel ashamed of it...even though I know  shouldn't! I don't even want DH to see! I hope that soon as I get bigger that it will feel more like baby and not fat HAHA!

GTKY: What is your favorite summer tradition? We are also in the Midwest, and enjoy spending a lot of time at the lake. DH and I just got a lake place and our own boat, and this will be our first year at our own place on the lake. Needless to say, we should be up there all summer!

  • @jljeanblanc I'm not far from Lake Geneva!

@MJDsquared I'm so sorry for your loss, and I'm sorry if talking about my dad's passing in an offhand way was upsetting for you.  I'm with you in feeling like I didn't just lose him, I lost him being a grandpa to my kids and I really really hate that.  He would have been a devoted grandpa.  I was 4 weeks when he passed so I was able to tell him before, which I'm so thankful for, and that's why my anxiety about loss has been so out of control.  I so want for my child and him to have shared just a tiny little sliver of time on this earth together.

It certainly makes us appreciate the life in front of us.  Hugs  <3
