  • I was actually looking at the compassionate Care program. Does anyone know how it determines what you get? I see we have to provide tax returns but can't find any detailed info.
  • @LoveInDC oh no so sorry girl I was hoping that It would! And OMG how frigging cute is she??!!!! What breed?

  • @beachbunnyxo123 Thanks friend :) She's a Keeshond (so related to Poms and similar builds, but 30 lbs lol)

  • @LoveInDC oh my gosh so adorable!!!! This just brightened my day!!!  <3
  • @kiwi2628 I'm so glad you got some answers! I think it's great news that you have a plan! It's also totally ok to feel undecided about the whole thing. IF is awful. I'm happy you have a plan!

@kiwi2628 Ugh, I'm sorry. Your hormone situation sounds complicated and frustrating. We will be on a similar timeline starting our IUI and Clomid cycles. Like you, even when my RE sounds optimistic, I keep going back and forth on how I feel about even doing IUIs when the stats are so shitty, but they work for SOME people, right?? FX you will be part of that 15%, and in the meantime, your wine and vacations all sounds pretty great. I hope you can enjoy them and stay distracted from all this, and return refreshed (or, even better, return a KU SS).
  • @WillRunForWine21 thank you! I'm glad to see you've finished all of your testing! I'll be rooting for you during your upcoming iui!
  • @WillRunForWine21 For clomid I did experience hot flashes, mostly at night.  I was also just completely exhausted and constipated (although that may not have been connected to the clomid)

IVF cycle people...can you remind me how the calendar goes for monitoring/meds? Call on the first day of your period but when does the first pill or shot begin?
  • @kiwi2628 sorry for the unexplained diagnosis. While it's great to have a game plan ready, I feel you on wavering between excited there's a plan and fear of worst case scenario. I hope you enjoy your wine tonight! Your travels sound fun and should be the perfect distraction for a little. Xoxo Hay Is Bay

Lol, @vflux33, honestly, I thought the exact. Same. Thing. Like, you've got to be kidding me!
  • @saralee797-2 YEA!!!! OMG so exciting!!!

So I might need to be talked off a ledge here.  Another stark white test at 12DPO this morning has me ready to call and order my meds for IVF.  If they get here in time the nurse said I could be starting next week!!!! How bad of an idea is this? I mean there's a chance I'm a SS but that test this morning leads me to believe otherwise.
  • @madspunk I just got your PM from a month ago.  Thank you for the info!!!
  • @leekat14 Meds are usually overnighted with free shipping. How long is your LP? When do you expect AF?

    Possibly Saturday, most likely Sunday.
  • @LoveInDC gah now you've got that in my head!!! That would be so awesome!!!
  • @beachbunnyxo123 I am also out of pocket so I can relate.  Currently trying round 2 of clomid and TI.  When I met with the Dr he was great about giving me an idea of percentages and there was little to no difference for me between TI and IUI. We have decided to skip the iui and go straight for IVF. The financial drain from doing things that were unlikely to work helped us. I know every situation is different....

Holy computer glitch, Batman. Let's try this again lol

@leekat14 @beachbunnyxo123 Hugs for the BFNs, ladies <3 I have no advice on treatment moving forward, but I do recommend wine and ice cream in the interim ;)

@heatherdubrow Let's make this happen! (Not like we have any say, but still lol) This will make waiting for June a lot easier :)

@leekat14 that makes sense I can completely see why you would decide on that. It makes me think of the meme @antoto posted in the NIAW thread of Leo from wolf of wall street throwing all the money in the air. Such tough decisions to make.

    Edit typo
  • @LoveInDC it will be fun to have a buddy!!

Sorry for the BFNs @leekat14 and @beachbunnyxo123<3

@beachbunnyxo123 I have read the certain dx's do change your probability of success with IUI but overall I was surprised and annoyed by how little stats I could even find for IUIs. My RE seems to be anti medicated TI--I don't think she tells any patients to go that route (seems like some REs are like that and some aren't). And the only legit national stats you can use to even evaluate your RE on are based on IVF alone. My RE has good IVF stats but that makes me wonder is it because she is pushing people to IVF who don't really need it?? No way to be sure.  :/

As for the wrong sperm fear, I share it and MH strongly shares it and is freaked out. If he could follow all the techs and watch the sperm wash he would. He brings up his fear about it all the time and I don't know how to console him other than tell him to just ask questions at the office and pray their answers make him feel better. BUT instead of that he has told me we are getting a paternity test either while (if) KU or when (if) he or she is born. I was like, "are you serious??" and he is very serious. So that's going to be fun.

@beachbunnyxo123I am pretty sure I remember you being unexplained like me. My RE group has an algorithm that takes all your numbers (estrogen, progesterone, FSH, AMH etc...), along with age, height, weight, any 'contraindications' (like smoking etc..) and it will give you chance of success. So take this with a grain of salt as to exact numbers since you vary from me, but for me (29, unexplained IF, non-smoker, minimal drinker, overall healthy, normal bloodwork values, normal SA for my H):

On our own: 2-3% chance each cycle
Medication (oral) + TI: 5% each cycle
Medication (oral) + IUI: 15% first cycle
Medication (injectable) + IUI: 22% first cycle
    IVF: 53% each cycle

He also showed what it would be for secon, third, fourth, fifth and sixth cycles, so for oral meds and IUI, the first cycle has a 15% chance, but the second has 22% of people pregnant (total, so first cycle and second cycle combined), after that it was like 29% for 3 cycles and I think after 6 it was like 42% or something.
