I'm so sorry you're having a rough day @rainbowdashh. If I remember correctly, your son is 3 months old today? I may have his age wrong, and I apologize! He and your family will be in my prayers tonight
I also dislike the gofundmes unless they are for a need. It is great to see people come together and support others. But asking others to pay for a wedding or a tattoo is silly.
I am not a fan of beer or wine either. And i dislike BOTH pho and ramen.
I don't like pho at all. Just for the record. My unpopular opinion is that I don't find Amy Schumer funny at all. She's so crude, and just not very clever with her humor. I know she's super popular, but I roll my eyes whenever I see her on tv. Ellen Degeneres on the other hand, hilarious!
@beary67- yes, I thought about going back after I posted to clarify some stuff and then chose to nap instead... one of the families does have fertility issues- after my post, I remembered all this and probably should have left them out of my uo. They have spent money on 3 iui's and an ivf cycle **tw** that ended in a mc. Her cause I was more than happy to support. They might have had the money for an adoption if they hadn't tried other methods first- I get that. The other family did not have infertility issues, had a biological child, asked for an adoption to be funded, adopted a child and then asked for another adoption to be funded. THIS seems inappropriate.
Chiming in on the crowd funding... My cousin died from cancer last year. Prior to her death, she had spent months doing various banquet dinners and GoFundMe's. Wanna know what she spent the money on? Tattoos, a UV manicure machine, and an overnight resort stay for a friend and her kids. Her diet strictly consisted of high fat, fried foods. She went out smoking and drinking every weekend. And she was asking people for money to pay for her treatments. Maybe I'm biased because of this, but I don't donate a dime to anyone for anything.
@lestex I personally disagree with u in a big way. But that's just my opinion and I respect others. I've always wanted to adopt and when I volunteered at orphanages it made the dream so much bigger and changed my life in ways I can't describe. It does typically cost 30k or more so I've always ways wondered how I will ever afford it. The only conclusion I've ever loosely come to thru my research is that fundraising is the way to go. It's such a beautiful thing to be able to adopt so I would never dream of side eyeing someone who is doing it or asking for help.
Edit addition: you don't need to have fetility problems to respectfully choose to adopt.

@AMCsquared, that's so great that you want to adopt as well. I hope to adopt at some point, it's just a matter of when. Finances will definitely come into play, though we are lucky that DH's work will pay for half. The other half is going to come from a mix of savings and a home equity line of credit. Will you be doing international or domestic?

@ameliabedelia-2 that's so amazing they will pay for half!! Wow! I am curious how that works. We honestly don't know what the when is in our timeline. If money wasn't part of it I would have done it yesterday. We plan to do international. U? Have u seen the movie lion?

@AMCsquared, international as well. I have done a huge amount of research on different countries but we haven't made a decision yet on where. Our adoption benefit is part of our "family planning" plan. It pays a lifetime benefit of $25K toward reproductive assistance and $12K towards adoption. We are super lucky, my husband got this job just when we were planning to see an RE. I haven't seen the movie Lion.

So... I really dont like the show Parenthood. On the other hand, I LOVE Shameless! Now that's my kind of dysfunctional family!
Shameless is sooo good! When I started watching it a few years ago our tv faced the front window, and I'd totally forget to close the blinds until I realized someone was naked and I'm pretty sure everyone driving by thought I was watching porn. Oops!
My UO is that I do not like bacon at all...UNTIL TODAY. I just want some bacon and eggs. We went to target and bought four packages of bacon for the freezer. So weird. My last pregnancy I just craved all Mexican food!
@ameliabedelia-2 that's so amazing!! I am very excited for you. As someone who wants to adopt, you will LOVE the movie lion. Tearsss. I think it's my favorite movie now.

They have alcohol removed wine by Fre. I wouldn't say it's comparable 100% but it's nice to have an option. They also make it in pretty much every variety of wine. Just tried the Merlot!

I hated the show Breaking Bad. I even made myself watch the entire first season to really give it a chance...but nope! Hate it.
Sweet peppers. Red, green, yellow, SO gross!!! If they even touch my food I won't eat it.
