*any concerns or curiosities? Discuss low Papp-a.
  • Yay this is me this week!

Tomorrow afternoon, my first appt with my CNM. Nothing too involved, quick listen to hb, discuss any concerns and probably take some blood. I'll be 16+4.

My next appt will be the anatomy scan!!

  • @purplestarz my dieting DH is coming tomorrow and I want to make him wait in the waiting room while I get weighed.  The weight that made him jump on the diet train is the same weight I was at my last appointment sooooo.....  :s

  • *when in your appt? Tuesday morning
*how far along will you be? 15+6
*what type of appt? what will it entail ? (OB , specialist, U/S?) This is the gestational diabetes specialist
*any concerns or curiosities? I'm trying to figure out how I can convince them that no needles have to be involved in this at all, that I don't even need to be shown a needle, no really, I'm good.

  • @TallMomma29 I'll be crossing my fingers you see that membrane!! Let us know how it goes!
  • Still couldn't see a membrane, but admittedly my OB's ultrasound machine isn't the greatest.  Now I have to wait until 14 weeks to go to a specialist.   :(.   They were basically cuddling so not super hopeful about a membrane separating them.

In positive news, they were both wiggling around and waving at us, and both have good heart beats!  <3

  • Had a check up today at 15+3. No concerns but gained 6 lbs....yikes!

  • @TallMomma29 I'm sorry they still couldn't see a membrane but glad they are doing well! They are mo/mo, right?

Most likely mo/mo but still a chance we'll find a membrane with a machine with a higher resolution or whatever.  I'm currently stress eating chik fil a.   :D

  • @TallMomma29 Will the appointment with the specialist be specifically to check for the membrane or will it also be an anatomy scan? Our anatomy scan will be at an advanced maternal place with higher resolution/imaging. Ohhhhh jelly! I want chick fil a!! Enjoy!
  • @curlyq423 this one is just to check for the membrane, and I got an appointment for next Tuesday!  Woo!  At first the scheduler said they only do the scans at 18w and I begged him to check with the tech because it's not a full anatomy scan... just to check for the membrane.  I totally forgot to get a picture today so hopefully they'll give me one next week! :)

  • Appointment went well and heard the heartbeat for the first time! She said it was in the 140s. Currently waiting to have my blood drawn...and I only gained 2 lbs, not a bazillion as I had predicted.

  • Had my 16w appt today, pretty uneventful. Heard the hb, which is always nice. <3

Ugh, though, I have to have an early GD test along with my 20w a/s, because of my PCOS. And my ob office doesn't give you the drink to take home, you have to get it and drink it there and then wait an hour before you test. With the a/s added, that's going to be a LONG appt!

Oh and even if I pass the gd test, I have to have another one at 28 weeks. I'm cutting out all sweets for the next four weeks (does that improve my chances of passing?)

  • @tallmomma29 I'm rooting for you to find a membrane at your next appt!

  • @bluejeanbabi05 from what I've heard sweets consumption doesn't make a difference... if you're going to get GD you can't really do anything to avoid it.  :-/   That said, sweets can throw off the one hour test so I'd definitely forego sweets before that so you don't end up having to do the 3 hour test if you don't need it.  I hope you don't get it!  And if you do, plan all the sweets for someone to bring to the hospital for you as soon as that baby pops out!! :)

  • @TallMomma29 I've got my fingers crossed for you that they find a membrane at your next appointment!

  • Thanks @bluejeanbabi05 and @flowerintherain!  Mo/mo pregnancies are only 1 in 10,000 pregnancies so my chances are good that there is a thin membrane there and it's just hard to see on my OB's machine!   *fingers crossed*
